I just saw the VMA commercial and I am officially confused. The commercial is pretty hardcore old Gaga featuring HML and GH two of the dirtier, grittier songs on the cd. Are they doing a commercial like that...to be followed with a performance of You and I?
She's performing her whole album! :o
JK! That'd be amazing though. :'(
"If they were not who you were taught that they would be, would you still believe?" — Lady GaGa
Okay Gaga fanatics, I have to know: How did Mutt Lange become involved with "You and I"?
I don't think we know yet. All we know is that they didn't work together (they couldn't find time)... so she sent him her vocals and he produced it. She was worried that he wouldn't be satisfied with the vocals she gave him, but he apparently said they were perfect! And as you probably know, Mutt is a perfectionist who will spend FOREVER reworking and refining a song.

Oh darn. I was hoping for the story behind it to be already revealed. Someone needs to ask her that in an interview. I'm really curious about it. Originally, I didn't care too much for the production, but after a few more listens, I like it a good deal. I think that the lyrics are the best part still.
I do know that Mutt is a perfectionist, and that is something that I'm sure Gaga (as a perfectionist herself) definitely appreciates.

I know this is random, but "Americano" has really grown on me. I actually really like it now. It's production is one-of-a-kind. I think it took me a few listens to appreciate it.

Funny- "hardcore old Gaga"- it's only been three years since the release of The Fame and when "Just Dance" hit the Hot 100. Guess it feels longer than that? :)

The most celebrated and important female artist of the last half-century. The world has been "hung up" on her since she announced to Dick Clark in 1984 that she wanted to rule the world. And RULE it she has...

It really does take a few listens to appreciate Americano. There are subtle things in the production I overlooked during the first few listens (e.g. the violin parts). It really is a nice song, although definitely not comparable to some of the other tracks on the album in my opinion.

"Americano" is one of my favorites because of how it just builds like being danced around faster and faster until you can't see straight anymore.
I think a video for this would be the perfect follow-up to the To Be Continued... and the end of "Telephone." It doesn't have to be a single, just a video.

Lady Gaga to guest on 'The Simpsons'
This should make all the little TV-watching monsters happy: Lady Gaga has recorded a guest spot for an episode of The Simpsons! In “Lisa Goes Gaga,” the singer (seen here recording her lines on Aug. 22) makes a pit stop in Springfield after learning that it’s teeming with low self-esteem, and winds up trying to cheer up a dejected Lisa through the power of speech, song, and a flash mob.
The adventurous performer admits that her visit to Simpsons HQ was “a little nerve-wracking.” “I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor,” she says. “That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.” And where does this guest spot rank among her professional experiences? “Right now I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done,” says Gaga, 25, noting: “My dad’s probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.”
He and the rest of America will be treated to a full-on animated extrava-Gaga-nza, complete with a Gaga Express train powered by a giant flame-shooting bustier, ample wardrobe changes, and a kiss with… Marge! “I play a little bit of a slut,” quips Gaga. “The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.”
The Simpsons producers say they were impressed by her voice-acting range and ad-libbing skills, and are proud to include her in their storied guest ranks. “Since the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she’s it,” declares series creator Matt Groening. As for the challenge of properly animating such a colorful character, he deadpans, “It’s very hard to top reality with her, but I’m sure we’ll come up with something that is going to be as improbable as her usual wardrobe.” Sums up exec producer Al Jean: “For the first time in the history of The Simpsons, we are honored to have on a show business legend who is younger than our show.”
“Lisa Goes Gaga” airs in spring 2012 as part of the show’s 23rd season, which launches Sept. 25.

Poker Face co-writer RedOne has revealed that Lady GaGa and 2010 X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd are collaborating on a forthcoming single.
The Sony/ATV-signed composer, real name Nadir Khayat, is famous for his work with GaGa – helping to pen her UK number one hits Bad Romance and Just Dance, as well as her recent Top 10 singles Judas and Alejandro.
And in the past few months he has also worked closely with Lloyd on her forthcoming debut album, which is set for release later this year.
In an exclusive interview with Music Week, RedOne said the two performers would appear together on one of the album’s tracks.
“It’s a track that GaGa and I wrote together a while ago and when Cher heard it she just loved it. I am in the studio putting the finishing touches to it just now and I’m really excited about it,” he said

“It’s going to be a big one I think – two icons working together.”
Khayat added that although Lloyd failed to win last year’s contest – coming fourth behind One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle, he saw something in the singer which excited him right from the start of the series. “With Cher, she is very special. The way she acts, the way she sings – she’s a star. A lot of artists don’t have that,” he noted.
Because the track is still being worked on it has yet to be given an official title or a release date.
An in-depth interview with Khayat will appear in next week’s magazine.
