Ty. I personally don't think any worldwide number will ever be 100% accurate. Some countries don't even really have any type of counting or soundscan. Mediatraffic even admits this though they say that they don't include certain countries so sales could be even higher. It is a good estimate and nothing else. Sometimes people cite shipped or sold and mix them up though and I do wish we could standardize that somehow. Like, Rihanna has shipped 6 million+ for Loud, but sold around 5. Gaga has shipped 7-8 but only sold 5. You can see the same with pretty much every artist. I mention both of them because I feel like correcting fans every time I see one of them say "Gaga sold 7 or 8 million!" or "Rihanna sold over 6!" because it is shipped and not sold. There are shipped numbers labels brag about and then (to some) more accurate sold numbers. However, they aren't necessarily more accurate because the label is paid for them. The label cares what they are paid for and not necessarily what happens afterwards UNLESS what happens afterward results in needing more shipments or if they grossly over-shipped. I wish we could designate which one we are talking about or at least commonly refer to one and not the other (shipped and sold) but I guess that isn't realistic. I am hoping Gaga eventually hits 6 million SOLD and 8 certified. I think that will be a more than decent showing for her and really in recent years only beaten by Adele and maybe Coldplay or someone else I am forgetting recently. I agree. It's a bit of a pet peeve to me too when when people mix up figures with what they actually are. Sold/Shipped is one aspect, but I also find the whole Albums Sold/Records Sold to be another big issue. Like when article say such and such has sold over 100 million albums when it's records and when they use her singles total (about 60 mil right?) as how much records she's sold. And yeah, Rihanna has actually sold about 5.9 million WW I believe (per mediatraffic) but her label shipped 8 mil just like Gaga's.EDIT: oh nvm. Anbaric already beat me to it. But yeah, I think it's better when people just use records sold. The number is always better and it causes less confusion than singling out albums and singles.

Hopefully 'Born This Way,' and 'The Edge Of Glory' get some nominations for a Grammy. It doesn't matter that the label submitted 'Judas,' and 'You and I' for nomination, because a separate Grammy committee also is able to submit their own nominations, so she could get nominations for anything eligible.

Does that happen often? This is the first I've heard of it.

I highly highly doubt it. I've never seen that in the 5 years I've seen the submission lists. If Kanye's "Stronger" didn't get a write-in vote, I don't see BTW or TEOG getting one. I think "You And I" will get nominated for Pop Solo Performance.

I don't give a fuck what they do with 'B'Day Cake' so long as they drop a full cut ASAP.

I would be surprised if they were, because although they're beautiful songs with winning potential I'm pretty sure the Academy people won't go out of their way to give these nominations when they have two Gaga songs to choose from already.

... I was looking everywhere for that in the Rihanna thread. ETA: why isn't that post showing up in my posting history? Like, I'm 99% positive I posted that in the Rihanna thread too. The fuck, Pulse?

Finally got around to watching the special. She is so wacked out yet I find it even more endearing. Her vocals were on point. Girl must have gotten lessons recently.

ELLE goes GagaBy Emily Cronin Welcome to 2012, Gaga style. Ushering ELLE into the New Year is none other than Lady Gaga, intense and engrossing as ever. The issue, rich with revelations about Gaga’s nine tattoos, teenage drug use and cabaret past, hits newsstands this Wednesday. But you don’t have to wait that long to get a sneak peek of the shoot. We’ve just released our Behind the Cover video for the January issue. In it, the divine Ms Germanotta frolics and sings along to Electric Chapel as remixed by Two Door Cinema Club. She also showcases some of spring 2012’s most coveted fashions, from an orange embroidered Alexander McQueen dress to a lavender silk organza dress by Richard Nicoll. And remember when Gaga wore a white Simone Rocha dress with her ‘mint blonde’ hair? Back in October, the designer told us she would ‘love’ to see Gaga in the green dress. Congratulations, Simone... it’s the cover. - ElleUk.com Link to the Vid ~ www.elleuk.com/elletv/%28channel%29/inside-elle/%28playlist%29/elle-magazine/%28video%29/behind-the-cover-lady-gaga - Heyitsaleviyie.tumblr

So I finally saw the special & I really enjoyed it. She has dry humor & it's hilarious to me. Lol. I love how she sung 'Orange Colored Sky.' She showed off her true talent that night.

She might be doing a performance of her own and then some group performance with those girls. Looking forward to a good MTN performance though, she could use it right now.

^^She'll be performing You and I with Sugarland to close the show. Which, for those who aren't sure who they are, they are a country duo. Made up of one guy and one girl, not two girls. She's set to open the show with Marry the Night though. I personally can't wait to hear the collaboration though.
