Here we go with another one hit wonder that can't hold a note and sings songs that are completely beat driven. He better thanks Scott for giving him hot beats in Run it and Gimme That. Imma just sit here and wait for Ne-Yo to bring out his jam and blow Chris Brown out of the water.

Chris Brown Explains The Finer Points Of Hollering 'Yo!' 11.18.2005 12:22 PM EST
Singer shoots clip for second single, 'Yo.'

SANTA MONICA, California — All right, fellas, take note: Chris Brown is about to show you the proper way to holla at a lady.
"When you say 'yo' to a girl, whether it be at an amusement park or the mall, [it can be] offensive. It's like, 'Yo, yo, yo,' and the girl will be like, 'What?' That's disrespectful," the R&B singer said of his second single, called — you guessed it — "Yo."
"But I try to flip it and make it seem like that's the only thing I could say, like, 'Yo, you took my breath away. Can I get your name and number and talk to you for awhile?' "
The clip, co-directed by Brown and Erik White (who helmed the video for Brown's first single, "Run It!"), opens with the teen, playing a worker at an upscale sneaker store, running late for work. But on his way in, he becomes distracted by a beautiful young woman and starts to follow her, trying to grab her attention by pulling out all the moves — with a little help from his boys, of course.
"I try to bring a little swagger to it," he laughed. "We do our little dance and I just sing the whole song to her and let her know that I'm not the typical guy that's like, 'Yo, I just want [that].' I'm trying to be a gentleman about it."
The video will feature not just one, but two songs by Brown, as it cuts from "Yo" to the Scott Storch-produced "Gimme That." Look for an off-the-chain dance performance that will light up the clip with some "crumpin', poppin' and slotting," as Brown puts it, and maybe even a throwback to a Janet Jackson classic.
"I show a little more of the rugged, street part of the dancing," Brown said. "There's sort of a 'Rhythm Nation'-type feel with all-black suits on. You'll see like the Black Panther, the gasoline worker and me as a S.W.A.T. man. [It'll have] all different aspects. It's just crazy."
For his second act, the charismatic crooner wanted to slow it down and show the world another side of Chris Brown, one that focuses more on the vocal chops that got him where he is today.
"You know, people see the video [for 'Run It!'] and they see the singer, but they don't really see the artist," said Brown, whose self-titled debut album drops November 29 (see "Chris Brown Dancing His 'Run It!' Straight Up The Charts"). "They'll say, 'Oh, he's just dancing. He's just got a hot song right now,' but what they don't know is that the whole album is incredible.
"I can't wait until we do the album-release parties and let people hear my music and what I've been working on up to this point," he added. "I'm just going crazy right now."

This song is hot. i can see it doing what "If it's lovin taht you want" by Rihanna is doing though. I must say, I have to disagree... "If It's Lovin' That You Want" came out after "Pon De Replay" started falling from the top spot... "Run It" has JUST reached it's peak.. I heard he hit #1 this week & knocked Kanye out the top spot (According 2 KKBT 100.3 The Beat, Los Angeles Hip Hop Station). So this is the perfect time to release it. And I also believe that an artist personality has a lot to do with how their recieved by fans. Chris Brown has this homeboy you grew up with, boy next door kinda feel that people feel like they could've known the cat. Rihanna's personality doesn't really come out that much from her, at least in my opinion. I don't really get a feel for the type of person Rihanna is just by listening 2 her music. Yea, "Pon De Replay" was a hot song, but it's almost like any other artist from a tropical island could've sang the song and made it a hit... Chris Brown through interviews, his access granted, and hearing him speak a few other times shows off the fun loving cool guy he is... kinda draws people to him. So I believe this kid is gonna be around awhile. I love the song by the way, & I believe it'll do well. Top 10 @ Urban Radio...

Just got my hands on the Chris Brown album... amazingly, this is a pretty song CD in my opinion. His vocals are not bad whatsoever. I've had it on repeat since yesterday morning. I can listen to this CD ALL the way through. Stand Out Tracks (IMO) Are: Ya Man Ain't Me Say Goodbye Poppin Winner Young Love Ain't No Way
And A Few Other Songs, but I feel if I keep going I'll list the entire track listing. 15 songs and a HOT debut. He has a lot of single choices from this album and suprisingly it's mostly slow & mid-tempo songs. Gimmie That is like the only other fast song on the CD besides Run It!, and "Gimmie That" isn't even all that fast, just up-beat. And Ummmm I'm glad he didn't releast "Gimmie That" as the 2nd single. It's only 3:03 long lol. And the other songs show off his vocal ability and skills. I'm loving the album. I recommend it to anyone. Cop it PLEASE On Tuesday. U won't be disappointed.

I've had the album for about a week and I'm nowhere dissappointed. Alot of people are liking it despite him being 16. He has alot of good songs on there. This is a great debut album because his subject matter is more mature and has better production than debuts of other young singer (i.e. Jojo & Mario's debut!) My favorites include: Ain't No Way (You Won't Love Me) (Only one word can describe this song :DAMN! One of my favorite R&B songs of the year. Great vocals and vocal arrangement and production. Love Sean Garrett for this one.) Winner (Bryan Michael Cox did it again for this song.) Poppin (Dre & Vidal hooked him up with another nice joint) Gimmi That (Nice Scott Storch Banger!)

This CD is ok. I like "Poppin", "Ain't No Way", and "Winner". I think the CD is a little too generic though.
Anyway, "Yo" is terrible. There are better songs on the album.

Well, I'll let ya'll know how I feel when I hear the CD tomorrow (snippets), but everytime, I hear this song, I like it more and more. Compared to RUN IT, this song is ten times better. It's more mature; it's sung a little better; the arrangement is not as generic and lame as RUN IT. The song is tight overall. It sounds like something that a singer more established would tackle. I know that here in the Chi, they are spinning this rather frequently.

there are soo many singles that can be released on this album, personally as a second single, he should've chosen "winner" "poppin" "young love" or "ya man aint me" but he can choose from any of those as a third single or "gimme that" which would do some serious damage, all I know at 1 point and time he needs to release "say goodbye"

It's doing well. I think it is in the top 40 for Rhythmic and it hasn't even went for adds, if i'm not mistaken.

This is so bland and I don't really like his voice in it. He sounds like he's got something in his mouth while he's singing or something LOL.

That video is hot even though my sister says he looks like a slinky spider slithering all over the screen. The song has an appeal to it, and I am glad that it's doing as well. It does sound like he has something in his mouth and that something's clogging his nose, but his vocals ain't that bad to truly detract from the song's hotness.

I like it. Weird beats. Singing is just a bit whiny. Who are his backup singers on this one? Maybe Chris will sound like one of them one of these days. When he says "Yo" I'm wishing some rapper would do it instead.

This is doing very well, but it won't hit #1 on Pop.
I say #4 - #8. And it won't go to #1 on the Hot 100.
When is it going for Pop adds?
