Maybe they're still looking for "that song." Taking Chances actually charted on Hot AC without being sent there, plus also any song released to AC at this point is doomed due to the Christmas clearout. Hopefully this is the right call.

Montreal, QC (October 1) - Five years after her last French-language album, Celine Dion returns with ‘Sans attendre’, an album filled with pure emotion, evocative lyrics and powerful melodies. Celine’s friend Jean-Pierre Ferland appears twice on the album. He recorded “Une chance qu’on s’a”, his famous ode to love in duet with Celine and wrote the lyrics for the very moving song “Je n’ai pas besoin d’amour”. For his part, Luc Plamondon, offered Celine an equally wonderful and touching song, “Que toi au monde”. Several other distinguished artists also joined Celine for duets on ‘Sans attendre’: Johnny Hallyday on “L’amour peut prendre froid” and the late Henri Salvador in a virtual duet titled “Tant de temps”. Newcomers to Celine’s list of collaborators include Grand Corps Malade, who penned the lyrics for “La mer et l’enfant” and Maxime Le Forestier who wrote the beautiful lyrics for “Moi quand je pleure”. Jacques Veneruso, a longtime collaborator, wrote “Parler à mon père”, which maintained the number one position for 10 weeks on Quebec and France charts. He also co-produced the album and composed the arrangements for most songs. Another important member of the team is David Gategno who wrote and produced four songs on the album. You’ll discover more beautiful songs on the album which are sure to captivate Celine’s public. ‘Sans attendre’ will be available for pre-order on www.celinedion.com next week. Tracklisting Sans attendre 1 - Parler à mon père 2 - Le miracle 3- Qui peut vivre sans amour ? 4 - L'amour peut prendre froid (duet with Johnny Hallyday) 5 - Attendre 6 - Une chance qu'on s'a (duet with Jean-Pierre Ferland) 7 - La mer et l'enfant 8 - Moi quand je pleure 9 - Celle qui m'a tout appris 10 - Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour 11 - Si je n'ai rien de toi 12 - Que toi au monde 13 - Les petits pieds de Léa 14 - Tant de temps (duet with Henri Salvador) Sans attendre - Deluxe Edition: 1 - Parler à mon père 2 - Le miracle 3 - Qui peut vivre sans amour ? 4 - L'amour peut prendre froid (duet with Johnny Hallyday) 5 - Attendre 6 - Une chance qu'on s'a (duet with Jean-Pierre Ferland) 7 - La mer et l'enfant 8 - Moi quand je pleure 9 - Celle qui m'a tout appris 10 - Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour 11 - Si je n'ai rien de toi 12 - Que toi au monde 13 - Tant de temps (duet with Henri Salvador) 14 - Les petits pieds de Léa 15 - Ne me quitte pas 16 - Les jours comme ça

Less than one week. Is there any info on which songwriters/producers she has worked with on the upcoming album? You can see them all at the bottom of the individual song pages: www.celinedion.com/ca/music/sans-attendreEDIT: Second single "Le Miracle" Also, the album's supposed to be streaming on CelineDion.com at midnight (I don't know which timezone--I would've guessed GMT, but that's passed).

Damn! Absolutely amazing album!!! So in love "Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour" may be my favorite, but I'll have to go through a few more times to decide! So fucking good! <3 ^_^

Quick question: do you understand the French lyrics? Or is it just enjoying the overall feel of the song?

^ I figured as much. Because I'm a fluent in French and the lyrics are great.
Ne Me Quitte Pas, the Jacques Brel classic, is one of the most epic French songs ever made and she does a great job at it.

Sans attendre sold close to 210k WW and debuts at n.2 on the WW chart in front of the new the Robbie William and Aerosmith. Pretty good for a french album :)

92k opening in Canada. Isn't that equivelant to like 920k in the U.S.? Insane! It's the biggest debut for a French album there in the Soundscan era.

The album sold almost 100k in France too. One of the best debut of the year over there. It kinda crazy for her to still sell that much after what, 30+ years of career!?!?

Damn! No wonder why she's still so popular. No other diva from the 90s (or singer period) can sing like this. After all the tours, the shows, albums, she managed to keep her voice. It's very impressive. Her humbleness makes her even more likable.

Seriously, it's like the world is coming to an end.

^^^ Although I am not a fan of Celine's music or her vocal tone, when she has one the best mainstream voices of all time, is one of the best selling artists of all time, and has made LOAD of money for herself and other from that voice, why not ?
Take a look at the decline of her contemporaries' voices, such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, or much younger artists, such as Christina Aguilera. Clearly, whatever Celine has done, she has done well and IMO, younger artists should look to her as a great example of excellent vocal health....

Actually, when she has a sore throat and she must cancel shows because of that, it's a big deal considering there's people travelling from all over the world to see her show and the number of people working directly or indirectly thanks to her.

How about sucking on a lozenge and doing the concert anyway? Whatever happened to The Show Must Go On?

LOL @ criticizing a vocalist for taking necessary steps to maintain their pipes. We're really stretching here to say the least.
I've been a diehard fan of Celine's for over 14 years and I can say that in no way do she or Rene overreact when she simply has a "sore throat". There's a difference between a sore throat (a light cough) and an infection/strep throat etc. Even when she does have one of the more serious ailments they react in a completely rational way (cancellations, saline treatments, vocal rest etc). Celine does typically get emotional when she has to cancel shows due to this, simply because she feels terrible for fans who have traveled from all over the world to come and see her (and who can't afford to simply fly back at a later date). Barring serious ailments, she typically does continue with shows (and any close follower of hers knows this), so the whole "show much go on" remark is unmerited.
