Thank god this is only a single to a soundtrack and not the lead single of her new album.

this song is soo dayum HOT!
People don't have to sing "deep...the meaning of life" songs for a song to be good. This is A+ catchy Rhythmic music. I think its funny that I see everyone on this board praising the new Madonna song which has even less "deep-ness" than this song.

LOL no the Madonna song isn't a thrown together mess like this. This is annoying.

I love DC, but this sounds like a reject song off their Christmas CD, from their teenybop years. It's a total regression from the maturity and development they displayed on Destiny Fulfilled. This is not 1999 in the era of bubblegum pop. Bad, bad, bad, bad

Obviously, I meant exactly the opposite of what I was saying. There isn't even a shred of substance in that song. There is more substance in this "teeny bop song's" fingernail than in all of Hung Up and for someone who claims to be the Queen of Reinvention shouldn't they be using original music to announce a themselves as royalty of this sort. Hung Up is a collection of words that rhyme set to music that was created by someone else and nothing more.

Got the "#1s" album of DC from Sony today. Listened to this song and it's not even the best song out, but I'm feeling this song is "jumping the shark" as far as Beyonce`'s career is concered. I might give it a few weeks to really see if it succeeds chartwise.

I don't see it affecting Beyonce's career in a bad way if it doesn't become the norm in terms of the maturity level. Its fine to just let loose and have fun. Every song doesn't have to be about the meaning of life or the meaning of love.

Beyoncé shot a video on Tuesday for "Check on It," the next single from Destiny's Child's #1's. Hype Williams directed the clip and fellow Houstonians Slim Thug and Bun B co-star.

MTV News It's absolutely ridiculous that she's releasing a solo-track from a Greatest Hits album of her group that just disbanded. The fact that she's shooting a video for it, and that it's a single, is even more offensive. Seems like this song's the flowers on the grave before the last nail's in the coffin, and I sort of hope it flops because I think it's disrespectful to Kelly and Michelle.

I agree, and have always felt that way about this entire situation. It's like, this is supposed to be their 'last hurrah' as a group, but its like Beyonce is reminding Kelly, Michelle and everyone what the whole purpose of Destiny's Child was, and that was to make her a superstar. It's disrespectful. Why couldn't this just be the 1st single off the Pink Panther soundtrack? ???

I think reguardless...it's BEYONCE this chick always has HYPE behind every one of her releases because she's the CURRENT IT GIRL so this will be a HIT no matter how bad it really is...and it's really bad.
But catchy...i'll admitt.

I don't see why everyone is making a big deal about how stupid the lyrics of this song are.. when mindless immature songs like "my humps","laffy taffy","hollaback girl", and "hung up" have been hot on the billboard charts... and some of the same people calling this song crap praised the songs mentioned before.

i don't see artistic merit in any of those songs...but you can't deny a hit...and this is an obvious hit just based on first listen...just like my humps, laffy taffy, holla back girl...it's just whatever radio gets behind...and radio programmers obivously think this has the potential to be a hit

The second verse was obviously meant for Kelly.
