LTWYL would need to sell probably in the 425,000 ~ 450,000 range to get #1, which i don't see happening.

Gaga really lucked out with last week's chart reformulation to get Alejandro in the top 5. If only Paparazzi had managed a top 5 week! She'd tie Janet for having 7 top 5 singles from one album (although, of course, with the disclaimer of it being a re-release). Actually she wouldn't as Billboard counts it as two albums because there was more than a couple of new tracks on the re-release. Billboard counts the two albums separately. Janet's 7 top 5 singles came from the same original album without a re-release and additional tracks added later on to extend the life of the album. Janet also had an 8th song hit the Top 5 in radio airplay called "State of the World".

Only the individual EP is tracked separately. It definitely is not the same as an original album charting without a re-release, but they are considered singles from one album for BB's purposes.

Drake with 7 songs in the Hot 100
Find Your Love #5 Over #32 Up All Night #49 9 AM In Dallas #57 Miss Me #63 Fireworks #71 Fancy #99
Anyone know if any of the other tracks made the Bubbling Under?
Huge Week for Drake, should be followed by a crazier week for Em with "LTWYL" and "No Love" smashing on iTunes

I don't think LTWYL will do that but we will see. California girls airplay is just so huge right now. I don't like the song california girls but hey the radio loves it and i guess thats all that matters.

Billboard has not been treating The Fame and The Fame Monster as one album. www.billboard.com/#/column/chartbeat/chart-beat-wednesday-lady-gaga-reba-muse-1004056847.storyJust as impressively, a year ago this week, Lady Gaga had yet to lead the list. She first reigned 51 weeks ago, on the chart dated Jan. 24, 2009, when "Just Dance" began a two-week stay at the summit. The next three singles from her debut album, "The Fame," also ruled: "Poker Face" (five weeks, beginning April 25), "LoveGame" (two weeks, beginning July 25) and "Paparazzi" (two weeks, beginning Nov. 14). "Bad Romance" is the lead single from "The Fame Monster," which also includes the chart's No. 27 song, "Telephone," featuring Beyonce. www.billboard.com/#/column/chartbeat/chart-beat-wednesday-ke-ha-phil-collins-1004096363.storyHere is a look at the five female artists since 2000 to notch multiple Pop Songs toppers from their debut sets: Lady Gaga, debut album: "The Fame""Just Dance" (two weeks at No. 1, 2009) "Poker Face" (five weeks at No. 1, 2009) "LoveGame" (two weeks at No. 1, 2009) "Paparazzi" (two weeks at No. 1, 2009) Maybe they'll change their minds for their rules for these rankings are many times rather arbitrary.

The actual billboard chart treats it as one album, and has every week for the past 7 months. The only exception is the EP selling in SOME select markets. (emphasis on "EP") When The Fame Deluxe was released (2 disc with TFM) they started adding The Fame & The Fame Deluxe together as one, as it was a rerelease. The EP was a last second decision they threw into the mix in some countries. It's all in how Billboard charts it. Not how one employee at Billboard decided to word his article.

Of course Billboard lumps the original The Fame album with The Fame deluxe edition. But because The Fame Monster was released on its own, the new singles count as singles from that release- they just happen to be included in the re-release of The Fame, too. For instance, "Bad Romance," "Telephone" and "Alejandro" are not the fifth, sixth and seventh singles from The Fame; more accurate to say they're the first, second and third singles from The Fame Monster.
I do get what you're saying, but this is different, though, from Taylor Swift having- 13?- Hot 100 entries from Fearless, as there only was a re-release, and not a separately released EP containing the new tracks.

I understand that Billboard is putting together "The Fame/The Fame Monster Deluxe" and separating sales from "The Fame Monster EP". My post was in response to this particular assertion: It definitely is not the same as an original album charting without a re-release, but they are considered singles from one album for BB's purposes. Billboard has not been considering (so far), say, "Bad Romance" and "Just Dance" as singles from the same album. Perhaps I should have quoted it initially to avoid confusion... /lazy haha

Taylor's also never used re-releases to milk new singles, for better or for worse.
Also...I was looking stuff up for fun. Is Usher really the only artist in 20 years to have 3 songs that hit #1 in both the US & UK?

I did not realize BB did not count The Fame Monster singles as being from The Fame.
This seems like such a sketchy area... it seems a bit of a cheat then that re-releases don't have the same treatment. By making a more customer-friendly decision, Gaga appears to have nullified some potential chart achievements.
Oh well!

^Yah- if she had not released The Fame Monster as its own entity, then the new tracks would be widely regarded as fifth, sixth and seventh singles (even though I think all albums that see re-releases should be marked with an asterisk in regards to chart stats).

Rest assured, the average music listener does see it that way. Only us chart headz know the difference. ;) The Fame Monster is sold as its own individual album even though you can buy the album as a 2 pack with The Fame. Does the average music listener think Rihanna had 12 songs from one album because she kept releasing singles without a break? Maybe they do but same difference.

^Yeah, but Rihanna never had a "break" as brief as Gaga had between her 2 eras nor was her follow-up similarly titled to her previous effort, but I see your point.

I think the average person does know something about Lady GaGa, but no one really cares about chart positions, albums, and what Billboard considers the same album or an EP. Same for who got a #1 in the UK, when you live in the US.
