15. EMINEM - Love The Way You Lie f/Rihanna: 58.439 (+ 2.851) Nice! Also...I wonder if there's any chance of Usher stealing away Em's thunder and taking over after Katy's reign. Not if the LTWYL iTunes sales holds up.

What on earth happened to Rock That Body? They should have not released that as a single. -_- It went top 10...purpose served. Yup and left in a week which is pathetic.

I would have preferred it to be in the top 10 for at least three weeks then fall out of the top ten in one week.

Well I'm sure they would have preferred it to be number one for 14 weeks but a #9 peak for a 5th single is pretty good. One week in the top ten is better than none, not sure what you were expecting.

Top 10 is a success for any single....especially given the heavy competition at the time of RYB's release from newer songs from acts that are just as commercially viable as BEP is. It was lucky to get the week in the top 10 that it did get.

We've been oohing and ahing over the longevity of "I Gotta Feeling" on the chart, but if you ask me, there's another pretty impressive chart run being put together by Michael Buble's "Haven't Met You Yet." That song just spent its 40th week on the chart last week, and do you know what its peak is? #24! It was at #32 last week. I think that's pretty impressive. We'll see where it lands this week, but it should be OK for the foreseeable future.

It's like when singles debut at number one and then next week they drop and don't reclaim the top spot again.

RTB overperformed IMO, it's such an obnoxious song. I don't know anyone who likes it. In fact we were in the club last weekend and RTB came on and my friend (who had never heard the song) turned to me and was like "what the fuck is this mess?". I died laughing.

I liked RTB alot. Many others did as well based on it's Top 10 showing as a 5th single.

This whole BEP era overperformed. It was big prank with the industry: "Look how we can easily sell shit while you're whining about dying sales."

I gotta agree, RTB is also my favorite song from The END. I HATED Boom Boom Pow, I hated it from the start and I still hate it today.. and that song was a 12-week chart topper. There you go.

RTB was the s**t but by no means my fav from THE END. Is it still too late for Missing You. I certainly hope not. I say keep going. It's not like the song failed to reach top 10.

When's the last time an album produced 6 Top 40 hits without a re-release? Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Justin Timberlake all had re-releases to bolster their singles' chart performance. You might have to go back to the days of Janet and Michael spawning hit after hit from the same album. I can't remember if Shania Twain managed 6 top 40 hits, although she made the Hot 100 that many times from one album.

JT's re-release didn't do anything for its singles (Until The End Of Time was already riding high before the Beyonce version came out) so FS/LS was the last one.

Didn't Beyonce have 6 without a re-release?
IIWAB SL Diva Halo Ego Sweet Dreams
I know Video Phone was re-recorded but that didn't even hit the top 40 anyway. All the songs were from the original album.

Technically Taylor had more than 6 T40's even before the re-release. And unlike those other people many times over, she hasn't yet released a re-release song as an official single. & Glee Cast, Glee: The Music Volume 3: The Showstoppers . And I Am Sasha Fierce got 6 before the re-release. So did Futuresex/Lovesongs.
So...notsomuch.

I would strongly be in favor of an alternate version of the Hot 100 that focused on currently promoted singles. It does make it awfully hard to compare.
Is a song that spent 2 weeks on the chart but peaked in the top 20 bigger than a song that spent several months on the chart but peaked in the 30s? Chart stats are getting harder to parse int his environment.
