What if they have the track listing as 4. 8. 15. 16. 23. 42. xD Unfortunately that's only a 6 song album I don't think they did this because they're Lost fans, but because they just loved Garcia's big smiling face. Haha yeah, I read that. Oh well. You know, with no title or anything on the front people are going to see it in the store and be huge Lost fans and buy it instantly though, right? Kind of a little market scheme at the same time. xP

I don't really know what to make of this song. (Kinda don't even care that much, which seems odd.) All I know is I'm glad I stopped automatically buying Weezer albums after The Red Album.

I'm not quite sure what I think of this either. I like where they're going with the verses, and the general sound of this, but the chorus is slightly bordering on annoying. I'll have to see how I feel after hearing it on a regular basis.

Hm not sure what to think of this, either... either. Chorus kinda sounds like The Killers. It sounds slightly repetitive and rushed, however.

Well, I know I like it better than "I'm Your Daddy" and "Trippin' Down the Freeway." I at least know that much.

I love this song it is excellent. It isn't as good as Pinkterton material, but I mean thats like coming up with two the Dark Knights. I think Weezer is patronized way to much about there old stuff bands progress and change to stay relevant.
Anyway back to the song I hope it does well it reminds me of Strokes and Classic Weexer.

This is because all the radio stations this was on probably swaped it for "Memories". lol

I would like this song much more if the chorus wasn't so horrible. xD I hope the rest of the album isn't so cheesy.

Ehhh.....this isn't doing it for me.
With Cuomo saying there will be more raw rock energy this era, I wonder if "Hurley" will sound most reminiscent of "Maladroit". If it is, it might be a relief given I consider it their third best album to date behind "Pinkerton" and "The Blue Album".
But this single isn't a promising first impression it will live up to any of those eras.

So a lead Weezer single that's approaching the top 20 is near the end of Page 2? Wow guys, don't get too excited.
After hearing this again, I have to ask: is anyone listening to this and saying, "Wow, I loved that, I'll have to buy out the album once it comes out"? Or any song on the charts, for that matter?

I don't LOVE Jimmy Eat World, but their new single feels like a surefire big-time alternative radio hit, and I'm digging it a lot more than any single of theirs since "Work". I think "The Catalyst" is really awesome, but I'm not in the majority. I'm excited that A7X got their first #1 on active. I like Mumford & Sons, Anberlin, and Switchfoot all getting a piece of the alternative top 10. Serj Tankian's new single is about to disappear from active without doing any damage, but I really like that. The new Evans Blue, Trapt, Halestorm, Crash Kings, and 10 Years singles are all good. Broken Bells - "The High Road" just went recurrent and that song was good. I don't love "Forever", but I'm happy Sevendust's follow-up to "Unraveling" is at least doing something on active. Muse - "Undisclosed Desires" is an exciting track. Also, the '90s revivals currently charting from Soundgarden, Alice In Chains (I liked the other Black Gives Way To Blue singles more though), Bush, and especially STP (though I strongly disliked "Between The Lines") are all quite good. And finally, I find A Silent Film's debut single "You Will Leave A Mark" especially intriguing.
I'm also excited for "Release Me" by Taproot, "Frontlines" by Nonpoint, "You've Seen The Butcher" by Deftones, and "Growing Old Is Getting Old" by Silversun Pickups to hopefully appear on the charts soon.
That addresses your final sentence anyway. The new Weezer single was likable enough the one time I heard it, but didn't leave enough of an impression for me to actively seek out hearing it again. If my local alternative station starts shoving it in my face, then I liked it enough to listen again and not change the station.

That addresses your final sentence anyway. Yeah, that statement was a little broad. There's still some great songs being released, including some I love that I wouldn't want to hear an album from. Brandon Flowers, for example. The new Weezer single was likable enough the one time I heard it, but didn't leave enough of an impression for me to actively seek out hearing it again. If my local alternative station starts shoving it in my face, then I liked it enough to listen again and not change the station. A song doesn't have to be offensively bad for someone to feel indifferent towards it. I wouldn't turn this off, but I wouldn't beg to hear it, either. It's effectively radio "filler".

Yeah that was roughly my stance. So I guess that you were more surprised that no one else felt strongly about the new Weezer single, even though you didn't really yourself...
I mean, when "Pork And Beans" came out, there was a lot of excitement on this board (I didn't love it myself). I think Weezer has sorta oversaturated the market a bit over the last few years. I think if they take a break after this era, a new release will be much more welcome and fly up the chart much more quickly.

This is too soon. Everyone around our campus was playing Raditude. I've yet to meet anyone who even knows Weezer is coming up with a new album.

Weezer are definitely stretching themselves too thin. They're releasing this too shortly after their last album, especially considering that the two follow-up singles from that album didn't do so well. Plus, I think the general consensus is that this song just isn't that good. Maybe Rivers should just stick to singing hooks on crossover rap hits at this point.

I don't like this song. Sure the chorus is kinda catchy, but its an overall piece of junk. I didn't expect much from this because of the new album rush... I do like the title and album art though :) lol

Early reviews have indeed been strong for "Hurley". Interestingly enough, all agree that "Where's My Sex?" is the album's lowest point. It has also been consistently reported that "Run Away" and "Hang On" are considered the album's highlights, which the former features Ryan Adams. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Yea I finished listening and I'd give it a 75/100 I guess. The best songs were Unspoken, Brave New World, and Time Flies.

I swear to whatever is greater than I am, that NOBODY has a freaking sense of humor anymore. I think Where's My Sex? is absolutely hilarious and although the chorus is weak considering how bouncy the verses are, in a What Is Love head bobbing style I don't see it as a low point of any kind.
Holy crap, they said sex.....it must be a bad song.....give me a minute while I puke at the generalness of North America's overall conservative nature and lack of subtle humor.
note* - I went to this song first to see what the fuss was about, so it could still be the low point if EVERY other song is AWESOME.....wait, Memories is meh, so nope, not a low point for me.
I like Trainwrecks and Brave New World on first mini listens, ie) didn't listen to the whole song

Yet "Tired of Sex" is the first track on the much adored Pinkerton. It's actually my favorite song on there, too. But I've always been more of a "sound" guy, rather than "lyrics." (Not that "Tired of Sex" is cheap, low-brow trash. Not by a long shot.) All this talk about "sex" made me think of this: Sorry it's not in English, but the fact that it's in German makes it funny, nonetheless.
