Edit - "Rain" has since been uploaded (unofficially) to YouTube. I thought the first 3 minutes were really nice and fit the song well. Then the snow part happened.I think the director probably just really wanted to enforce what exactly 'RAIN' was a euphemism for.

SWV has announced three or four dates in October. Was hoping they'd pop up in Atlanta again.

This season is HEAVY. The first season worked because it was light and cheerful and had a laugh around every corner. This season is just... tense. I actually feel uncomfortable listening to LeLee's storyline in particular; seems way too personal to be eavesdropping on as a viewer. I heard they have FINALLY added "Downtown" to their set yesssssssssssss And Coko probably rolls her eyes the whole way thru it. LOL To be fair, she made a compromise whether she rolls her eyes or not. I actually think Coko is coming across much nicer than she did in season one.

Good episode tonight. I liked those tracks they recorded, but not surprising that the label isn't stepping up. It continues to be a complete mess - Marcus sure can talk a good game.....

Hold up --- did they just say "next week on the season finale of SWV Reunited"..... WTF? Has it been 10 episodes already? Wow.

No I saw it too. I'm hoping it as was an error. The show averages 1m+ in ratings so it's not up for cancelation.

That sucks though because their show is wayy more interesting than the Braxtons.

When Coko said Taj's voice sounded like she was doing 3 part harmonies with herself, I DIED!!
I think Coko comes off a lot better this season than she did last season. They're highlighting less of her diva bullshit, and more of Taj's bullshit in general.
The "Ain't No Man" song sounds hot. So does that song that samples "The Message," (well knowing Lamb, it samples "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down"). That Lelee and Taj song was the pits though. They have no career without Coko.
I am REALLY looking forward to their next album! "I Missed Us" was the best album of their career. If they put aside the group drama, they totally could re-establish a niche for themselves and regain some relevancy.

I don't know why they split it up in 6 episode seasons. Are the ratings bad or something? They are really unprofessional, and way too arrogant for a group who really hasn't been acknowledged by their core audience in like 15 years.
But those broads can still SANG. Here are some of their performances from WeTV and NAACPs Concert For A Cause.

Loved watching this season (although some moments were pretty heartbreaking). Glad to see them getting a 3rd one (or will it be like Season 2.5 - a la "Braxton Family Values"?) coming in January (I think that's what I saw from the season finale).

Let's hope they have the new album completed. The show would be good promo for a first single.

Yeah, I agree!
I kinda wish they'd get asked to do some Christmas shows (since they have a whole Christmas album worth of material). Is BET/Centric planning one this year?

DISCLAIMER: LONG READ
I've been wanting to comment in this thread for awhile. My process in becoming a SWV listener and Coko stan has been weird LOL. I've always known SWV but I'm into groups who heavily use harmony and have multiple leads (EV, DC, Brownstone) so SWV didn't appeal to me. I remember I'm So Into You was cute and that I loved the hell outta Anything with that fantastic bridge where Coko let go and let have. The girls at the talent shows would sing Weak but the recorded version never did much for me. And who could forget those damn footlong nails? Women are still rocking that style LOL. I never realized Rain was sung by a group until I bought SWV's greatest hits when they came back with I Missed Us. Before I go any further, I have to say that Rain personifies quiet storm radio to me. I used to stay listening to the radio during my teenage years and Power 98 would always start their quiet storm hour with this song and it would instantly relax and move me. One of the greatest songs EVER made. Fast forward to 2006, when I joined MCP's forum and there was this kid named Terrell that used to go UP for Coko's first gospel album. He tried to tell me how good it was but I wasn't sold on whatever song he told me to listen to mostly because of a lack of annointing. I remember people trying to tell me how great a singer Coko was but nothing I had heard from her electrified me. I took it as overblown fluff. I laughed so hard when SWV popped up during Alicia Keys' performance and not only looked a mess but sounded a mess too (Sorry Coko). The blogs had a field day with it and it just made me love my funky divas more.
I never thought anymore of them until the She Ain't You remix dropped and I'm like "who is killing these wails like that and damn these vocals have the same pizzazz that made me love Anything." Co-Sign comes out and I'm like "wait a minute, I didn't know Coko could blow like that" so now I'm interested in hearing this new album. I Missed Us made me love Coko's talent as one of the best lead singers of all time. I don't like Taj or LeLee's voices, they both sound like somebody's drunk aunt at the family cookout. When the producer autotune their voices correctly and place them in the right part of the song then they aren't as noticeable which makes for easier listening (Love Unconditionally, All About You, There'll Never Be) otherwise when they take lead I have to skip because I CAN'T DEAL (Best Years, Better Than I, I Missed Us). Their harmony is pretty much nonexistent as well which shows the greatness of Coko since she's the star attraction here. Do Ya, Keep Ya Home and Everything i Love are just perfection with how her voice glides up and down, bends here and swoop there like a master skier. I was told to go buy their greatest hits to really get a better sense of them as a group. So I did and I discovered the forgotten jazzy slow jam that is Use Your Heart. I couldn't believe that Taj could actually sound decent and add contrast to Coko. I didn't know LeLee sung on Can We, her part is real cute and leads to my second favorite BELT by Coko. I didn't realize they had so many hits but nothing really made me want to go further into their respective discography...
...well that was until this year's unveiling of SWV Reunited. This show has made me an actual fan of this iconic group (and a stan for Mrs. Clemons who serves up entitled only child brattiness with ghetto fabulous sassiness). I love how much personality they possess that doesn't come across in their music except on a few selected songs. I believe them as around the way broads being in touch with their freaky side, hoeing around with another woman's guy that made their biggest hits so memorable. They have so much material just based on LeLee's life experiences and Taj's home life for a classic album. I've hunted down all of their secular work and I understand why Coko couldn't make it solo. Besides the wrong singles, SWV gave her an identity that she didn't have on her solo recording. SWV never made a great album or had the best blend but they defined their era and have the rare ability to adept to a new generation without blinking an eye. Songs which showcase the best of SWV's interplay are buried on compilations dying to be heard and appreciated (Mystery, Surprise Me) while outside guests steal the scene and render them useless (Release Some Tension album). A mess. A lot of the songs just need a better arrangement and structure for not only the other girls to shine on but to support Coko's voice. I recently just streamed both of Coko's gospel albums and they are both such clear stellar statements of who Coko is as a vocalist and as an artist. She comes alive in ways that I didn't know she could. Her voice is truly a work of art and her command over it is awesome. I was sleeping hard on her skills because I now understand that Coko inspired alot of female singers from Ashanti to Beyonce (Destiny's Child first album) to Mariah (Fantasy remix). She's unsung and its a shame her gospel efforts went unawarded.
I'm excited for the next season of this show. While other reality shows made me dislike an artist I once loved, this show has made me appreciate an artist who I had ignored/dismissed long ago. Thanks Terrell, you were right.
