Probably better suited for radio than "Sextape", so a good choice.

I would still hope that "Sextape" would get a music video, but I'll guess that they just fully abandoned it. I think "Sextape" would do better at alternative than "Butcher", but this is probably the better choice for active. Those two songs along with "Beauty School" and "Diamond Eyes" are my four favorite tracks, so as Pen said, this is still a very strong choice.

My senior seminar at my university music program is in rhythm and meter. And while we're supposed to write about 19th or 20th century classical music for our final papers, this song as well as "Diamond Eyes" do some pretty interesting things with meter and time that I'm tempted to either write about them, Karnivool, or Meshuggah instead, and thus stick it to the Yale Music department. My grade may reflect that decision though.

I was rooting for "Sextape" to be the 2nd single and I'm still hoping it will get released sometime. Anyway, this a good song, I think it sounds good for radio and I dig the whole album, so I can only wish it success. :) If this goes top 30 on both Alternative and Active, then I'll say it did its job...  |

Unfortunately in the 3 days since then, it's dropped two spots and only gained 12 spins (on pace for a +28 week). I hope you guys are right though. I really am rooting for myself to be proven wrong.

"Sextape" and "Beauty School" are definitely Deftones' only shots off 'Diamond Eyes' at ever touching "Digital Bath" on alternative for a follow-up or 3rd single. "You've Seen The Butcher" may match "Back To School" if it does REALLY well.
