What is the point of posting those articles? We all know that she claimed she would never return to pop. Who cares? If it's such an issue, don't listen to her music or pay her any attention. It's really as simple as that. I know it doesn't put her in the most flattering light, but articles about future album plans are posted in nearly every thread on this board--flattering light or not.

It's really as simple as that. This is a music discussion board and her backpedaling (and possibly burning bridges to the pop world) is highly relevant to the discussion of her latest attempt in returning back to pop. There is no need to censor the discussion, IMO. Using your exact words, if it is such an issue, don't read the post or pay any attention. It's really as simple as that....

Does anyone know what the bonus tracks are on the Macy's edition of her album? I stopped by a Macy's store over the weekend to try and find her album but they weren't selling it.

You clearly were just looking for an excuse to pull out those articles and scream, "I told u so!11" Considering that I've hardly ever seen you post in any Jessica Simpson threads during my time on this board, I'd say it's pretty obvious that you have no actual, legitimate interest in discussing Jessica, her career, or her "latest attempt in returning back to pop." (Speaking of which, how is this her latest attempt? As far as I know, it's her first.) Using your exact words, if it is such an issue, don't read the post or pay any attention. It's really as simple as that... So clever! :o

Since Jessica's latest (second, not first) attempt at a pop music career is recently a majour headline on yahoo and other internet news sites, I, as others have also posted above me in this thread, thought it to be rather desperate to return to that world which she badmouthed less than two years ago, an interesting point of discussion on this discussion music board. I am actually quite interested to see how pop radio takes to her music if/when her upcoming pop record is released. It seems that discussing this has evoked some feelings of anger and irritation from you, so please feel free to use the ignore feature toward me, but please do NOT attempt to censor my or others' discussion of the matter.

She will need a major PR overhaul and major promotion for a new record to even make a dent anywhere.

^ Exactly. But even more important, she'll have to find a way to be relevant again. Perhaps a new Newlywed type of show where she can point out her quirks in discussing topics like Buffalo Wings and/or Chicken of the Sea, OR she puts out another edible cosmetic line or something in that vein? Remember when she came out with "I Wanna Love You Forever" and people actually took notice of her voice? I'd like to see her return to that.

Rejoyce opened with 152k so I'd expect this one to do about 15k at the most. 123 SIMPSON*JESSICA HAPPY CHRISTMAS 10,138 999 12 10,153

^ Ouch. Far cry from the 152k that Rejoyce debuted with 6 years ago. At least her voice is back.

I finally found a copy of her album at Macy's. It's $12.98 and the two bonus tracks are download-only. Haven't checked them yet though.

It's great that she'll do another Pop album, i hope that she comes up with some good stuff. Who has picked up her Christmas album ? I'm not a huge Jessica fan, but I have definitely enjoyed songs on each one of her pop records. I do agree that it wasn't the smartest thing to say she'd never go back to pop in those articles, but if she can come out with a strong record, I don't really think anyone will shun her just because of those statements.

Sep 6, 2011 11:31am Jessica Simpson Not Downsizing Her BustlineJessica Simpson is used to her body being the subject of tabloid scrutiny. According to the latest report, the pop-star-turned-country crooner is fed up with the ample, ahem, assets that helped bring her fame and has opted for breast reduction surgery. “She’s never loved having a huge chest,” the U.K. tabloid The Sun quoted a friend saying. The report added that Simpson is hoping to slim down before her November wedding to NFL player Eric Johnson. Simpson’s rep declined to comment. But a source familiar with the singer’s plans told ABCNews.com that Simpson had no plans of getting a breast reduction and hasn’t even set a wedding date. In the past, Simpson’s own father, Joe Simpson, a former Baptist minister, got into hot water when he famously bragged about his daughter’s bosom. “Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy,” he told the New York Post’s PageSix.com in 2004. “If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double Ds! You can’t cover those suckers up!” Recently, Simpson appeared to have made peace with her body. After she endured a public hazing when she dared to wear a pair of high-waist jeans at a 2009 concert, showing off a more curvaceous figure, Simpson headlined VH1′s reality series, “The Price of Beauty” in which she traveled the world in search of what people find beautiful and why. “I have always believed that beauty comes from within, and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect,” Simpson said in a statement to ABCNews.com before the show aired in 2009. “I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful.” One person who thinks Simpson is beautiful is Johnson. They began dating last May and got engaged in November. In keeping with his former 49er colors, Johnson gave Simpson a Neil Lane ruby ring flanked by two diamonds. OK! magazine estimated the cost of the ring at $185,000, “because it’s a ruby and because of its rareness.” Explaining how well their relationship was working, Simpson told People last year, “This is just normal, thank God. He’s very, very supportive. couldn’t ask for a better man in my life right now.”
Asked if Johnson were the one, she replied: “I never go to that because I already went there, so I’m not gonna jinx my own self. He’s the one for me right now! I’m very happy. I’m in a great place and if right now could last forever, I’d take it.”

Nice to see that she's still getting work. Any news on a album in the works? Wasn't she going in with Tricky & Dream again?

I wish she would just release a new, good pop album and get some credibility in the music world back. I was a HUGE fan of hers when she first started out and Sweet Kisses is still one of my favorite pop albums, and it's a shame that I had to watch her go from being one of my favorite pop singers to a total joke. I love her fashion line and everything but she needs to stop with this reality shit and get back to doing what she became famous for in the first place - her music. It seems like the more reality shows she does, the less she's taken seriously. At this point she's just famous for being famous to me, which is really a shame because I thought she had a great voice back in the day.

I think by the time she became famous for her reality shit, most of that audience didn't even hear her first album. Unfortunately, she's never going to be taken seriously.

I really want a new pop album from her. I really got into A Public Affair recently (even though the lead single was crap) and would love to hear more from her. I hope she hasn't given up on music just yet (the way the tabloids seemed to report it when she wasn't chosen for X-Factor).

She needs to make a great album. She can do it. I'm hoping for another In This Skin. That album was perfect in just about every way - vocally, lyrically, melodically, etc., etc.

A crazy person wrote a ‘book’ about Jessica Simpson …September 13, 2011 11:44 AM by Jeremy Feist Because occasionally, celebrity stalkers are more “hilariously batshit insane” then “violent and stabby”, a man who’s been harassing Jessica Simpson over what he perceives to be some sort of romantic connection between the two has gone ahead and self-published his own book about how Jessica seduced and banged him, despite the fact that the two of them have never met. According to TMZ: We contacted Burchell … and part of his 1,732 word response was, “This book was not written to hurt her, but was written as my only way to heal emotionally from the severe trauma and pain she put me through by her heartless cruel treatment of me.” Burchell also wants to challenge Jess’ fiance Eric Johnson to a marathon — winner gets to marry Jessica. Struggling authors, take note: if you’re stuck on a writer’s block, or you’re convinced that you’re not a good enough writer to finish a novel, take comfort in knowing that a guy who thinks that a marathon can lead to a binding marital contract wrote and published a book that is currently being talked about on TMZ. And if that doesn’t do it for you, Tucker Max wrote a book that was subsequently adapted into a movie, and I’m pretty sure he’s a date rapist with fetal alcohol syndrome.
