Why did he release this so late this year? I recall it being released much earlier last year which helped it peak so high. After tomorrow I'm sure it will drop quickly.

Anyone know how a list from pre-2005 would compare to this? I imagine it'd be ALOT longer.

^^So then what made "3" debut at #1 on the Hot 100? Her "comeback" hype was long gone by then so it's clear she has very good front-loaded digital sales which will almost gaurantee her a huge opening. That's why I wouldn't under estimate her.

Slave is not only my favorite Britney song, but my favorite song of all-time, period. Not only is the song perfect, but the video is the perfect visual and let's not get started on the choreography and all of her live performances of it. Sheer perfection. I can't even begin to explain how perfect the song is, all of the moaning, panting, sexy vocals, that perfect Hip Hop beat mixed with the Mediterranean feel of it + the belly dancing choreography, I can't even anymore. I will patiently wait as long as possible if it means getting a Slave 2011. I've yet to listen to a Britney song that I've loved as much as Slave, can't wait!!! Yes, yes and yes! "Slave" is absolute perfection. Her best song AND video hands down.

Beyonced will have #1 this year too. I Am.. world Tour sold 108k in just 4wks. (68k first 2wks and 40k next 2wks) it make #3 on year to date Music DVD chart. and it's not over yet while #1 and #2 just above 112k, Beyonce easily pass them and will be #1. (#1 -Rush's Beyond The Lighted Stage , #2 - Michael Jackson's Live In Bucharest) and it's 4wks at #1 so far and probably #1 this week too. and the amazing thing is 'I Am yours' was #1 music DVD last year so it's 2009 - I Am Yours 2010 - I Am World Tour It's official :) In just five weeks of release, Beyonce's I Am...World Tour has become the best-selling music video of 2010. The title has sold 132,000 copies. It tops Rush's Beyond The Lighted Stage, which has sold 118,000 copies in 26 weeks and Michael Jackson's Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour, which has sold 116,000 copies during the entire year. And yeah, a 3-way battle between Bey, Brit and GaGa would be epic!

The most notable difference here between Riri and these other pop artists is that she is on album #5 whereas others are just starting out. Judging by that she should have a solid fanbase and she should be selling alot more than them (the Katy's and Kesha's).

GaGa has never been a big first week seller. Didn't 'Bad Romance' not even make it to 200k its first week? Britney. Yeah it sold 180k or something like that. That was to be expected though, I'd say people viewed it as single #5 moreso than a brand new single from a new era. Had Bad Romance been released after a short hiatus I'm sure it's first week sales would have been significantly higher. Really good poll, but I think I'd give the edge to Britney. Someone should do a poll for higher bullet on pop (someting we can actually compare after both are released) :)

I can't see this doing better than "Your Love" on pop but I'm up for a surprise.

9 #1 singles 0 #1 albums
Judging by that alone, it would *seem* that she is a singles artist but of course there are many other factors to be considered. I think she is actually transitioning from a singles artist to a "singles+albums artist" right now.

The effect took place with today's update. "What's My Name?" gained 12m+. The highest was Firework, though, with 12.811 AI gained. I wonder what the new spin peak will be now.

Ugh, all this waiting is killing me! I have a feeling she'll wait till late next year to release anything but I really hope she doesn't. Single in the spring and then album in the summer would be perfect. Please Bey!

A song goes up by name alone the first 2 weeks or so, if the public considers the song trash, MOST radio stations will decrease their play. So no, this isn't a hit just because of the name, there's a reason it's been increasing every week. Agreed. People need to let it go. Just because you don't like a song doesn't mean it's only doing well because of the name behind it.

Un-thinkable for sure. Love me some Usher, but TGMB can't compete with Alicia's 2nd best tune (after Diary).

^^Coming out and saying she's quiting because her solo career is finally taking off is silly and her PR team would never allow for that, even though it is true.
Glad to see her finally getting a hit somewhere!

Yeah I'm very surprised the soundtrack is doing as well as it is. She's definitely not completely in the hole yet. I believe she can make a comeback with the right material.

^^Monster never had an adds date did it? I thought stations just started spinning it on their own. Regardless, even if it was never released it'd be hard to make it a single in the future.

Thanks for this chart! Wow at "The Way I Are" charting for 167 weeks and re-entering the top 100. Single Ladies is also doing very well "recurrently" even though it had an epic drop from the top spot .

When are the Billboard awards? No doubt Rih should win big considering she had 4 #1's in 2010 They no longer televise the Awards show. Haven't for a couple of years now. And congrats on your 9th ( :o) #1 Riri!

At least Chris Brown didn't win :X Trey > Chris > Usher, tbh Reverse that and then I agree . Usher's been lacking lately, but nothing Trey and Chris have done tops "U Got it Bad".

Yes Bey! Any bit of news will do. She's very ambitous to want to create her own genre even though it's clear electro/dance pop is the big seller these days. I just hope she doesn't go *too* off course with this direction though, a la Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm. I assume she's learned from that though.
I really hope we get a single by at least February :(
