Probably the biggest event single of the decade thus far, it completely dwarfed all other music discussion for almost 2 months and the track still remains a club staple until this day. I see people reference this a lot including the outrage such as Ben Shaprio's "wet ass p word" bullshit, it was a very good distraction from what was a pretty dismal time in the world. It honestly feels very monumental, especially in the late Trump era and now in 2022 with the whole Roe v. Wade overturning.
Cardi has lots of hits and will continue to have hits, but WAP will likely remain as her biggest hit.

Not my cup of tea, but the video and lyrics are iconic. I'll give them that.

The song may have been polarizing, but can't deny its vibe and its impact to the start of the decade (especially when that said year was a quiet one with all of the stuff)

It was certainly a pop culture moment, but that doesnโt always make for a good song. They have both done better and I donโt revisit it.

I'd say this is the defining song of the COVID-19 era.

Fantastic. Megan should have been a co-lead on this. Two years later and still no album.

The word โiconicโ has been tossed around so much that itโs lost its meaning, but there really is no better descriptor for this song. I will never forget my first time hearing this, and the overall joy it brought me at a moment when I (and the world) really needed it.

Let's call it what it was, a cultural reset.

Let's call it what it was, a cultural reset. It seems like the world gets hornier each day on its own, but this song definitely sped up the process! Also, WOP >

The definition of iconic. This song and music video had a chokehold on pop culture in 2020.
