"Giving Up on That" had an undeniably good melody and something about his vocal on it really found a nice comfortable sweet spot, but essentially everything else I've heard from Dalton Dover to date has been underwhelming for me, this song included. It's very Luke Combs-coded in the production and shouty vocal, except Dalton just doesn't have the oomph in his performance that would've elevated this the way Luke's would have, and even then this probably would've been a middling song in his catalog for me. Wish "Giving" could've done better for him at radio as there was something magical about that one, but I just don't see this one standing out enough to surpass the chart performance of it.
