I'm happy to see her getting another attempt! This song has a catchier melody than her debut, so hopefully more stations would pick up this song and she can eventually chart.

Also glad to see they're pushing another single. Rebel is one of only 4 albums released in 2024 thus far to debut in the top 10 of the country albums chart, and the others are obvious big names (Beyonce, Kacey, Kenny), so there's clearly a big audience for Anne Wilson out there. Would love to see this crack the charts at the very least. It's quite catchy and more radio-ready as 🌺CountryLineDancer said above, and the song's hook ("That's why I sing songs about Jesus / Instead of singing songs about whiskey") is so cleverly presented imo. Love the album, too! She's got a lot of great options other than this if they should eventually need and/or want to try a third single @ country radio.

Just realized Sierra Ferrell's latest album is the 5th highest debut in terms of rank. Deserved though. I do think this is radio-ready because well, like some other songs from this vein it references radio after all, but the hook doesn't really work for me and feel like a laundry list style writing effort.

This is a good selection for single, was a stand out on my first listen to the album.
Will be interesting to see if radio takes to her after the chilly reception of the first single.
