Hoping You Da One doesnt affect We Found Love too much.
A third week at #1 seems pretty plausible though.

What other big singles are coming out in the next few weeks? Given the rate of the airplay growth, this could very well stay #1 for the rest of the month and possibly through the new year if there isn't any new competition. That's what happened to 'TiK ToK' back in 2009. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again.

Surprised how well this is doing.. I find it very boring, there are loads of better songs on the album.

Also it would be good if it does because she needs more #1s that have longevity.

^It would boost her on Billboard's all-time acts chart, but other than that...

it would be crazy but anyone here shares the same thought that Adele's SLY will return to the top next week after Glee? The video was trending on Twitter 6 hours ago.

Unless Taylor's singles sell a ridiculous amount between now and Sunday a third week is pretty much in the bag and by next week Taylor's tracks should lose some steam. Riri has massive airplay and is rising and her sales are consistent I can't see anyone dethroning her for awhile. Especially since next week she'll be on xfactor and album release day she'll be on Ellen not to mention any other promo she'll tape while in the US. Up until yesterday I would have been worried about Katy releasing her video but with Taylor so strong I think she'll keep Katy at bay.

If this were the Glee of last year, I'd say it's a possibility. Based on sales and ratings, Glee's not having the impact it did a year ago. Maybe it'll help her stay in the top 3.

Yeah, Katy isnt "exploding" in airplay like her previous singles, which is expected since this is indeed the 6th single I see the song propelling into the Top 10, or Top 5 tomorrow after the video release. She also has the AMA's and Ellen coming up as well. Not sure if that promo would be enough to take the song to #1 on Itunes, but it would still have a ton to make up for the massive airplay gap. If Katy doesnt do it, WFL could very well stay at #1 the rest of the month, or maybe the rest of the year if its sales sustain during the freeze.

Dunno about Katy, but if YDO gets lodged at #2 behind another Rihanna song there's no way the current IDJ team wouldn't find a way to flip the 2.

No way, SFTTR is coming for that number 1 soon (thinking it'll get that big Christmas digital #1)

Does SFTTR have a pop radio adds date yet? Unless it's going for adds right now, I don't think it will be big yet at Christmas -- more likely early next year. Her songs grow more gradually than somebody like Rihanna.

Her songs grow more gradually than somebody like Rihanna. SLY went up the chart faster than WFL having constant 3mil+ updates for a good week or so (with even a 4mil+ update or two), so I wouldn't be surprised if SFTTR rises quite fast. No way, SFTTR is coming for that number 1 soon (thinking it'll get that big Christmas digital #1) However I don't see this happening. She's recently had surgery on her throat and won't be performing anymore this year, so SFTTR would have to rely on airplay for its sales which I don't think will be enough.

SLY wasn't getting 3m+ update the moment it went for adds, though. And on top of that, RITD had been falling awhile when SLY was promoted. And this was referring more to sales anyway - it took the VMAs for SLY to explode there. It's unlikely SFTTR is gonna rocket to #1 on sales based on just a week and a half of post-adds date airplay.

Female with most Hot 100 Entries
Aretha Franklin: 73 Dionne Warwick: 56 Madonna: 55 Connie Francis: 53 Brenda Lee: 48 Mariah Carey: 44 Barbra Streisand: 41 Diana Ross: 40 Janet Jackson: 39 Whitney Houston: 39 Taylor Swift: 39
Unbelievable, how this week, Swift will add 3 more Hot 100 entries, leaving some legends, a proof how in this digital era, charting on Hot 100 is easy as hell, especially cos Billboard allow any song from a new album to chart if sales are enough

Billboard has always allowed any single song to chart if sales are enough. Nothing has changed.

^Well, as we know, there was some odd rule about 12-inch-onloy singles in 1985. ;) (though it didn't apply to the Black singles chart chart, apparently).
It is true that the digital era has made it easier for non-radio-promote tracks to chart. All is fair in the digital world and the charts.

^Stations are preparing early for the SFTTR onslaught to come. Plus, remember that this month that a bulk of AC stations will be turning to holiday music. SLY currently is No. 1 at AC- and nothing the Mediabase AC top 10 has a bullet at the moment. Hot AC also has a bulletless top 10.

They also do not allow older non promoted songs to chart even with sufficient sales. There are plenty of rules around this. There was also the rule that excluded physical singles sold only at one retailer. Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses" had a limited edition single at Christian book stores but the exclusive nature of that release caused Billboard to disqualify it.

^That could be, but that single also was released as a 7-inch vinyl, for which any sales of those did not count toward the Hot 100 at that time (as they primarily were serviced to jukebox dealers).
