1. GOTYE - Somebody That I Used To Know: 192.296 (+ 2.039)
I do not understand this song's popularity. It's OK, don't get me wrong, but almost 200 mil? That's just laughable. The sad part, IMO, is that if this song gets to 200mil people we be like "ER...MAH...GERD! The last person to do it was Mariah/Beyonce/whoever!!" when, in reality, STIUTK is benefiting from the radio audience change that occurred a few months back. Adele clearly would have had AT LEAST 2 songs cross that mark had she had the benefit of the updated audience. I mean, has anyone else noticed how many songs nonchalantly get 130mil+? It used to be a huge accomplishment to get that high. Now? not so much. It's basically expected.
14. JUSTIN BIEBER - Boyfriend: 75.355 (+ 1.082) 15. RIHANNA - Where Have You Been: 75.293 (+ 1.289) 16. USHER - Scream: 71.119 (+ 1.017)
Also, I'm glad these songs are picking up. However, I don't understand Bieber's resurgence in the past week. Isn't it too late for payola? LOL.

It used to be a huge accomplishment to get that high. Now? not so much. It's basically expected. Well, yes, but the reason Mariah, Beyoncé, Usher, etc. were all getting 200+ mill back then was for the same reason. The panels back then were much larger, even larger than they are right now. This is very similar to the spin records over on CHR. How Katy Perry holds the record for highest spin count for "Last Friday Night," but the panel changes there all of that time, and in fact if we divide spins by the number of stations on the panel, then "E.T." should actually hold the record. (Cool how Katy has both records, but with two different songs.) I wish we could do that with AI as well, but it's so much harder considering how much AI a station receives changes all of the time. Even one spin at Z100 now isn't the same as one spin at the exact same time at Z100 three years ago. It's crazy!

'WHYB': #11 on Hot 100, #13 on Pop 'Scream': #13 on Hot 100, #11 on Pop It's neat when two songs follow each other up the chart like this. Someone else (sorry that I can't remember who) made the comparison to SAIKI & WFL, and I totally agree.

Great gains for Carrie! Hopefully it still holds itself well on HAC since it's #1 on Country now and will likely fall soon enough for Blown Away to get released.

I don't think "Somebody That I Used To Know" will manage 200 million, but it would be great if it could. If I recall correctly, the last song to peak over 190 million was "No One", at roughly 192 million. Now that "Somebody That I Used To Know" has passed that milestone, would it be the highest audience peaker since "Irreplaceable" (233 million), or is there something I've missed?

I have 255 million for "We Belong Together", with the source being the second post on this page. That site lists the top 6 as follows: "We Belong Together" (255 million), "Irreplaceable" (233 million), "Shake It Off" (218 million), "Check On It" (206 million), "Let Me Love You" (203 million) and "Be Without You" (201 million). It also lists three more, "Yeah!" (198 million), "Don't Forget About Us" (196 million) and "No One" (192 million), but however, it says "other large peaks" before those three (assuming that's what "outros grandes peaks" means), which leads me to believe that those three may be an incomplete section, rather than the songs in seventh, eighth and ninth place.

I believe there was a larger panel, but also, records like "We Belong Together" appealed to pop, rhythmic, urban, urban AC, hot AC and AC, which is basically everything except country and rock. Because of changes in popular genres, very few recent records have been able to compare to that kind of multi-format appeal that many songs in the mid-'00s managed to achieve.

Thanks! It's very weird that songs like Let Me Love You and Check on It (whilst good songs) would have appealed to all except country and rock but I guess they did.
Now STIUTK have rock stations on it's side but of course not urban. Is it getting any love from country radio?
