Face it, there are heaps of people out there with record deals that have amazing voices, but for whatever reason, are not as popular as they should be. I was wondering who you all think deserves the title of "Most Under-Rated Vocalist?" I'll kick it off and say the wonderful LeAnn Rimes. The woman can sing any and everything. Yeah, she has a solid career (over 40 million in sales), one that many, many people would love to have, but she hasn't had a bona-fide hit since "Something's Gotta Give" hit #2 on Billboard (#1 on Radio and Records) in 2005. "Nothin' Better To Do" did reach #14 and topped the dance chart (first time a country artist has hit #1 on both the Country and Dance charts) but with Carrie Undwerwood and Taylor Swift dominating the female side of country, LeAnn is left on the out-side looking in.

I think Britney Spears has an underrated voice. Just because she doesn't belt when she sings, or has a 5 octave voice...I find her voice to be more pleasent then those big voiced divas.

Bjork - I know she does get a lot of praise for her voice, but people seem to forget her when talking about big-voiced divas. She can belt like the best of them when she wants to and she has so much emotion in her. She always knows exactly what to do with her voice to bring out the right emotions.

I think I've read quite a lot of praise for Natalie's voice, and the Dixie Chicks are of course, pretty well-known worldwide, so I don't know if I would consider her "under-rated".
Gary Allan would be my choice. Sure, the critics absolutely adore him, but despite a handful of hits to his credit, I think he still maintains a pretty low-key presence in the public eyes. With a voice like that (not to mention his extremely solid catalog), he should be a superstar, in the vein of Brad Paisley or Keith Urban.
Also, Miranda Lambert. A lot of people have praised the excellence of her musical outputs, but I feel she needs more credit regarding her voice. Sure, she doesn't have the biggest voice there is, but this girl really is quite adept at infusing a song with just the appropriate attitude and emotion, and to me she is a way more effective vocalist than all those soulless belters.

The girl from Cascada has a nice voice. She doesn't seem to care about it and hardly shows her potential anyways, because the main appeal of their songs is the beat and the production.
