And I wouldn't consider it a performance per say; however, 2 Chainz laying down on a skateboard and skating across the stage >>

1. Taylor 2. P!nk 3. Alicia
There really weren't that many! But I'd say Taylor's was the most memorable, just how she walked out of the arena w/ a standing O.

Taylor I find it hilarious that a country-crossover artist doing her first real pop song outshined all the other seasoned popular artists.

Taylor's performance looked like an episode of Glee.
No stand out performances tonight imo. Voted for 1D out of standom.

08. 2Chainz — he performed? (I'm serious.) 07. Green Day — whatever it was they performed could've easily been lifted from Kelly Osbourne's debut album. Was it? I really don't know. MTV should not feel obliged to satisfy some OLD-TIMEY quota and allow themselves to continue inviting 'vets' like these whom are far past their prime. 06. Alicia Keys — I like to call this piece 'Screaming Over a Pillow of Drums' as performed by a caramel-coated Ellen Ripley. Regrettably, the positive does not outweigh the negative here. 05. P!nk — for a moment there, P!nk commanded my attention for the first time in a decade. And then, BOOM! 2012. 04. Rihanna — a complete non-performance absolved by a non-performer's sheer star power. 03. Taylor Swift — nice exit. 02. Frank Ocean — Zoe Saldana, who read off the teleprompter and beamed at her designated camera like a hostage in some country you can't place on a map would, distinguished Ocean as a kind of real musician; or, rather, the anointed one and possible answer to our prayers. I really hate that shit, you know? She's not to blame, though. The American music press is. And it's because of them we're stuck with Alicia Keys. But Frank isn't Alicia, thank goodness. 01. One Direction — I want to destroy Zayn Malik's asshole.

I loved Frank Oceans and Pink performance's, Alicia was pretty good too, Rihanna is always a dead fish on stage she should just record and not perform.

okay okay, just watched them. 1. Pink - I'll admit, I wouldn't have minded if she continued the "Get the Party Started" performance. But I enjoyed this one a lot. It wasn't anything spectacular... but neither were the others. 2. Frank Ocean - I thought his voice was gonna break any second. But it didn't. He sounded really good actually, even in falsetto. 3. One Direction - They sounded surprisingly good, especially when singing together. Was this pre-recorded? King Louis was merciless to the other 4 though, he didn't have to outshine the, like that 4. Taylor Swift - Aside from her awkward, white-girl-dancing? Cute. 5. Rihanna - UGH. Hate Cockiness. I appreciate her trying to dance and become a better performer though. She's a damn mess for trying to belt out We Found Love, but if she could sing, I'd like the ballad-type vocal on the song. Kind of makes me wanna hear Kelly's take on it now, in ballad form obvi. 6. Alicia Keys - This girl is on fiyahhhhkkkKKKKkkhhhhhh. We found Christina Aguilera's successor. Greenday just doesn't interest me enough, so I didn't watch. I imagine it's no different than any other performance by a rock band.

I surprisingly enjoyed Taylor's. For one, she didn't bore me and sound like absolute shit. :)

01. P!nk ... and it wasn't even that great. 02. One Direction ... Katy Perry was the best part of it. Louis, what's the matter with your hair? Pointless song choice, too. 03. Taylor Swift ... only liked it because the song's great. 04. Frank Ocean ... guess it was okay. 05. Alicia Keys ... even Nicki couldn't save this. Maybe she would've if she didn't stare at the ground. 06. 2 Chainz ... never liked him. 07. Rihanna ... entire performance was awful. "Cockiness (Love It)" is a terrible song. 08. Green Day ... they still exist?

P!nk was worse than her usual but it still was the best of the night. Taylor was better than her usual so she was my second favourite (with that horrendous song). Frank Ocean was just beautiful. One Direction were their usual. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. I didn't really understand the song choice.
