Written by: Casey James, Brice Long and Terry McBride Official Add Date: August 15th Sent to radio: This week Sources: USA Today and Casey announced it himself via twitter.**Hopefully this is okay, if not please feel free to close it. I have been sitting on this for a few days until something official came up. I figured since that article had an add's date that would cover it.

I hate that title, and never really liked Casey but, for some unknown reason, am looking forward to this.

I thought he was being billed as the "Casey James Band"?

I thought he was being billed as the "Casey James Band"? They dropped the band idea.

I was wondering how everybody knew of this guy and I didn't , so I googled him and read where he was another AI contestant (joy, joy). After You Tubing a couple of his performances , I don't hear a country singer at all..... or a compelling singer in general really. He's pretty but that's about the only compliment I can give him.

He never struck me as a country artist at all, nor was he marketed on the show like he was one. It seems like every season they try to find at least 1 country contestant on that show, and if they don't have one, they turn someone into one to fit that role (Danny Gokey, Phil Stacey, and now Casey James). I'd much rather they find some "true" country artists like they did this past season w/ Lauren and Scotty. America obviously likes them better, as they made up the top two. And Kellie Pickler is one of my Top 3 fave country artists; I'm so glad that she got discovered.

Not my favorite of his, but it has a nice blues feel. "The grammar usage (of lack thereof) in this song title drives me nuts. " I hate that trend too; like all country fans are uneducated Kinda like Jerrod's "Baby you don't treat me no good no more".

Kinda like Jerrod's "Baby you don't treat me no good no more". The irony is that the song was originally a pop song and the title was "You Don't Treat Me No Good" but he changed it to "Lover, Lover" when he covered it. So at least he made the title less cringeworthy. I don't have an issue with grammar in song titles/lyrics usually, but two contractions like that (Let's Don't) is pushing the limit.

I love this sound, Reminds of a cross between Otis Redding & Travis Tritt. I loved Casey when on Idol & looking forward to an album of this style of music.

I'll stick with Scotty. I just like his more classic sound better.
He reminds me of what Danny Gokey has tried to do. Both have good songs and voices but he and Casey are just too pop/bluesy sounding for Country. This needs pushed to the AC format, not Country.

Decent, but I don't think he'll make it very far in the Country music business, to be honest. He's got talent, but he's lost so much relevancy, and I can't see this song doing super-great on radio or charts. It's a decent song, but it's not a hit. And that title. -_________- $5.99 at your local Barnes & Noble. GO.

His vocal quality doesn't appeal to me much, and the song is pretty generic although it's listenable. The bluesy touches are nice, not sure it is the type of thing my local stations would typically ever play.

Was not a fan of Casey on American Idol - his voice had too much vibrato. I actually thought he was one of the weaker singers. With that said, his voice sounds better recorded but don't care much for the song.

I didn't realize this guy was signed to BNA until I saw it in this weeks BCU, so I figured I better give this song a listen. And for an AI carpetbagger, he has a surprisingly good voice, but the song just isn't very good. I'm not a grammar nut, but the whole Let's Don't thing is both irritating and makes for a clunky hook. I could see this maybe cracking the T40, but I don't expect it much further than that.

I wasn't a fan of him on the show really either but recorded he sounds solid in this song. He actually sounds like Chuck Wicks lite to me.

I must say I do find it a bit interesting that some people question whether Casey James is really country or not, I didn't really think it would ever be much of an issue with him. Most people I know thought from the beginning that Casey James is pretty much country. Or lets put it this way he definitely has something country about him, his first performance on American Idol, Bryan Adams - Heaven, he did in a country manner. Before the show even really started he said he wanted to produce a country/ blues/ rock album, and he has maintain that throughout. He has played in country bands before American Idol. But he does like to mix genres he has many sides to him, most of his songs are a mixture of country, blues and rock. But he has also got some straight-up country songs, rocks songs and blues songs. Perhaps it is more Texas country in general. As for Casey on American Idol, the show was never really the right venue for the type of artist that he is. As from his own mouth, he is more of a musician or a guitar player then a singer. I also found his vibrato distracting at times when he was on American Idol, but since he has been gone from American Idol, he has almost completely lost the vibrato. He is just much better overall since his American Idol days, as I said I don't think the show was ever really the right avenue for him. Although I do actually think he's got a good voice, his voice has a distinctive tone with a lot of texture, and he does emote well. Personally I think he is an interesting one to follow, simply because unlike other American idol contestants, he didn't just produce an album as quickly as possible, he is being marketed more as a new artist then an American Idol contestant. He has been writing songs and doing a lot of gigs for over a year now. BNA give him a lot of time for artist development, but his American idol fanbase is also long gone by now. Therefore I think it should be interesting to see how this turns out. Lets don't call it a night, is definitely not one of his best songs, but I can see why they have chosen it for the first single. Here is a live acoustic performance of Lets don't call it a night and another song he did on the Big D & Bubba's show on Friday. Lets dont call it a night www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYeNbs0RadUWhy I'am feeling blue (This one is pretty much straight forward country) dl.dropbox.com/u/23094782/Casey%20James%20-%20Why%20I%27m%20Feelin%27%20Blue%20%28Big%20D%20%26Bubba%29.mp3

I was not a fan of this song when I first heard it, but I like how he changed the arrangement and almost gave the song an R&B vibe. It's pretty catchy and his voice sounds great. But, I agree with what some have said, "Let's Don't" discuss the wording!!

Why couldn't it be titled "Let's Not Call It a Night"?
