Dolly Parton's new album will be titled "Better Day" there was not a released date for the album. I hope its not too far off! And fingers crossed that she releases some singles that are able to chart... even if they don't get too far, like "Better Get to Livin'" and "Jesus & Gravity." Still can't believe radio won't play her. Those & "Backwoods Barbie" should've been hits! I heard Jesus & Gravity on the radio a good amount of times. Loved it.

I heard Jesus & Gravity on the radio a good amount of times. Loved it. I never heard it, and it was only on the charts for a few weeks and peaked at #56. =/ She turned me into a diehard Dolly fan after she performed "J&G" on American Idol when Backwoods Barbie was just released, so I bought the album, and I fell in love with it.

Backwoods Barbie was an amazing song by Dolly! The lyrics were so true, she's a class act.

hmm interesting track choice for Emerson Drive's greatest hits album.
I wonder why some of their other hits were passed over, I think "Only God", "Still Got Yesterday", "Waiting On Me" and "You Stil Own Me" all could've been put on.

^Hmm, I hadn't noticed that. But that is strange. Anyway, I really wish these guys could re-gain traction here in the US. I really liked "That Kind Of Beautiful", and thought it should've charted this fall...heck, if that one had followed "Moments" or another of their bigger hits, it could've easily been a top 10 hit or better, imo. I think some poor single choices doomed these guys, at least here in the US. They just couldn't sustain any success or momentum. "I Should Be Sleeping", "Fall Into Me", and "Moments" remain as 3 of my top 50 favorites from this past decade, really. (Yes, I'm a big nerd, I compile lists of my favorite songs like that...lol)

Oh-oh, I see a Kara DioGuardi cut. How could Carrie Underwood let that one slip by?

countryhistorian, Kara's unfortunate penetration of the country format started well before Carrie. DioGuardi co-wrote "Lost" from Faith Hill's greatest hits set and she had an album cut on Rascal Flatts' "Still Feels Good." Since working with Carrie, she has also co-written with Lee Ann Womack and Dierks Bentley (according to Kara's blogs), scored an album cut via a co-write with The Band Perry, and she has co-written Darius Rucker's current single, as well. In any event, the Henningsens have recorded a version of the song "Alone" that I assume is the same song as the one that Sara recorded for her album. You can listen to it on their iLike page.

Bluegrass version of Born To Fly? That should be nice. But it makes only nine new songs after all.

I am a little disappointed that there are only ten songs on the new Sara album and with there being a bluegrass version of Born To Fly that only makes nine new songs. I was expecting at least eleven or twelve songs on the album

Didn't expect to see one this soon. I guess they scratched the one she released earlier last year--Feels Just Like a Love Song or something like that.

"You Still Own Me" wasn't a Canadian single for them as far as I Know. It was for the songwriter on the song, Johnny Reid.

Sara's new album sounds like its gonna be great! I love "What That Drink Cost Me" and "Anywhere," so glad they are still on the album. <3
Also very interested to hear the rest of the songs, and "Alone" since Sara hyped that one up so much.
I, too, am a bit disappointed though by the smallish selection, although I think this collection looks to be quite strong & should make up for it with quality w/ what it lacks in length.

Coming Soon! (TBD, 2011)Uncle Kracker " Cigarettes And One Night Stands" (Top Dog/Atlantic/Bigger Picture Group) " Happy Hour was written in conjunction with Kracker's next album, Cigarettes and One Night Stands, a darker more explicit effort to be released in 2011. Kracker said of the records, 'They're like night and day, just completely different albums. I'm proud of them both but the next one is a killer.'" Turns out the CD is already finished, and it's been getting rave reviews from programmers and a select few critics who have gotten advance copies. ^Thanks for posting that, that was a great article. This group seems like a very smart group--they understand how colossaly huge "Need You Now" was. I really like how Charles says they won't shoot for that everytime--how could they? They and everyone else would always be disappointed.
With that said, I have confidence that this trio will deliver another solid album, and I think their place in country music is on pretty firm ground. Just have fun recording, give the people some good songs, and enjoy your careers. If you try to be the best at everything, it just won't work. I was worried they'd come out and say "Our third album is gonna be amazing! Even bigger than Need You Now!" NYN wasn't a perfect album, and yes, they can do better, but if they were to say it'll be "bigger" than NYN, that could set them up for disappointment. I'm glad to see the approach they're taking.
Now, I just hope we get "Love This Pain" yet, to bridge the gap between now and their 3rd album...

^ Aside from the title track to that album, Need You Now really isn't all that amazing. In fact, I hope their next album is better as a whole than that was, but if their not aiming to high IDK how that will turn out. They're not gonna re-create the song NYN but they still need to improve w/ this album.

Glad to hear Lady A recording for album #3 this week, but I'm not all that surprised, tbh. Hope they take their time with this; I've had a hunch that Lady A's third CD would come out this fall (around October or November-ish), but that's a different story.
I actually liked Need You Now (album), although their debut had less filler to my ears. Then again, that's jmo. :-\

^ The Boot ran an article about him working on his third album. I think Someone Else Calling You Baby may be his last single from Doin' My Thing.

Source: Sunny Sweeney Facebook I wish they weren't releasing an EP and they would just put the whole album out. Since I know for sure I'm going to buy her album, I'd rather just get all 10 songs at once & not have to be persuaded to buy this, too.

Wow, that's about the 3rd or 4th time Craig's album has been pushed back...that doesn't make much sense to me. Are they expecting "Family Man" to climb to #1? It won't.
Ideally, the album should be released in mid-February, or early March at the latest. I think "Family Man" could make it into the top 20 by then. If they wait longer, they might be hurting his sales prospects...
