Hopefully iTunes will have their 90 second previews of this up soon, but it sounds pretty good. There's definitely some disposable material here, and I would definitely like it better if he had stuck to a more neo-traditional path, but it's still not bad for what it is. Barefoot Blue Jean Night has been my favorite song of the summer, and Anywhere With You, Apple Pie Moonshine, Heaven, and especially The Journey Of Your Life all sound really good from the clips. And nothing's as brash and awful as 8 Second Ride - so that's a plus. It's easily his best record yet.

I am beyond excited, as always, for the new Toby album. I'm hoping this new one, which has an interesting and cool title, is better than......whatever his last one was called. Wow, it was THAT forgetable...... Oh yeah, Bullets In The Gun.
The song titles sound interesting. So far, that's promising.

^ I'm with you. Despite the cringeworthy Made In America, I do sense that we have much better to expect from the new album. Most of the song titles sound pretty solid, and I'm still glad he didn't just slap the name 'Made In America' on the album, which I felt was inevitable from past experience w/ Toby Keith. Just that choice alone gives me hope in this project.
Can't say I blame him for the lead single though... its definitely getting the job done where his last few singles have failed.

How did Amy Dalley get released from Curb?? They let one of their artists actually get away?! Well after 57 failed singles....I reckon they figured they had drained that one dry.

WOW, an actual album from Amy Dalley! I'm shocked. Oh wait, no I'm not, she's not on Curb anymore, somehow. I have really enjoyed EACH of her failed singles. So I will blindly purchase this new album.

Amy's album is titled "Coming Out Of The Pain"...I wonder if that is code for "getting the heck away from Mike Curb"?!

So I will blindly purchase this new album. She released another album a few years back. A few songs from her Curb release, rerecorded a little differently. I loved her music, I still wish I could get her single releases from her time with Curb. But there was a whole interview she did where she discussed Curb, her feelings about them and how she finally left them. It came out around the time of her last album. I can't find it for the life of me or remember what site did the interview. It was interesting to read because she seemed open about everything. ETA: Found it. www.the9513.com/amy-dalley-tries-goodbye-her-life-after-curb/

That Rodney cd cover doesn't look that great...looks like such a forced/uncomfortable pose by him.

^No problem! And, just wanted to note that you can now preview Lady Antebellum's " Own The Night" album on Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005IF5H2SI'm not going to sit and listen to the previews over and over again (as I'd rather just wait 'til I can listen to the whole songs), but it sounds pretty good. I'll go ahead and guess that a lot of people here won't find it as good as their debut album, but I still think it's pretty good. I like the sound of "Dancin' Away With My Heart". Track #4, "Friday Night", definitely sounds like a short, sweet, summertime ditty. I wasn't feeling the 30 seconds of "When You Were Mine"...it seemed to sound too much like a mash-up of "Just A Kiss" and "We Owned The Night". Track #6, "Cold As Stone", sounds really interesting...I think it's a break-up song but don't quote me on that. Track #8, "Wanted You More", sounds like a pretty good power ballad. "As You Turn Away" and "Somewhere Love Remains", tracks 9 & 11, would seem to be piano-driven ballads. I definitely liked the sound of #10, "Love I've Found In You"...it's got a more traditional driving country beat sound behind it. Overall it sounded pretty good...a lot of the songs are similarly-themed but I think they will sound different enough so that we wind up with a cohesive album and not just one where every song sounds the same. I'll reserve final judgments for when I can hear the whole thing...but I do know I'll be getting this!

From those clips, you can count me out as someone who will be rushing out to buy this album. I'll wait to hear the entire album before I cast much judgment but, so far, it doesn't sound promising... especially for those of us who wanting to hear Lady A go back to the sounds of their debut release. The majority of those clips make this album sound like a record full of love ballads and music to put you to sleep late at night.

Just listening to the clips of the Lady A CD, I like Dancin Away with My Heart and Singing me Home the best.

It could be quality of the clips, but that sounds like one of the most boring albums I've heard in a while, sonically anyways. Love I've Found In You was the most promising thing I heard, and Cold As Stone has potential, but the clip stops right before the chorus. Other than that (and We Owned the Night, which i already like) it didn't sound like an album worth dropping 10-12 bucks on. Hopefully we'll get iTunes 90 second clips and a listening party soon, and then I can make a better judgement.

Ok, am I the only one that cannot find the new Pistol Annies CD anywhere? I went to Walmart which could have been a long shot because I never know what they're going to get sometimes and they didn't have it. BestBuy.com doesn't have it, Amazon doesn't have it...the list goes on. ITunes has it so I thought maybe I have misunderstood the whole time and it's a digital release only but I can't find anything that suggests digital only.
Just curious if anyone else found a physical copy anywhere yet - in person or online.

Ok thanks. I saw the physical copy on their web site which is why I thought it would be available other places as well. I don't like digital only releases but I'm certainly not paying $23. That's outrageous.

Well I'm glad I saw this thread before I headed to Target to get my copy, lol. I'm still gonna have to go to get my copy of Concrete (which is also out today), but it looks like my Pistol Annies album will have to be a digital download, as I'm not spending $23 to have it sent to me.

^^^ Sunny Sweeney's new CD is phenomenal. I'm really impressed. I would LOVE for an album like this to be a contender for album of the year.
