This year's Thanksgiving-week schedule is very light (though One Direction is a big release). Lots of albums releasing the week before, though.

Also with the AMA's on the 24th, I thought there would be more big names releasing on the 25th. Was almost expecting Beyoncé, Rihanna or Mariah to surprise everyone with an album announcement.

It also may be because Thanksgiving is pretty late in the month this year- so, if labels waited to release that week, it would be a week or so less of the big holiday-period sales.

No Rihanna this year! She's "exhausted."

^But, of course, she's ensured that she'll still be a presence, via the "featurings," magazine covers, etc.

www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgiAKA RACHEL BERRY: Glee star Lea Michele’s solo Columbia debut, Louder, will be available for pre-order on 12/10, with an expected March street date. The first single, penned by Sia, is titled “Cannonball.” Tracks from Glee were responsible for 3.6m singles sales in 2013, and of the 43m songs from the show sold over the years, 10m were sung by Michele. The singer has scheduled an Ellen appearance on 12/12. Look for a profile of Columbia chief Rob Stringer in the upcoming issue of our print mag that touches on this and other upcoming releases (among many other pressing topics) and a Q&A on our site next week. (12/4p)

March 11:
Christina Perri's sophomore album was given a first single, the vulnerable ballad "Human," a few weeks ago -- and now the full-length has a title, release date, and concurrent tour. "Head or Heart"

www.vintagevinylnews.com/2013/12/martina-mcbride-starts-own-label-sets.htmlMartina McBride is recognized as one of the greatest voices in country music today, but record companies seem to be more interested in promoting the newcomers than those with proven talent. McBride recorded for RCA Nashville for 17 years, putting out nine studio albums, before moving to Republic Nashville in 2011 for the album Eleven. Even though that set peaked at 4 on the country and 10 on the pop album charts, McBride has decided to start her own label which will be distributed through Kobalt. Martina's first project will be Everlasting, an album covering songs from 1955 to 2010. Among the songs that have been announced are Do Right Woman, Do Right Man (Aretha Franklin), If You Don't Know Me By Now (Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Simply Red), What Becomes of the Broken Hearted (Jimmy Ruffin) and Bring It On Home to Me (Sam Cooke) on which she duets with Gavin DeGraw.McBride said of the album "These songs have beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics, which is basically all you can ask for as a singer. While this is a bit of a departure for me song-wise, stylistically I approached these songs the way I always have which is singing with as much soul and emotion as I possibly can. I think my fans will love this record because they are some of the best songs of all time done in a very classic style. I’m so excited for them to hear it and to take this record, complete with a horn section, on the road in the spring." The singer previously released an all cover album in 2005 with Timeless which saw her sticking to mostly country songs including You Win Again, Rose Garden, Satin Sheets and Make the World Go Away. Don Was is producing Everlasting. Release is scheduled for March 4.

March 4, 2014Martina McBride - Everlasting Changed: I'm so anxious for each and every one of you to hear my new album as soon as possible but we need to change our release date because of some great performing opportunities and other media requests that have come about. So the new release date is April 8. I know it's hard to wait (It's killing me to wait!), but this is really the best thing for the album. The good news is we will be releasing more tracks in the next couple of months ... one is coming very soon ... so you will get a really great sneak peak of the album before the release date. Thanks so much for understanding and remember APRIL 8, 2014 for Everlasting!!!
