Any news on Easton Corbin? What's going on with him? Why didn't they release a fourth single if they were going to wait so long to come out with new material?

^I was also thinking the same thing. Which is dumb...I mean, sure Scotty and Lauren have the AI exposure, but Easton was on a roll...I was fine with them stopping after 3 singles, but I expected a lead single by now. He was performing new music at the CMA Fest thing way back in early June, if I remmeber correctly.
Easton clearly found a spot on radio, but I hope they're not sacrificing him a bit here. Sometimes a little break between albums is good, just to build up the buzz, but Easton is still very much a new artist so despite his strong debut album, too much of a break between the first two albums could really hurt his momentum, so I strongly hope they don't wait too much longer.
In the time since Easton has been off the charts, we've seen Rodney Atkins, George Strait, Jake Owen, Dierks Bentley, and Toby Keith all re-assert themselves, while Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and others continue to roll right along, and Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church are breaking through as well. Lots of big stars, lots of newer stars, and I hope that Easton can jump right back into the mix but it's tough, and so I hate to see such a big break between albums for him.

Long gaps can definitely be detrimental to ones career, just ask Jimmy Wayne and Josh Gracin. Now the circumstances aren't exactly the same, Wayne's gap had more to do with DreamWorks closure and Gracin was being handled by the hacks at Lyric Street, but either way both of those guys had similar first album success to Easton and both became afterthoughts. Easton's first album was quite good, so I hope that doesn't happen to him.

^ While you do have a point with Jimmy Wayne overall, he did come back with his first #1 hit. It was everything that followed that sunk him.

But that was something like 5 years after he first broke through. Had Do You Believe Me Now? came out right after his first album, he wouldn't have been a comeback story, he would've been a burgeoning star and would've had a much bigger rope with his subsequent singles.

Its impossible to tell how things would've went if he'd release DYBMN right after Paper Angels just scraped the Top 20. We don't necessarily know that it would've been a better success story or not.

Its a different situation because both Josh and Jimmy were releasing singles in the wait between albums. The singles just weren't catching on for whatever reason. Josh released "Favorite State Of Mind" and "I Keep Coming Back" before finally getting a hit again with "We Weren't Crazy". and Jimmy had "That's All I'll Ever Need", "I'll Never Leave You" and "I Didn't Come Here To Lose" before coming back with "Do You Believe Me Now". Easton hasn't released another single. His absence is more akin to Josh Turner's between album #1 & #2.

They waited well over a year between when Paper Angels fell off and That's All I'll Ever Need was released. Gracin's wait certain wasnt that long, but I seem to remember it being around 6 months between Stay With Me and FSOM. That was the point I was trying to make.

For Jimmy he did have his label close down and then he was picked up by Big Machine so the year wait was unterstandable to me. Was it really 6 months between "Stay With Me" and "Favorite State Of Mind"? It didn't seem that long to me. I still think FSOM should've been a major hit. I miss hearing Josh on the radio too. his first 6 singles were all really good, then he kinda just fell off :/

^ The two singles that followed We Weren't Crazy were not the radio hits he needed to stay afloat (especially Unbelievable [Ann Marie]), and Lyric Street was never a very good record label, so he was kinda out of luck. He's at least getting to release new music again, though he'll never have any real shot at the success he had with his Lyric Street days unless some major break comes his way down the road.

No news yet on Rodney Atkins' next single...hopefully Curb realizes he may be their only hope and get their act together with him.

^I'm sure we'll be hearing about it very shortly. "Take A Back Road" (the song) is still a hefty digital seller, and even though it's falling, it's not dropping too fast...they'll probably wait a week or two to send out the next single.
As I noted in the listening party thread, I'm expecting it to be "Cabin In The Woods".

While I was worried a few weeks back about Curb waiting too long to announce Rodney Atkin's second single I'm starting to really worry about Steve Holy, are they giving up? I think if they put out "If It Gets You Where You Wanna Go" they have a chance to get another hit out of him. Hopefully we'll hear something soon. I'm still mad that both Bomshel and Ashley Gearing's latest singles didn't do anything, Curbs fault of course cause they were both summer songs released in the fall. Maybe they'll both get another single, and Star De Azlan while we're at it too...and Heidi Newfield...and Martin Ramey...and...

This must be Post #4,792 on 'Curb Fails It's Artists' :kii: But yeah, I'm with you. I hope that Star and Ashley can eventually get an album out and have a hit single, but I'm worried that may very well never happen. Bomshel needs better music. They've actually had the opportunity to get an album out and have a couple of Top 40 hits, but 'Halleluya'll' was total garbage, and didn't deserve to go anywhere. I also still think for a girl-girl duo, their harmonies leave much to be desired.

I thought Halleluyall was great. Especially a great summer party song. I thought 19 and Crazy was also good by Bomshel. I think the label sucks not their material.

I like all their singles and I really loved "Halleluyall" if that had been released at the beginning of the summer I think it would've charted at the very least. As of now I believe it's their only non-charting single.

Both of those were released in 2008, between the Bomshel Stomp and Fight Like a Girl eras.
