"Sparkle's" box office numbers is now at $18.9 Million. Easily passing the $14 million it cost to make. it costs $14 mill to make but its a known fact that you need to at least double (at the min.) the production budget. Dont see why this wont cross $30+ million plus DVDs etc...Theyll def. make money due to such a minimal budget.

Soon 'Sparkle' will have run it's course and we can start looking forward to the new Greatest Hits compliation. I'm assuming it's a single disc career spanning compilation. Any guesses on track list? There are at least 20+ songs that are must haves...some will obviously be cut plus that doesn't leave room for any bonus material.
"You Give Good Love" (1985) "Saving All My Love for You" (1985) "How Will I Know" (1986) "The Greatest Love of All" (1986) "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" (1987) "Didn't We Almost Have It All" (1987) "So Emotional" (1987) "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" (1988) "One Moment in Time" (1988) "I'm Your Baby Tonight" (1990) "All the Man That I Need" (1990) "I Will Always Love You" (1992) "I'm Every Woman" (1993) "I Have Nothing" (1993) "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" (1995) "I Believe in You and Me" (1996) "Heartbreak Hotel" (1999) "It's Not Right but It's Okay" (1999) "My Love Is Your Love" (1999) "I Look to You" (2009) "Million Dollar Bill" (2009)
That also leaves "Just Whitney" totally unrepresented. Any thoughts?

Just Whitney was a solid album imo. It didn't really have a "hit" and the singles were sort of not great but I really like a lot of the material on that album. It was very cohesive.

Any thoughts? Whitney had far too many hits that a single disc collection could not represent all of them accurately. "Try It On My Own" or "Love That Man" would probably be the best to represent her Just Whitney album. Those did well on the Dance chart and I thin TIOMO went top 10 on the AC chart. I think a 2 CD edition would be best, featuring all songs in their hit original versions/radio edits/single mixes (the latter would be the case for most of her 80s singles when alternate single mixes were common, whereas radio edits of her 90s singles were regularly released as the originals were a bit longer). Using the shorter versions would allow enough songs to be included. And in some cases, those versions are a little bit harder to find unless you purchase all the CD singles that had them. A single disc featuring "the essentials" could be released as well, sort of like how there were single and double disc editions of Madonna's Celebration collection.

Any thoughts? I don't know if all of the songs would be able to fit on a single disc album, she has so many known songs and people want the original uptempos (unlike her first Greatest Hits where a lot of people were dissapointed with the unknown remixes). I think it should be like this: You Give Good Love How Will I Know Saving All My Love For You All At Once The Greatest Love Of All I Wanna Dance With Somebody Didn't We Almost Have It All So Emotional Where Do Broken Hears Go I'm Your Baby Tonight All The Man That I Need My Name Is Not Susan I Will Always Love You I'm Every Woman I Have Nothing Run To You Queen Of The Night Exhale (Shoop Shoop) Count On Me Why Does It Hurt So Bad I Believe In You And Me Step By Step Heartbreak Hotel It's Not Right But It's Okay My Love Is Your Love I Learned From The Best Whatchulookinat One Of Those Days Try It On My Own Million Dollar Bill I Look To You Then HOPEFULLY *fingers crossed* they will include at least 2 unreleased songs.

Missing "I Believe in You and Me" and "Step by Step" if we do get a double disc. I just thought I read some where it was a single disc. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Whitney Houston Earns 40th Top 40 Hit on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 'Celebrate'Although bittersweet, the late great Whitney Houston achieves her 40th top 40 hit on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as "Celebrate," her duet with Jordin Sparks, rises 49-39. The song -- from 2012 film, 'Sparkle,' -- is diva's first top 40 hit since "Million Dollar Bill" climbed to No. 16 on the chart dated Dec. 19, 2009. In other "Celebrate" news this week, the song also jumps into the top 10 on the Adult R&B airplay chart (viewable on billboard.biz/charts) -- Houston's 14th top 10 hit on that tally. I thought maybe the movie would've held up better in its second weekend. Still, it didn't cost a whole heap to produce, and there always the opportunity for a decent home-video performance.

Whitney Houston Estate To Release ‘Official’ Tribute Book Publisher Atria is expected to announce today its upcoming collection of photos and essays in honor of the late Whitney Houston, notes The Hollywood Reporter. “Whitney: Tribute to an Icon,” due Nov. 27 with a retail price of $39.99, will be the only officially sanctioned tribute book to the singer, who died on Feb. 11 at age 48 in the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Legendary music producer and mentor Clive Davis is contributing an essay for the book. Houston was preparing to perform at his annual pre-Grammy Awards party when she drowned in a hotel bathtub. “Whitney” will feature about 130 photographs from twenty-two different photographers, including never-published images and outtakes from iconic shoots. Among the photographers represented are David LaChapelle, Steven Meisel and Patrick Demarchelier. Acclaimed music photographer Randee St. Nicholas selected the pictures and former Jive Records Creative Director Jackie Murphy designed the book. In addition to Davis’ essay, Nicholas and Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and the head of her estate, penned memorials. The book gives fans a chance to share the “amazing memories that reflect very special moments in the life of the extraordinary Whitney Houston, “Nippy” to her family and also to me,” writes Pat Houston in her essay. “The photographs serve as a visual timeline of Whitney’s personal style and fashion as well as highlighting her musical milestones,” said Atria Publisher Judith Curr.

Im disgusted at MTV for not even MENTIONING Queen Whitney!! Wasnt she the first african american woman to get heavy spins as an artist on MTV? Didnt she help make MTV what it is today? or am I imagining things?

I agree but it's not the same MTV that you or I grew up with. It's pretty much a joke now that they even do the VMA's. They don't play music videos anymore. It's all crap reality TV shows. I assumed they would do some sort of tribute as they did for MJ (Rest in Peace). I even thought maybe even Alicia Keys would work it into her performance somehow.

They did something for the guy from Beastie Boys... I am shocked and think its soooo disrespectful. How dare they? I mean really, Im disgusted. I kno Divas live in December will be a whole show tribute to Whitney. I kno MTV owns VH-1. But I dont care its not the same thing. Id LOOOOVE to hear Mariah Carey sing I Will Always Love You! For me, Shes one of the only ones in Whitneys league.

Im disgusted at MTV for not even MENTIONING Queen Whitney!! Wasnt she the first african american woman to get heavy spins as an artist on MTV? Didnt she help make MTV what it is today? or am I imagining things? Seriously!! That is beyond shady to not even show her picture and give her at least a mention. I hate MTV. Yes she was the very first African American woman to cross over to pop and get major spins on MTV, she's THE ONE who opened those doors for other black women to cross over to MTV. What jackasses. So what if she only won one MTV VMA, she attended several of their award shows and was a major artist on MTV from the time she entered the scene. I can't believe them.

Whitney Houston - Whitney Houston Lands Posthumous Guinness World Record

Whitney Houston | Whitney Houston Lands Posthumous Guinness World Record | Contactmusic
Whitney Houston has landed a posthumous world record after 12 of her tracks rocketed into the U.K. chart following her death in February (12).
Fans flocked to buy the superstar's back catalogue in the days after her bathtub death in a suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on 11 February (12).
Twelve of her tracks entered the chart in Britain - and the feat has landed Houston a posthumous entry into the Guinness World Records - for Most Simultaneous Hits on U.K. Singles Chart by a Solo Female, an honour previously bestowed upon late singer Amy Winehouse, following her death last year (Jul11).
