I couldnt imagine Mariah NOT being there. That would be a little strange.

DELUXE EDITION TRACK LISTING: I do seriously hope that the Deluxe edition is released as well in the U.S. because it's far more exciting. I would gladly purchase that one. If it is unavailable in the U.S., I would just buy the import. When I saw the single disc edition tracklisting, I was a little disappointed because it was missing some obvious hits. But the second disc has those plus some other ones that have never appeared on one of Whitney's own collections. Of course, most of the fans who have bought all her albums will have these already, but it's nice to have all of these in one collection. I like the new version of "I Look To You." It's so beautiful. I also hope a collection of some previously unreleased songs comes out eventually. At the moment it does seem the US won't get the deluxe edition, though I don't see any logic in that. I agree the two discs have all her important hits, except "Miracle", that was a top 10 hit, don't get why that one was snubbed for a track that was a R&B radio-only release...

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Tyler Perry will grace the cover of November’s Essence magazine when it hits newsstands Oct. 10.
Perry tells the mag about a conversation he had with Whitney Houston on the night Michael Jackson died.
Perry, concerned that Houston was on the same path, asked the late songstress if he could come over and console her.
According to Perry, Houston said, “I am a mother, I have a daughter and I want to be clear: Ain’t no man coming over in the middle of the night."

I don't think Whitney needed to be too worried.

I'm so surprised Cissy agreed to this, Bobbi Kris said last week that it was too soon and she was grieving throughout the entire show.

Britney Spears and Halle Berry join the lineup for the CBS one-hour special We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston. The pop star won't be performing, however. She along with Oscar-winner Berry, actress Taraji P. Henson and rapper LL Cool J will introduce segments and iconic footage of Houston from from the Nokia Theatre stage at Thursday. The special on Nov. 13. Previous performers announced for the Grammy salute include Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Usher, Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans. The TV tribute will celebrate Houston’s life and career with exclusive interviews, never-before-seen footage, including highlights of nearly all of Houston's Grammy telecast performances, her classic performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl XXV in 1991, and her first-ever television appearance on The Merv Griffin Show in the early '80s.

With a new greatest hits coming out, it doesn't look like there will be a 25th-anniversary reissue for Whitney, at least through year's end. I am curious to know if it is at least in the works, any substantial information. I am loving the Bad 25th reissue, and was hoping for something similar for Whitney. I wish they would also do a box set for Whitney, but I realize they have to rectify the Greatest Hits issue first. Still, it seems like an awful long time was spent on this for what we're actually getting.

Hudson, Spears, LL Cool J honor Whitney HoustonLOS ANGELES (AP) — Jennifer Hudson embodied the look of one of her idols, Whitney Houston, during a tribute to the late singer put on by Grammy organizers. Rocking a pompadour and glittery jacket reminiscent of Houston's stage costumes from the 1980s, Hudson belted out a medley of Houston's hits Thursday at the Nokia Theatre for "We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston," which will air as a TV special next month. "She has been a huge part of my life musically," Hudson said. "She's just been like this outline, this blueprint for myself." Britney Spears, LL Cool J, Halle Berry, Taraji P. Henson, Usher, CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams also participated in the musical tribute. Spears said she's always been "a huge fan" of Houston's. "I think she's amazing," Spears said. "And I think that her voice is better than God. I just, I love her." Houston died at 48 the night before the Grammy Awards in February from accidental drowning complicated by drug use and heart disease. LL Cool J honored her at the awards ceremony in February but said Thursday that the singer's musical contributions merit more. "The time that we spent remembering Whitney at the Grammys wasn't really enough for her career," he said. "Even though it was wonderful, and I got to say the prayer, and I got to address her death, her career was larger than just a few segments. You need a whole show to celebrate a career like Whitney Houston's." The tribute is set to air as an hour-long special on CBS Nov. 13. Oh Nippy, you are so loved. :'(

If I were Bobbi there is no way I'd be able to go to all these tributes. It must reopen the wounds every time.

If I were Bobbi there is no way I'd be able to go to all these tributes. It must reopen the wounds every time. A review from someone who was there: The best tribute to Whitney so far. It was tastefully done and had lots of Whitney. Nothing any real fan has not seen, but they did her great Grammy performances, IWDWSWLM, IWALY and GLOA. It will be great for a new generation to see these amazing performances on the screen in HD. Britney did an intro as did Haley Berry and LL Cool J. Usher was good. and certainly heartfelt (he did have to perform twice which was fine with the audience) but the montage of photos behind him as he sang just brought so many emotions out it was hard to concentrate on him. I did enjoy his performance. But it was Yolanda Adams and Cece who brought the house down with Count on Me. It was a spontaneous standing ovation. Cece brought it and showed what real singers can do, for sure. She and Yolanda were just great. Great! Krissi, Nick and Pat and Ray were there. Krissi was clearly overcome with emotion on a few occasions. But she looked good in a red dress. Clive was also there and he spoke a few words. It was easy to see how much Whitney meant to him. He was beaming with pride and emotion the whole time. Easily the best tribute to Whitney we have seen, but as others have said, too short. They didn't have any unseen footage, but they chose their video selections of Whitney really well and showed her sense of humor, her intelligence and her forward thinking. Whitney was the star tonight and they showed her in a wonderful light. Krissi was having a difficult time emotionally. She was in tears and had to leave a couple of times to get herself together (probably to fix her makeup). You could see it in Krissi's body and posture at times. She was just overcome. Nick seemed genuinely concerned and wrapped his arms around her a couple of times as if he were letting her know he was there. (I did not get a lovers vibe, I must say, more a brotherly thing, but who knows?

I don't know if the following news has been reported in this thread before, or if it belongs here, but... Bobbi Kristina Brown Confirms Engagement To Adopted Brother, Nick Gordon (VIDEO)Posted: 10/11/2012 12:25 pm EDT Updated: 10/11/2012 1:35 pm EDT Despite previous reports denying her engagement to Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina Brown has officially confirmed the couple’s commitment to one another. During the trailer for her family’s forthcoming October 24 Lifetime reality series “The Houstons: On Our Own,” the 19-year-old is seen professing her love for her adopted brother and announcing to the the world, "We're engaged." in addition to admitting that she doesn’t like to be “without him.” While Brown’s announcement may have come as a sigh of relief, her Uncle Gary was a bit sidetracked during a meeting with Gordon. “No one knew that from a God son, you would turn into a boyfriend. No one knew that.” Check out the trailer for “The Houstons: On Our Own” above.Source

^ Bobbi Kristina Brown not engaged: rep
A representative for Whitney Houston's teenage daughter has shut down reports Bobbi Kristina Brown is engaged to her boyfriend Nick Gordon.
Following the death of her superstar mum in February the 19-year-old has grown increasingly close to Gordon, who was informally adopted by Houston when he was 12, and the young couple has sparked rumours of a wedding ever since.
A new trailer for Bobbi Kristina's upcoming reality TV show, The Houstons: On Our Own, was released this week and it appeared to confirm Gordon had proposed, with the pair nervously telling family members, "We're engaged."
However, a spokesperson for the teen has now spoken out to CNN.com, explaining the young lovers are not presently engaged - although at one time they might have been, since the series was taped weeks ago.
The rep adds, "You have to watch the show!"
According to additional footage, Bobbi Kristina's relatives were not too happy about their 'engagement' news - her aunt, Pat Houston, can be heard branding the announcement "unacceptable", while an uncle tells Gordon, "No one knew that from a godson, you would turn into a boyfriend, nobody knew that."
--------------------------
For the rep (Pat) to say you have to watch the show, I think a lot of this Krissy/Nick thing is for publicity. It's crazy to me that they didn't quickly shoot down rumors that Whitney adopted him, she never adopted that boy! Did we ever see him around them when she was with Bobby when he was a kid? No. The first time we saw him was in 2008, he was already over 18 when he started to come around their family. Whitney Houston never adopted Nick Gordon. He was always Bobbi Kristina's teenage friend, end of story.

I feel bad for her because the media scrutiny is becoming so immensed with her. If she breaks a heel while walking it will become a twisted headline.

Wowww, look what she witnessed today. Was probably horrific and made her think back to her mom..... Bobbi Kristina to the rescue: Brown and boyfriend Nick Gordon come to the aid of man collapsed in parking lotPUBLISHED: 22:25 GMT, 13 October 2012 | UPDATED: 22:26 GMT, 13 October 2012 They both attended a star-studded tribute to Whitney Houston in Los Angeles earlier this week. But on Saturday, the late star's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown and her boyfriend Nick Gordon were back in Atlanta, where they came to the aid of a man who had collapsed in the parking lot of a local strip mall. The 19-year-old and her beau were alerted by bystanders to help the man, with a witness reporting that Nick got him out of his Jeep and placed him on the floor to perform first aid. Helping out: Bobbi Kristina Brown and rumoured fiance Nick Gordon quickly came to the aid of a man having a heart attack on the floor of a car park in the Atlanta suburb of Roswell on Saturday Nick and Bobbi Kristina were at the strip mall to withdraw money from an ATM, before they rushed over to help. The couple both held up the young man's legs, as they stood among a crowd of nine people waiting for emergency services to arrive. Bobbi Kristina looked stricken and ran her hands through her hair as Nick bent down to try to help, before paramedics arrived to perform CPR. However, the man's state of health after he reached hospital is not yet known.
