"Exhale" indeed was the missing one, at No. 10. I updated the post- so, that's in excess of 1,900 spins for her 10 most-played tracks. Thanks I KNEW Exhale had to be on there. Urban AC loves it.

OMG, I don't even know what to think of this and didn't even know if I should post it.....I pray it's not true but who knows with the law enforcement!
Cop sneaked peek at dead Whitney Houston's naked body, says claim
By Andrew Blankstein NBC News
A Beverly Hills police sergeant disturbed the scene of Whitney Houston’s death in 2012, according to a claim filed last week with the city, by lifting the sheet covering her naked body and commenting on how good the dead pop superstar looked.
Despite “no legitimate law enforcement inquiry, investigative, or other proper and legal purpose,” alleges the claim, which was filed by another member of the force, Det. Sgt. Terry Nutall “knelt beside and leaned over the decedent, removed the sheet and/or other covering from the body ... to an area below the pubic region.”
While nearly touching the singer’s body, Nutall allegedly then made “inappropriate comments ... that the decedent ‘looked attractive for a woman of her age and current state,’” and said, “’Damn, she’s still looking good, huh?’”
Houston was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Feb. 11, 2012. The Los Angeles County Coroner determined that she died of accidental drowning, with cocaine use and heart disease as contributing factors. She was 48.
The claim was filed by former Beverly Hills SWAT supervisor Brian Weir, who says that as the senior patrol sergeant on duty he responded to the death scene and "attempted to secure and preserve the scene of the death." He says that Nutall arrived on scene after a sheet was placed over Houston's body to "prevent contamination."
Weir alleges he was removed from his position as head of the department’s SWAT team for reporting the alleged misconduct. The claim, filed on his behalf by attorney Christopher Brizzolara with the city of Beverly Hills and other California state agencies, is a precursor to a civil lawsuit that is expected to be filed within 30 days.
Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino disputed the claim's characterizations, and said he was unaware of any lawsuit by Weir. He said Nutall was near the Houston death scene and was the detective division sergeant on duty, which meant it was appropriate for him to respond. (Nutall has since been promoted to lieutenant.)
“He would be expected to respond to that type of incident and his supervisor was fully aware that he went to the scene,” said Hoshino. As for Nutall’s alleged comments about Houston’s body, Hoshino said that the department was not aware of “any inappropriate behavior or any inappropriate comments. We stand behind the investigation 100 percent, including the conclusion from the coroner’s office.”
Attorney Dmitry Gorin, a former Los Angeles County Deputy D.A., said that if true, Weir's allegations raise questions about whether investigators properly secured the scene and whether they unnecessarily exposed the department and city to future civil litigation.
“If proven, officer Nutall's actions were highly inappropriate and demonstrate very poor judgment by a senior BHPD officer,” Gorin said. “A law enforcement officer more interested in what a decedent's body looks like than securing a possible crime scene may taint the original placement of relevant DNA and fiber evidence, causing investigators to miss data and draw incorrect conclusions.”

I really wish they'd do a live compilation. She had so many fantastic performances. I believe it would be an important addition to her catalog.

I decided to listen to her first two albums (Whitney Houston and Whitney) for the first time this week and I have to say, they are FLAWLESS. Even the cheesy filler like "Love Is a Contact Sport" is irresistibly catchy! I'm gonna have to buy these two albums after my next paycheck.

Last Saturday (October 5th), Whitney was posthumously inducted into The Georgia Hall of Fame. The beautiful event was highlighted by a performance by her brother, Gary Houston, who sang "Greatest Love of All" and "Where You Are". This may be a little off topic and irrelevant, but looking at the pic above and them listing everyone there, it's interesting to me that Whitney's half brother Gary took on her last name "Houston" after she became a famous super star. He was always Gary Garland (his real dad's last name) even when he played professional basketball when he was younger, it wasn't until the late 90s when he went and legally changed his last name to Houston. Word is he hated that people would always ask him, "how is Whitney your real sister when your last name is Garland?" Then of course Pat had to take on the Houston name too.
Anyways....

Maybe it's just me, but is Bobbi K. slowly morphing into Whitney? The older she's getting, the more she's looking like her mother.
What's the Georgia connection for Whitney?

She had an amazing talent to transform songs when she sang them live. The example that comes to my mind is "Why Does It Hurt So Bad" at the MTV Movie Awards. The recorded studio version of that song is nothing special imo, but the way she performed it live, oh my, the song was just elevated to a whole new level! A mark of a great singer, definitely.

Definitely in certain angles and poses of her, and especially in her eyes. The only connection is the fact that she lived in Georgia off and on since 2002.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The Case for Whitney Houston By Tris McCall/The Star-Ledger Tomorrow, the nominees will be announced for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014. Whitney Houston’s name probably won’t be among them. It should be. In the 1980s, there were two singers whose talents were so colossal that popular music is still shaking from the impact of the records they made. Michael Jackson was inducted into the hall in a walk. Houston, who has been eligible for four years, has never even made the nominees list. Why is that? Jackson was a visionary songwriter, as well as an astonishing singer. That’s significant. If the hall were only big enough for one ’80s superstar, he would be the choice. The gap between Jackson and Houston, however, isn’t as wide as it’s often made out to be. Jackson’s hall case was airtight, but Houston deserves to be right there on his heels. You could call Houston influential, but that is like calling the Earth a rock. It’s technically true, but it’s a massive, misleading understatement. Popular singing since "Saving All My Love for You" has been one long chase of her shadow. Stars themselves concede this. Katy Perry pointedly closed her last tour with a version of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)." Houston’s voice isn’t just echoing on Top 40 radio, either — rock singers from the internationally famous (Hayley Williams of Paramore) to the alternative and experimental (Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors) nick her cadences, her inflections, her lightning-flash upper register, her sudden earthy growls, her carefully controlled melisma. Traces of her delivery show up all over the country stations, too — it’s impossible to imagine Carrie Underwood or Faith Hill without Houston’s example. The imaginative rock-soul hybrid artists of the past few years — The Weeknd, Janelle Monáe, Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean — all make their debt to Houston apparent. It is no great exaggeration to say that Houston taught a generation of entertainers how to sing. Houston’s musical education came in church. At New Hope Baptist in Newark, she learned from the masters: Not only her mother, Cissy, and her cousin Dionne Warwick, but also the ordinary parishioners in the choir, who chased transcendence through gospel music every Sunday morning. As a grown-up, Whitney fused the devotional fire of Cissy Houston’s singing with the tight, scrupulous narrative presentation characteristic of Warwick’s records. She reached for the stratosphere within the confines of the three-minute pop song. In so doing, she carried on several traditions at once, one of which was the thread of gospel-inspired popular music that the hall has always insisted it intended to honor. In the mid-1980s, music was in trouble. New recording and performing technologies had opened up possibilities for musicians and producers, many of which were rewarding. But exploration for its own sake often led to records that were technically brilliant, but felt sterile. More than anybody else, it was Houston who brought popular music back to church, and reminded everybody how far from its gospel moorings American song had drifted. At the time of her greatest fame, her hits were dismissed by many rock purists as anodyne pop, fit only for teen dances and summertime cruises. Those who demanded that Houston be the second coming of Aretha Franklin (and nothing but) were disappointed. Yet in concert, Houston opened these songs up, exposed their gospel roots, and demonstrated that her voice was an instrument too expressive for any genre to contain. It is telling that the years since their recording haven’t tarnished her hits. "I Wanna Dance," "So Emotional," "How Will I Know," "Didn’t We Almost Have It All" and others turned out to be far from ephemeral. These records are now as indelible as any from the Day-Glo decade. They still supply chills. It will be argued that Houston was insufficiently "rock" for enshrinement. Leaving aside the fact that the hall saw fit to induct Madonna, whose records were farther from the roots of American music than Houston’s ever were, this depends on your definition of rock. If you believe that rock is music made by a man with a guitar, a battery of blues licks and a distortion pedal, then of course Houston doesn’t qualify. But the hall does not endorse this definition. In an effort to grapple with the complex and thorny tale of American popular music, it has chosen to include disco singers, doo-wop combos, offbeat singer-songwriters, rappers and deejays. The hall is supposed to stand as a reminder that rock is not epitomized by arena guitar bands: Part of its mission is a callback to a prior era of song built on the expressive relationship between the singer and the spirit she’s channeling. And if you believe the woman with the microphone is at least as important a part of the ongoing story of rock as the man with the guitar, then Houston walks in, because no woman of her era went harder with that microphone than she did. Just ask a singer — any singer, in any style. Houston had a difficult tightrope walk. In order to reach a mass audience, she had to de-emphasize the parts of her music that might have discomfited the majority of Americans. Like Jackson, she made major compromises, and we’re never going to know for sure how much those compromises cost her. In retrospect, she had almost as much to do with the desegregation of MTV and mainstream radio as Jackson did. She squeezed all the effulgence she could into the commercial song, and in so doing, set a standard that thousands of other singers have tried, and failed, to live up to. Contemporary music cannot be understood without engaging with Whitney Houston, and the closer you listen to her music, the clearer you can hear the past, too. If that’s not a Hall of Famer, I don’t know what is. www.nj.com/entertainment/music/index.ssf/2013/10/rock_and_roll_hall_of_fame_the_case_for_whitney_houston.htmlExcellent article.

Yep, another year, another no-show for Whitney on the Rock Hall nominees list. The men continue to dominate the proceedings, as just one solo female is among the 16 nominees.

I've stuck with her through her good and bad times until the end, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I will always speak positively of her and keep her legacy going as long as I'm here. Her troubles should not outweigh her beautiful music, her amazing voice, her incredible career, and what a wonderful, giving, down to earth, kind person and human being she was altogether.

Whitney Houston’s stunning wax figure visits Madame Tussauds London from New York Here in London we're paying tribute to internationally renowned music icon, Whitney Houston, as we welcome her stunning wax figure from Madame Tussauds New York for an eight week visit from 17th October, 2013. The figure is inspired by the singer’s 2009 ‘I Look to You’ comeback album and portrays her smiling broadly with her arms gently outstretched. She is wearing a glamorous floor length gold sequined gown with sleek shoulder length hair. "The figure was created with the close co-operation of her family who were delighted with the results."“We are very excited to be welcoming Whitney Houston to our London music stage,” commented our PR Manager, Nicole Fenner. “This is a very special figure as it was created after her very sad and untimely death with the close co-operation of her family who were delighted by the results. She will be joining fellow female icons, Adele, Rihanna and Madonna and we are sure guests will love the opportunity to step on stage with one of the world’s most celebrated musical talents,” Nicole added. The figure was unveiled by members of the Houston family in the USA last year and is one of four created to celebrate Houston’s life and career. The other figures are featured in our attractions in Washington DC (based on Houston’s ‘Star Spangled Banner’ Super Bowl performance), Hollywood (based on the singer’s movie appearance in ‘The Bodyguard’) and Las Vegas (inspired by Houston’s early smash hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’). This will be the first time any of the figures have been seen outside the USA. Enjoy great savings and faster entry when you book online ------------------------------------------------------------------ Gospel Choir Backs Whitney Houston Wax Figure in London (Watch) *Madame Tussauds in London pulled out all the stops to reveal its touring wax figure of Whitney Houston. The famous visitor attraction enlisted the help of a full gospel choir to unveil the satue earlier today (Oct. 21), which was created in the singer’s honor following her death in February 2012. The likeness was originally unveiled at Madame Tussauds’ New York museum earlier this year by members of Whitney’s family – including her mother Cissy Houston – but it is now being exhibited outside of the US for the first time. The figure – one of four capturing Nippy at various stages of her career – is inspired by her appearance in the promotional art for her 2009 comeback album “I Look to You.” It sees her adorned in a floor-length gown with her arms outstretched. Madame Tussauds’ Nicole Fenner said: “We are very excited to be welcoming Whitney Houston on to our London music stage for the next eight weeks. “This is a very special figure as it was created after Whitney’s very sad and untimely death with the close co-operation of her family, who were delighted by the results.” The wax figure’s debut was backed by a rousing performance from the London Gospel Factory Choir, and the group’s artistic director Colin Vassell was honored to be part of the special moment. ”Whitney Houston is one of the most talented singers of her – or any – generation and we were delighted to welcome her wax figure to London,” he said. ”She is a personal hero of mine so to get to stand alongside her and sing was a slightly surreal but awesome experience. ”We chose a song she performed in the film ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ because it is so uplifting and great fun to perform. We hope we did her justice.” They sang "Hold On, Help Is On The Way" from The Preacher's Wife soundtrack For those who don't know the song, here's Whitney's version

ITA - the studio version was kind of a drag. IMO - Her live performances of IHN are the tops - plus it's my favorite Whitney song because it enables her to use her voice in so many ways.

The medley she did in 94 at the AMA's (I Have Nothing, Porgy & Bess + And I'm Telling You...) is one of the greatest vocal performances I've ever heard. No disrespect to JHud but Nippy OWNED it first (of course after Jennifer Holiday)!
