Happy 70th to Cher! She mentioned on Twitter that she's working on an album. I refuse to believe that she's 70.

The last gap between studio albums (12 years) was by far the longest of her career. I wonder, though, how many more albums she will make. Those regular National Enquirer articles would make you believe she's not doing too well, but hopefully it's all rubbish.

I just think she'll stop touring.

www.ew.com/article/2016/08/17/cher-studio-new-albumCher teases new albumCher has clearly mastered Twitter in recent years, so now she’s turning her attention back to her legendary music career. The singer tweeted that she’s preparing to record a new album. “When I get back From 1st Leg Hill Campaign, I’ll start new CD,” she wrote. “So EXCITED 4Get I [heart emoji] SINGING.” Translation: Cher is currently using her voice to campaign for Hillary Clinton, and teases that once she finishes her work with the Clinton campaign, she’ll begin working on a new album. But her political work hasn’t totally kept her away from the studio — Cher tweeted on Monday that she had already recorded two new songs. A new album would be Cher’s 26th, and it would be her first release since 2013’s Closer to the Truth. It would also mean that her discography will have stretched for over 50 years — Cher’s first studio album, All I Really Want to Do, came out in 1965.

I hope it means something is coming soon!!! We have 3 weeks until Election Day, so there's only so much time for her to be active w/ HRC's campaign.

Cher is sometimes hysterically funny in her Twitter account with all her imogies. Glad she is going to work again. I read they are working on a Broadway Show based on Cher's life and she is reading a movie script or two. I love Cher as an actress as well so I hope she does a lot in 2017. It seems Cher works once or twice a decade then sort of chills. In a way it is nice since we never get sick of her.

ROTFL!!!
That's second only to the updated "Ironic" with Alanis.
She's amazing and her voice is too! I'm kinda sad Tina Turner retired b/c she and Cher were the ones putting all the younger girls to shame (shame shame).

That DVD collection is tempting, though I wish the videos were in chronological order.

Did anyone else notice this this morning?
All of Cher's older albums except Stars, I'd Rather Believe In You, Cherised, Black Rose, and I Paralyze appeared on streaming services.

Cher recorded a new song written by long-time collaborator Diane Warren.
The legendary Closer To The Truth singer now revealed on Twitter that the heartbreaking song is for the upcoming 2017 documentary film Cries From Syria, directed by Evgeny Afineevsky.
"CRIES FROM SYRIA focuses on child protesters, revolution icons, activists and their relatives, and high-ranking Army generals who defected to join the fight of the people. It tells the story of the Syrian people who have never lost hope. This film will take the audience on a unique journey in time, from Syria to Turkey, through Jordan, Lebanon and Europe. We will see the situation from the inside out, and through the CRIES FROM SYRIA."
As Cher stated earlier this month, the If I Could Turn Back Time-songwriter Diane Warren wrote the title song for the film. And as it serves as the film's title song, of course, we can expect the track to be entitled Cries From Syria -- although there's a chance it may be something different though similar.

Cher to Star in Lifetime Movie About Flint Water Crisis
Cher is headed for Lifetime.
The iconic singer-actress has been tapped to star in Flint, a TV movie based on the Flint, Mich., water crisis, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Katie Couric will executive produce, alongside Cher. Bruce Beresford will direct the movie from Sony Pictures Television. Barbara Stepansky will pen the script.
Cher will portray a Flint resident whose family is impacted by the water crisis.
The drama is based on events in Flint about the poor management that led to water poisoning as well as the human elements of the residents who suffered — and whose voices were ignored. The movie was inspired by a February 2016 cover story in Time magazine called "The Toxic Tap," by Josh Sanburn.
Zadan and Meron's Sony Pictures TV-based Storyline Entertainment optioned the rights to the story.
This is Cher's second TV movie role, following HBO's 1996 If These Walls Could Talk, for which she scored a Golden Globe nomination. Cher has been actively involved in helping Flint residents, including donating thousands of bottles of water. "This is a tragedy of staggering proportion and shocking that it's happening in the middle of our country," the Oscar winner said at the time.

Not Cher's fault, but it figures Lifetime would center around a white family when Flint demo is barely 35% white. OWN should've tackled this.

And I'm all for drawing attention to the issue but it would've been nice to have actually had the issue resolved first before trying to profit off of it. Cher is a great actress, however, so I will be watching.

At least Cher will be a draw - I can't imagine the story itself would resonate otherwise.
