I'm dying to hear her new Diane Warren song: Prayers for this World from the documentary Cries from Syria. It sounds like it will be very sad and very powerful. It comes out at the Sundance Film Festival this month. I tried to post the add for it but it would not paste on here. It is a great shot of Cher in an ad for the film.

Jesse Jackson photobombs Cher interview at Women's March on WashingtonCher appeared at the Women's March on Washington to lend her support to the movement sparked by the reaction to Donald Trump's election. "I want to let people know that I'm here for them and I believe in this movement," she said. "I want people to go away from here and join organizations and keep protesting." When asked how she as an artist will reflect the change she wants to see in America, she said, "I want to protest. I want to speak up. I want to lend my name. I want to do everything that's possible that I can think of. I'm just so astonished that everybody came." At that point, an old friend of Cher's stuck his head into the shot and joked that maybe he should open her next show. It was civil rights leader Jesse Jackson. "We've known each other forever," Cher said with delight. When Jackson was asked how many Cher concerts he'd been to, he slyly said, "Since I was a kid." This brought out a big laugh from Cher, who hit Jackson on the chest and teased, "Since you were a kid!" They both laughed together and then moved off into the crowd. www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-pol-womens-march-live-1485034364-htmlstory.html

Thanks for posting the ad for Prayer's For this World. I tried and could not paste in here.
Saw a clip of Cher with a group in NYC demonstrating the day before DC. The group sang This Land Is Your Land and she did great back-up like in the early 60's when she sang back-up for other artists like the Righteous Brothers and the Ronnettes.

Other than a few new outfits, the show looks to be a compilation of stuff from the last handful of tours/residencies. I wasn't expecting much more, but a surprise (like, an lesser hit from the 1960s/1970s she hasn't performed) would have been nice.

www.billboard.com/articles/news/7736565/cher-exits-lifetime-flint-water-crisis-movieCher Drops Out of Lifetime's Flint Water Crisis MovieThe singer-actress is backing out of the Sony TV project for family reasons. Cher is exiting Lifetime's Flint, the network's TV movie about the Michigan city's water crisis. The singer-actress was set to portray a Flint resident whose family is impacted by the water crisis in the drama inspired by a February 2016 cover story in Time magazine called "The Toxic Tap" by Josh Sanburn. Her departure is due to a family issue that prevents her from traveling to Toronto, where the project is set to start filming next month. "This has been a project so near and dear to my heart and I was truly looking forward to helping tell this story," said Cher, who has been actively involved in helping Flint residents by donating thousands of bottles of water. "Unfortunately, I will be unable to leave Los Angeles during the scheduled filming as I am dealing with a serious family issue that prevents me from going on location for the April filming. I’m so glad that Craig and Neil [the producers] plan to move ahead and I know that this Lifetime movie will be done beautifully." The Sony Pictures Television movie hails from live musical duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who optioned the rights to the Time magazine story via their Storyline Entertainment shingle. Katie Couric is on board as an executive producer. Cher, who was also an executive producer, will no longer be involved in the project. Barbara Stepansky has penned the script and Bruce Beresford is set to direct. Flint would have marked Cher's second TV movie role, following HBO's 1996 If These Walls Could Talk about three different women's experience with abortion. The role earned her a Golden Globe nomination. This article was originally published by The Hollywood Reporter.

Just seeing Cher on ANY award show is so rare. Considering her career began when Kennedy was President, she has been on award shows so little. Back in the 60s and 70s she did do them but since then hardly ever. I love Cher's anti-Trump tweets. She is funny in her Twitter-life. Fun seeing Cher at 71 having fun doing what she loves doing.

Cher was the highlight of the BMAs, imo. I got her Greatest Hits out after the show and was enjoying it.
We all know she's had work done apart from exercise, but she has to have one of the better surgeons out there. She still looks like herself and gorgeous after all these years.

www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-et-ms-gregg-allman-funeral-20170603-story.htmlCher honors ex-husband Gregg Allman at rocker's funeralCher arrives for the funeral of Gregg Allman on June 3, 2017, in Macon, Ga. Legions of fans lined the streets of Macon, Ga., on Saturday to honor music legend Gregg Allman as he was carried to his final resting place in the same cemetery where he and his band members used to hang out and write songs amid the tombstones. The Saturday afternoon service was private, with only about 100 people expected inside a small chapel. Mourners, including Allman's ex-wife Cher, filed past white columns into the peach-colored building as five black stretch limousines waited outside. Some came through a back entrance. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said he would attend, honoring the Allman Brothers Band keyboardist who drew large crowds to campaign events during his 1976 presidential race. Police closed downtown streets to accommodate the crush of fans coming to watch Allman's body being taken from the chapel to Rose Hill Cemetery, where he will be buried near his late brother, guitarist Duane Allman. Gregg Allman was the voice and face of Southern rock Their band began its rise to fame in the central Georgia city 90 miles south of Atlanta about five decades ago. The group used to write songs while hanging out in the cemetery, Alan Paul wrote in "One Way Out: The Inside History of the Allman Brothers Band." "He's somebody who has been in my life first as an artist and later as a real person since I was about 8 years old, and so it's shocking to think of the world without him," said Paul, 50, who interviewed Allman many times for his book. Allman, who blazed a trail for many Southern rock groups, died May 27 at his home near Savannah, Ga., said Michael Lehman, the rock star's manager. He blamed liver cancer for the 69-year-old's death. Born in Nashville, Allman was raised in Florida by a single mother. He idolized his older brother, Duane, eventually joining a series of bands with him. Together they formed the heart of the Allman Brothers Band before Duane died in a motorcycle crash in 1971, just as they were reaching stardom. In his 2012 memoir, "My Cross to Bear," Allman said he finally felt "brand new" at 50 after years of overindulging in women, drugs and alcohol. But hepatitis C ruined his liver, and after getting a transplant, it was music that helped him recover. Allman felt that being on the road playing music for his fans was "essential medicine for his soul," according to a statement from the Big House, the Macon museum dedicated to the band. Lehman said he spoke with Allman the night before he died. "He said the last few days he was just, you know, tired," Lehman said. The night before he died, Allman was able to listen to some of the tracks being produced for his final record, "Southern Blood," Lehman said. The album is scheduled to be released in the fall. "He was looking forward to sharing it with the world, and that dream is going to be realized," Lehman said. "I told him that his legacy is going to be protected, and the gift that he gave to the music world will continue to live on forever."

Strange the article leaves out that Gregg/Cher have a 40 y.o. son together and that Gregg was married 7 times, including one this year.
