^ Aren't you a fan of TOAD too? Or a former fan... so there's absolutely no decent songs on the album? I know "The Truth Is..." made me wanna rip my ears off, but "Head Above Water" didn't sound so bad.

^ Aren't you a fan of TOAD too? Or a former fan... so there's absolutely no decent songs on the album? I know "The Truth Is..." made me wanna rip my ears off, but "Head Above Water" didn't sound so bad. There are some songs that aren't that bad like "Head Above Water" and "Hurricane" and "We Were Men" (which turned out to be a soldier song), but by and large, it sucks. "Bitch Came Back" is a terrible and unnecessary redo of the old folk song "The Cat Came Back", "Gentlemen" and "What Was I Thinking" are both cut from "Lowlife"'s jib, and most of the ballads are just not nearly as strong as those from previous albums. What really irks me is that his wife (or ex-wife now I guess) is responsible for co-writing most of their terrible crap. She helped write "Bad Girlfriend" and "Little Smirk" among others on the last album and she helped write "Lowlife" on this album and God knows what else.

Did they get a divorce? She should be seperate from TOAD, and focus on her acting career.

Did they get a divorce? She should be seperate from TOAD, and focus on her acting career. I honestly don't know. Someone on Tunelab said they got divorced and then I found this interview theywillrockyou.com/2011/06/david-brenner-theory-deadman/where it's mentioned, so I guess so. Also the same interview mentions that they co-wrote "Bitch Came Back" and "Gentlemen" with Kara DioGuiardi. Is it fucking weird that the most cock-rocky songs on both of these albums were co-written with women?

I'm interrupting this contest to inform you that this album is dogs**t. That is all. I may disagree with you often , but you are spot on about this album. ### Rant begins ### It's a truly stupid and arrogant album. "What Was I Thinking" and "Truth Is...." are absolute stinkers. "Lowlife" is Sinatra compared to them two. "Gentlemen" is another crapfest which stinks of hypocrisy when you hear some other songs on the album. The ballads are actually quite nice, "Out Of My Head" is especially good. But even these are wrecked by the other trash. "When We We're Men" and "Head Above Water" are proof these guys are complete idiots nowadays. ### Rant ends ###

Yeah, Kara DioGuardi usually writes sappy ballads for Rock artists. I'm not convinced that she wrote the cock-rockers. Maybe she was confused with Chad Kroeger? And the album sucks? I think everyone but Artie called that one.

Oh... I'll vote for "So Happy." Neither would have been in my final, though.

Here's my rant on The Truth Is... - first listen: FIRST LISTEN: Theory of a Deadman - The Truth Is...01. "Lowlife"The first single has me hooked, because it's catchy and I've been waiting for new music for a while. While the lyrics aren't great, they are better than some tracks on the album, trust me. 02. "Bitch Came Back"This is their attempt of being creative, which turns out to be a complete failure. Using horns and a xylophone doesn't make up for the s**tty lyrics exhibited in this train wreck. Very poor rendition of the classic folk song. 03. "Hurricane"This attempt of being creative pays off this time, with the use of strings and decent lyrics. I sense that this is this album's "By the Way." It kind of goes back to their first album, but with more Scars & Souvenirs influence. 04. "Out of My Mind"Boring chord progression. "I-I-I-I-I-I-I" at the beginning of each chorus is pretty annoying also. It's kind of country-influenced, like some tracks on Gasoline. Piss poor ballad. Next. 05. "Gentlemen"This is a spin-off of "Lowlife." And trumpets, horns, and strings are not creative if the song is s**t. I'm getting pretty disappointed with this album so far. 06. "Love Is Hell"Do I hear Jimi Hendrix? Stevie Ray Vaughan? Nope s**tty lyrics by the one and only Tyler Connolly and TOAD. >:( And where's the lovely happy songs since he and the other members are all married (I think). They must've all got a divorce and complained to the fans through f**king bad music. :( 07. "The Truth Is... (I Lied About Everything)"Worst track on the album. I hate them trying to make the guitar sound like a ukelule. It's gonna be the next radio single, I just feel it. >:( Some of the lines don't even rhyme, which sucks even more for this song. 08. "Head Above Water"This is the better material from the album. The chorus is a bit cringing, but the rest of the song is exceptionally great and well-written compared to the s**ttiness of the other tracks lyrics for the most part. Thumbs up. 09. "Drag Me to Hell"Nice Poor-attempt-at-sounding-like-a-kickass-hard-rock-song instrumental. But the theme is getting tiring and old. It kinda sounds like "Got It Made" from the last album... 10. "What Was I Thinking"I don't like it when artists use their name in their song, unless it's Hollywood Undead's "Undead." Kind of a attempt of a make-up song. But Tyler ain't getting the girl. ;) And these interuptions from band members in and at the end of songs are starting to get annoying. Props to the unnessecary use of banjo. 11. "Easy to Love You"Haha, we're going back to the '80's with this song. Nope, not doing it. It sounds dated and boring. Very disappointed, TOAD. :( 12. "We Were Men"Hoping for the last track to make-up for the album's overall s**t-fest sound. It's good, but not good enough. I like that the theme is different for once (fallen soldiers at war), which is strange for TOAD. I think it's probably the second best track on the album. Bonus Tracks:13. "Careless"Once again, tiresome theme, although the lyrics are a bit more 'smart'. 14. "Does It Really Matter"Another boring chord progression. Average lyrics, though. That's all this song has going for it, though. 15. "Villain"Kind of sounds like it could've came from Gasoline. But the lyrics fit perfect with this album. 16. "Better or Worse"God, I wish he'd stop singing break-up or kicking-out songs. It's making me sick. No point to write about acoustic versions of songs. Overall, surprisingly and unsurprisingly, this album sucks donkey nuts. As Pen said, do not waste your money on this album. I'm not buying it anymore. If at most, download "Hurricane," "Head Above Water," and "We Were Men." The rest, besides "Lowlife" (argumentively) are s**tty pieces of crap. That's my first listen's thoughts.

Looks like a 3-3 final with 12 seed Say Goodbye the potential winner because of the better tournament record. It appears we've had the same 6 voters all four rounds, but if a 7th tiebreaker wants to jump in by the next time I log in, we can accept that!
