Apologies if I missed it somehow but I checked back a bit to see if there was a thread but didn't see anything. This song is pretty cool, feels like Metric and Snow Patrol all rolled into one. The video is pretty crazy, I wouldn't say that you should watch it if you are prone to having a light induced seizure but it's pretty fun.
Sitting in the top 40 on alternative....i could see this surging and getting top 20 and if they have ANYTHING that can follow it up once their name is more out there they may have some success on a wider scale.

Not familiar enough with Snow Patrol's deeper cuts to hear it, but I'm with ya on the Metric, whom I thought it was when I caught this on my station's new music program, a few weeks back. Another female-driven track I'm liking more every time I hear it. :)

This band on the other hand makes me think of Silversun Pickups. Really enjoying this album, and Dave Grohl apparently called "Whirring" the best song of 2011.

I thought the same thing when I first heard this a few months ago and I really like the Silversun Pickups, but I just can't get into this song.

^ & ^Same here. It's not being talked about nearly enough for a song doing as well as it has been. It closes with over four minutes without lyrics and I could loop that all day and never get tired of it. I'm almost frightened to find out what the radio edit does to it. Even though the rest of the song is pretty good too.

If you haven't found it yet: grooveshark.com/#/s/Whirring/3KBcx9?src=5I'm still holding out hope for top 5 for this. It's my favorite song of the year on the Alternative format.
