Well, clearly, this one isn't going anywhere and it is a much better song than FU (perhaps a hair less catchy, but better crafted all-around) and yet it isn't going to make the Top 30. Hence kind of proving my earlier point. "F*** You" wouldn't have become a hit either if it were titled any differently. The title lured the attention of many listeners on shock value terms, and from there it just caught on. It doesn't matter that "Bright Lights, Bigger City", in essence, tackles the same "let's party and have a good time" mantra as many other songs of its ilk. There's no shock value at play here and, from a production standpoint, it's just more of a stylish throwback (which wouldn't have been a hindrance if the song so happened to have a title as eyebrow-raising as "F*** You".)
