There is also a version with Wiz Khalifa: Goes for adds on the 17th of May. www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=16691Top 60 74 60 CEE LO GREEN Bright Lights Bigger City 152 90 62 0.460 I hope this does well, I really like it and coming off of "F**k You" it should do something.

I really like it on first listen and songs usually need to grow on me. I absolutely love that songs are coming out and becoming successful that are actually good songs being sung by good vocalists. It is about time for something besides club banging dance tracks that are sung by Autotune.

For a second, I thought Elektra wouldn't plan a follow-up to FU. I love this song! Let 'It's OK' be the third single for fall/winter.

Honestly, I truly thought "F*** You" was an excellent single, particularly for its unique, throwback kind of production and Cee Lo's emphatic vocals, and didn't give a care its title carried a four-letter word.........yet, quality-aside, I couldn't help but be bothered by an aspect of the single's success in that, it just seemed like its rebound was more triggered by 1) the "Hey! Look! That song has the F-word in its title! Let's listen to it!" publicity aspect, and 2) multiple television programs bolstered widely-received renditions of it.
Call me a cynic, but I most strongly doubt "F*** You" would have EVER come close to the level of hit it was if it were titled "Forget You" all around. Which is anguishing to accept, because that was more than deserving of the acclaim and success it received, and "The Lady Killer" altogether is a must-listen that is actually more artistic than it is listenable. "F*** You" would have been ignored completely and deliberately under virtually any other title.
Which is why I'm praying this becomes another large-scale hit for Cee Lo. Because it would go a long way to proving what I'm thinking to be cynicism, and little else............that Cee Lo Green is succeeding just as much, if not more, off of his artistry than from the hype of a song title.

I do agree that Fuck You got the attention it did because of its title. When it first surfaced on YouTube last year, I thought it was just a fun song he recorded for the sake of it, a la My Humps when Alanis Morissette did it, among other examples. But then it was used as the lead single for his album so I thought "hmm, he's serious about this." But by then, the song had become a runaway success. I think it helped that the song was actually a pretty great song on its own but it got the initial attention based on the title. It just carried itself from there by the song itself.

I think it helped that the song was actually a pretty great song on its own but it got the initial attention based on the title. It just carried itself from there by the song itself. What I'm arguing here is that it wouldn't have mattered how great this song was in any incarnation on its own merit........."F*** You" only grabbed the attention of listeners because of the shock value in its title. Now I know some will point out and say "Hey, Pink and Enrique Iglesias got hits despite featuring that word in their titles!" Besides the fact Pink is known for being outright rebellious and Enrique Iglesias is known for being outright flirtatious as artists.............the primary difference between those two artists and Cee Lo Green is simple: they are established artists that most listeners know by heart and know what to expect from them, while Cee Lo Green, in spite of his success as part of Gnarls Barkley, remains quite unknown as a performer and known, if anything, as a critical darling. It carried itself off by the speculation and hype of the profanity in the title, period. Whether it is regarded five years from now more by its artistic quality than anything remains to be seen, of course, but there is not a scintilla of doubt in my mind that this song would have never left the ground if it were titled anything other than "F*** You".........whether it be "Forget You", "Fudge You" or even "Screw You". Perfect choice and well timed considering The Voice is picking up. Hopefully this will be at least moderate hit for Cee Lo. I thoroughly enjoy The Ladykiller.

I'm glad they've finally decided on a second single to push.
There's been too many albums lately where the follow-up just didn't/never happened.

This song is great! :)

This song is really good. It's nowhere near 'F**k You' though, and I don't think he's big enough for this to smash based of that (especially, that peaked 3 months ago). I hope it can at least go top 20 though, which I think/hope isn't out of the question. It's gonna be a super slow rise though.

I don't see him having another solo hit. Thankfully for him he's had success with Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley as well, in addition to being a successful producer. He's been a critically respected artist for over 15 years so a solo hit this late in his career was just icing on the cake.

This needs to keep rising. It's refreshing to see an artist with good vocals make an impact.

Cee-Lo has never done exceptional well with follow-up hits. For example, "Crazy" went to #2 on the Hot 100. Nothing else from the album charted, not even in the Bubbling Under chart.

Damn, just heard this and it's really good. I didn't check out the album after Fuck You, which I hated, but this is actually good. Too bad most people will never hear this one.

I really don't think F**k You's title is what made it be a hit, it helped, definitely, but I think the whole message is incredibly relatable. The song took a while to take off, and it wasn't because people needed the title to grow on them. Lol. The song was kinda meh with me at first, but grew on me. I do think the title helped, but it was certainly more than that. Weren't there several weeks where Forget You was outselling F**k You?

Well, clearly, this one isn't going anywhere and it is a much better song than FU (perhaps a hair less catchy, but better crafted all-around) and yet it isn't going to make the Top 30.

I've kind of given up on this becoming a hit. Shame. It's a really good song.
