The fall was FAR from brutal. Being edited out is beyond elementary. After reading of your excitement in the CMT Awards thread upon hearing about the fall, I am not shocked that you would feel that way about it. If the same exact fall had happened to an artist I didn't like I would still feel it was brutal. Look at the video again. She was lucky. She only got a sore thumb and was able to laugh it off, but it was still a bad fall. In regard to it being edited out of the show: Either it was a nice gesture made solely by CMT to remove it from the repeats, or Shania's team asked that it be removed. Based on the video Shania posted on her Official Site about the fall right after it happened, she seemed fine with her "embarrassing moment" and laughed it off. "Elementary" or not, we'll likely never know why it was done.

Shania Twain Honored As Top-Selling Female Artist In Country MusicJune 10, 2011 at 1:23 PM (PT) MERCURY RECORDS/NASHVILLE Country artist SHANIA TWAIN was honored on THURSDAY JUNE 9th, for reaching worldwide sales of more than 75 million, making her the top-selling female artist in the history of Country music. TWAIN’s producers BUDDY CANNON and NORRO WILSON were on hand as UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP Chairman LUKE LEWIS recognized TWAIN, at the CITIZEN CLUB in NASHVILLE, TN. Producer NATHAN CHAPMAN, who co-produced TWAIN’s new song, “Today Is Your Day” and RAY KENNEDY, who mastered the song, were there as well. “The purpose of writing ‘Today Is Your Day’ in the first place was self-inspiration,” TWAIN said. “I was talking to myself and saying, ‘Today is your day. You can do it.’ But the decision to even write the song and share it was a big decision for me, to find myself as a songwriter again, independently, for the very first time after all these years.” CHAPMAN added, “It was exciting for me as a fan and as a producer to find out just how brilliant she really is as an artist. She sounds amazing; she sounds better than ever. She is one of those artists who can tell a story just in the tone of her voice.” For more info on TWAIN, visit www.shaniatwain.com. All Access Music Group
According to the following CMT Article, Shania is said to have co-produced "Today (Is Your Day)": Shania Twain Signs Books at Music Festival, Celebrates Sales of 75 Million AlbumsJune 10, 2011 Making her first appearance at the CMA Music Festival in 15 years, Shania Twain signed copies of her autobiography, From This Moment On, Friday (June 10) at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Her New York Times bestseller was available for purchase at the event. After appearing Wednesday on the CMT Music Awards, Twain celebrated the worldwide sales of 75 million albums during a private party Thursday afternoon (June 9) at a Nashville club. Twain has made numerous appearances in Nashville this week, including the CMT Music Awards, the CMA Music Festival and a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. She will release a new single, "Today Is Your Day," on Sunday (June 12) during the season finale of her docu-series, Why Not? With Shania Twain, on the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. The track is her first new music in six years. She co-produced it with Nathan Chapman. The song will be released to country radio and iTunes immediately following the OWN program.

That was a pretty ugly spill. LOL. She handled herself well as always.
Been watching her reality show. My love for her is still intact.

SHANIA TWAIN TAKES THE ‘OPRAH’ AUDIENCE TO THE CMA MUSIC FESTIVALPosted in Shania Twain on June 10, 2011 by ArastoShania Twain was in high spirits as she joined the Oprah audience over brunch during their audience surprise trip to the 2011 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN today (June 10). Looking stunning as usual, the country music superstar signed over 400 copies of her book From this Moment On as viewers feasted on on array of treats at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Meanwhile, CMT says it is editing out Shania’s fall during the Country Music Awards on Wednesday night so that she isn’t embarrassed. John Hamlin, the show’s executive producer, says the last thing the channel wants to do is embarrass anyone, particularly someone as gracious as Shania. While CMT edited out the fall, footage of it aired on cable news channels and was available on the Internet. As for Shania’s thoughts on the incident? CLICK HERE to find out! Here are 12 Photos from the event: Photo # 1 / Photo # 2 / Photo # 3 / Photo # 4 / Photo # 5 / Photo # 6 / Photo # 7 / Photo # 8 / Photo # 9 / Photo # 10 / Photo # 11 / Photo # 12Source

Shania Twain will be on the Cover of the June 20, 2011 issue of "Country Weekly."The issue will feature a new interview, new photos, and a free poster. The following is a photo of the cover + a description of the interview:
PHOTO: Shania Twain Cover - June 20, 2011.Shania Twain talks about opening up her personal life, her new autobiography, future musical plans and more in this candid cover story. Through her book, From This Moment On, and her TV series on the Oprah Winfrey Network, Why Not? With Shania Twain, she feels that she is healing from the pain of her divorce from husband Robert John “Mutt” Lange. “That was the easiest way to express myself, to write my life out,” Shania says of the autobiography. Shania adds that she’s ready to tackle a new album. “I have been writing a lot of songs,” says Shania. “‘Today Is Your Day’ [her new single] is the first song that I completed and that I committed myself to finishing.” Country Weekly

I don't know how I feel about someone other than Mutt producing her songs. His production and her voice just went so well together. I'm sure it will be great because it's Shania, and I'd rather her work with someone else than not make new music though. So I'm very excited, and hope the album is extremely successful, I will definitely be supporting her.

I love this song. Somebody complained that this sounds somewhat anticlimactic, which is understandable. Regardless, I love this. So much.
I need more Shania.

"Today Is Your Day" is on iTunes! I'm hoping they advertise this on iTunes. I'd like to see hit Top 5 on the country charts at least. I do agree the song is a little lackluster for a big comeback single, but I think it will grow on me.

Eh, I'm not really a fan of the song. It's not awful, but I think some of the lyrics are cringe-worthy and I agree that it's not what I was expecting as a comeback single.

#17 on US Itunes main. Mercury Nashville isn't going to be left but to get us this album before the year ends at this rate. Hopefully she knocks out recording in about 3 months for a nice Holiday season release.
