Well she said she was writing for the album, so I assume she's not just writing for the hell of it. She's always said that she won't ever release an album unless she's absolutely sure that it's the best album she could release for her fans, so we'll see.. I just wish she'd say something too.

I want the COME ON OVER days back. Every. Single. Frickin. Song was soooooooo good. Seeing all of those singles listed above makes me wish more that Shania was back. Me too. I wouldn't mind a The Woman In Me-type album either, with a slightly more country sound. Growing up without any local country stations, I wasn't exposed to much country music. The only ones I knew of growing up were the country-pop crossover hits, so the only songs of Shania that I was really familiar with were "Man! I Feel Like A Woman", "You're Still the One", "From This Moment On", "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Forever and for Always" and "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!". I recently started listening to her albums in full, and people are not lying when they say that every song on Come On Over is perfect. Her and Mutt really made the perfect team. Without Mutt, I'm not sure if we can get songs that have that same timeless sound and catchy beats to them from Shania. I'm not doubting her abilities as a songwriter, but my main worry is who is going to produce her future music? For me, her songs that Mutt produced have no burn rate. I wish somehow she and Mutt could continue their professional relationship, but that clearly will not happen.

I was listening to the original songs from her Greatest Hits album the other day, and I noticed that her voice sounds really different on those songs, as opposed to the way she sounded on "The Woman In Me", "Come On Over", and even "Up!"
Do you think her medical issues with her voice started earlier than we thought? She has this whispery sound to her voice on that album, where it sounds like she's struggling in a way. You can especially notice it in "I Ain't No Quitter" and "Don't!"

She said that she had difficulties performing that era (Up!). Also, the new duet with Lionel Richie? Excellent.

I hope this duet will help get Shania's foot back in the door at country radio. This could be a great way to lead us into a new album, but I'm not sure how that would work with her Vegas show beginning in December. :(

I like the song, but the vocals still aren't what they were on WTIM or COO, but they are getting close. Since her Vegas show starts in December, I'm not optimistic we will hear anything new until after her commitment, if at all.

I downloaded my copy on iTunes. In love with the song. It's currently #27 on iTunes country and #142 all-genre.

I can definitely see EL doing well on country and crossing over to the AC formats. Hope they send it out.

Lionel Ritchie shoots "Endless Love" music video in The BahamasBy The Bahamas Film Commission Feb 10, 2012 - 1:22:21 PM The Bahamas is known as an ideal location for film making and many movies, TV shows and music videos are shot here. Lionel Ritchie was recently in The Bahamas shooting his music video for the remake of his hit, "Endless Love" featuring the vocal talents of Shania Twain. Diana Ross originally supplied the female voice to the 1981 hit. The production company, Weapons of Mass Destruction, used locations on Nassau and Paradise Island to shoot the music video featuring both Lionel Ritchie and Shania Twain, part of those scenes took place in a beach house. The project is directed by Paul Boyd who has directed Shania Twain in the previous project, I Am Only Just Looking. To shoot your film in The Bahamas go to: www.bahamasfilm.com.Source

With Celine Dion sidelined, Shania Twain takes center stage By Robin Leach (contact) Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 | 1:37 p.m. Shania Twain sits atop Caesars Palace. Shania Twain at the 2011 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.
For several days since returning to Las Vegas, superstar singer Celine Dion has been fighting laryngitis. I was reliably told that she has been under doctors’ orders and followed all treatments to rest her vocal chords. She was ready to restart her Colosseum at Caesars Palace engagement with Wednesday night’s sold-out concert, but just two hours before curtain up, she became ill again. Celine was promptly ordered by her doctors not to perform and to rest to ensure a full recovery so that she can resume performances Saturday. It was the first show she has canceled in four years. Incidentally, Elton John also had to cancel his last performance here over the weekend, for him due to food poisoning. Country superstar Shania Twain, who had flown in from her Bahamas home to start pre-production for her Colosseum headliner show starting Dec. 1, was scheduled to watch both stars. Instead, AEG/Concerts West producers used the suddenly empty theater last night for Shania to “walk, dance and sing onstage.” “That was really cool. We were there until 11 p.m. last night,” I was told. “She wanted to get the feel of the building. She wanted to know where her band and the crew would be hanging out when she comes to town. She saw the dressing rooms and checked the sound system. She’s really excited, and everybody already knows she’s on the right track as the new family is being built around her.” Shania on Wednesday also checked out chef Wolfgang Puck’s nearby Spago for lunch and enjoyed heirloom tomato Soup, BLT salad (without the bacon) and cookies for dessert. Vegas DeLuxe also has learned exclusively that Shania has tapped Raj Kapoor as director of her Caesars shows as the process begins. The cutting-edge director has worked on the Grammy Awards, “American Idol” and Carrie Underwood’s latest tour. “It’s early on with the concept sketches, but they already have 20 tableaux to pick -- 12 from that will wind up becoming the show itself. She wants to showcase all her looks, from country to high fashion to pop and rock,” I was told. Shania, who confirmed her residency to me in an exclusive interview last June, is said to be in great shape and played tennis for two hours with her husband, Frederic Thiebaud, right after their six-hour flight here from the Bahamas. The couple left Las Vegas this morning after seeing the early performance of “O” in the Bellagio on Wednesday night instead of Celine. AEG head honcho John Meglen confirmed: “She’s loving life and is really excited and involved in getting the show ready. She’s having a good time and a lot of fun with it. We think she’ll make two more trips here -- and of course time it to see Elton and Celine then! Musical rehearsals will start this summer in the Bahamas, and then in the fall we’ll move into a Las Vegas rehearsal facility. She’ll move into the building in November, and with our load-ins, some preview shows and Lions Den shakedowns, we’ll be all ready for Dec. 1. “We have always felt her music was missing from the Las Vegas entertainment scene. You do have Garth Brooks, and now Shania Twain will serve that segment of the market always visiting Las Vegas.” Meantime, Celine’s schedule didn’t call for shows tonight and Friday, and now everybody is hoping the break will get her back to full health to resume the schedule Saturday. Fans -- several in tears -- who received full refunds learned of Celine’s illness as they were filing into the Colosseum. A reliable source, who revealed the backstage medical drama to me as it was happening, told me: “Celine was brokenhearted and disappointed beyond words. She wanted to disobey the medics and go onstage, but they warned her it could cause far more serious problems if she went against their orders. It’s better that she missed just one night rather than create a worse, ongoing problem of several nights by pushing it before she’s well again.” Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.Follow Robin Leach on Twitter at Twitter.com/Robin_Leach. Does anyone know if there is like a remastered version of The Woman In Me? I want to buy the album, but I specifically want a remastered version of (If You're Not In It for Love) I'm Outta Here! (the album version, not the one from her Greatest Hits). I know there was a box set released in 2010 supposedly of The Woman In Me and Come On Over in Europe, but I'm not sure if those are remastered or not, and where I can buy them... Here's the link: www.importcds.com/Music/1764634/Shania-Twain-Come-On-Over/The-Woman-In-Me-CD

Thanks. Do you think the tracks are the same quality as the original 1995 version of the album, or were they remastered in 2000 for this European version? I honestly can't compare the two albums. The only version of "The Woman In Me" that I own is the original U.S. version that is shown below: I do not own the "The Woman In Me [UK Bonus Tracks]" version that is shown below and in my previous post. When you asked for the alternate version in your original post, I did a quick B&N.com search and found that CD. I did listen to clips of the two versions of "(If You're Not In It for Love) I'm Outta Here!"...but, as I said, I don't own that UK version. Based on the clips, I can only say that I prefer the original versions of the songs. JMO.

Shania Kids Can Featured on Nascar Nationwide Series and Nascar Sprint Cup Series Cars
03/10/2012 12:40pmShania Kids Can is proud to be a featured logo on cars racing in the upcoming Nascar Nationwide Series and Nascar Sprint Cup Series this Saturday and Sunday. Saturdays car will be driven by 2012 rookie of the year contender Timmy Hill and Sundays driver will be Blake Koch. See below for more info on Shania Kids Can and charity details directly from Shania: I started the Shania Kids Can project 8 years ago in my native Canada and over the years it has proven to successfully improve the quality of daily life for countless, underprivileged kids, kids who are just like I was at their age. Today my objective is to expand the project to support as many underprivileged, primary school kids as possible throughout North America. On behalf of myself and the kids, we would like to express our gratitude to Rick Ware Racing and General Pacific Partners for offering their help in various ways, toward the objective of building awareness of the foundation and raising funds by placing the Shania Kids Can logo on their cars and later in the year, auctioning off a car at a trade show in Vegas in December 2012 where the proceeds will go to the Shania Kids Can foundation. Please visit the following website: www.shaniakidscan.com for more information and / or to donate to the foundation.
Thank you,

I have finally given up hope that we will see an album before Vegas. ever. I would have to say the same thing I remember how in 2008 I thought it would finally come. I can't say I am mad if she doesn't ever release another record cause I would be scared to make another one too considering how great those albums her and Mutt made together were. I just wish that she could release one last great record as a nice little slap in Mutt's face that she can do it on her own without his musical genius.

That's what I would want for her to but, like you said, I would completely understand if it never happens. When her book came out last year, I thought that we might see something, but when nothing material wise came of that (besides "Today Is Your Day"), I've pretty much given up that a full album is coming. I could see her popping up once in awhile, like she does on Lionel Richie's new album and did on Anne Murray's duets album a few years ago. I could also see her writing songs that other people record, or possibly having a random song appear on a soundtrack or benefit album, but in terms of a full-length Shania record, I doubt one is coming.
