I'm not sure if I totally agree, but I know what you mean.
That being said, wasn't Kristine W's song "for us?" If that's the case, American can continue their worship.
Luckily, I and many of us, continue to look elsewhere for something inspiring.

I can understand where he's coming from in regards to that. While Dance/Electronic music is getting played on CHR/Pop radio, it is by major acts which are dabbling in that genre right now, but they are considered Pop primarily (like Katy Perry, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Jason DeRulo, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc.). One can wonder if they will change gears musically if Dance/Electronic influenced music suddenly faces a backlash or is no longer so hot.

Very few pure quality Dance artists like Robyn, Kristine W, Ultra Nate, Cascada, September, Kylie Minogue, Bob Sinclar, etc. are getting played here. Some of these types occasionally bubble under or have a limited amount of mainstream success. And there is always those one or two surprise hits here every year by artists who are unable to have that same sort of success later on here, or anywhere else.

Dance Music has a long way to go but what's happening now is a good start. Disco Cowboy made a good point. While the core dance fans don't consider Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, etc. real dance music since they are mainly pop and well known, those artists will open the doors for the real dance artists/producers that the U.S. mainstream are not familiar with or are underrated.

Black Eyed Peas worked with David Guetta and had a #1 hit with "I gotta feeling", Afrojack worked with Pitbull & Ne-Yo with the current hot track "Give me everything" and seems like some P.D.'s are interested with Afrojack's production and taking a chance on "Take over control".

If it wasn't for Lady GaGa and David Guetta topping the U.S. charts in 2009, we might never had "Stereo love", 'We no speak americano", "Hello" crossing over to the CHR/POP chart.

I would like to see Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Sylvia Tosun, etc. crossing over and making it and not just charting in dance charts and/or european charts. I think using certain real dance songs for commercials and ads is a very smart move.

I remember the best times of dance music making it on pop stations was in the early 90's. And then from 1996 to the early 2000's.
