Not really.
I mean she really deserves her success and all but the over-praised that celebrities and critics give that bug me. She's THAT good but she's NOT flaw-free

No. Adele as an artist and a singer? Yes. 21 as an album and an era? Yes. A year ago I might have had a different opinion on the matter, but the meta comment that all music except for Adele is crap is exactly what overrates her--- I think she's fantastic, her voice is powerful and soulful and her music is beautiful and expertly crafted. But there comes a point when her situation is treated like she can do no wrong--- that she is, in fact, unstoppable. And I blame that in part on the vast dichotomy between her and other popular acts, like Rihanna and Katy Perry. The differences in talent and poise/maturity is striking (and at times a bit humorous) and I think, especially when sharing the same stage like at the Grammy's, that shows. "Rolling in the Deep" on the Grammy's was probably the best vocal performance and despite having no gimmicks, she managed to be theatrical and dramatic and yet retain her mature air. But she's not the only good vocalist and writer out there and that's where the line has to be drawn. I could name you a good twenty relatively successful artists with as good (if not better) voices than Adele who have written their own music and display the same artistry and maturity. It's just that she has been so massively successful that it seems to amplify her pros and dilute her cons--- it's a vicious cycle. People like her because she's so mature and yet still successful, and she's successful because people think she's so mature and so well liked. The over-hyping of Adele will come at a cost to her if her next album is underwhelming (or, conversely, dangerously similar to 19 and 21 in quality/content) and that's when comments on her career will hail her as having "lost her touch" or "not having progressed". It's one of those moments where you almost wish no one had ever heard of her. I do love her and her music and she's one of my favorite artists, but she's not the 4th greatest woman in music like VH1 is hailing her and she's not nearly a legend--- that takes time and sweat and blood, and for a woman who has only had two years of intense success, that's a tall demand and one that could haunt her later on. Not sure what you mean there. Can you point me in the direction of the numerous people saying all current music is crap except for Adele's? ??? lol It was just a general statement on the attitude of the media, critics, the public. No one is out there saying "EVERYTHING SUCKS BUT ADELE!" but there is a certain attitude, if you will, that she's the saving grace of music. I do think her music has ameliorated radio (obviously), but it doesn't mean she's the only one with talent and ability. And don't get me wrong. I LOVE Adele. I just think she is over-hyped to the point where all else is under-appreciated in comparison.

Yes.
I wouldn't say she was overrated if it wasn't for the awards her music video has won; but truly I find those wins undeserving and that she got them just because she's so big right now.

I think she deserves every single Grammy she got because her album was THAT good, IMO.
However, when you see her ranking Top 5 on a list that's supposedly showing greatest female artist from 1990 to now, I say hell yeah she is.

Her talent isn't overrated, "21" is.

Talent-wise? No. Musically? Yes. Agree. While I think Adele deserves all her success, because all-around, she is a very talented artist, I just don't have the desire to put her songs on repeat and listen to them again and again.

I think it's too early in Adele's career to judge if she is overrated or not.

I still don't think so. One ridiculous ranking in VH1's latest installment of the greatest women in music doesn't mean the world has decided she's the 5th most important woman to step up to a microphone.
