I don't get how people think this isn't a good fit for pop. I think the vocal arrangement/production is VERY poppy. If this were done by say, Kelly Clarkson (just as an example) the guitars probably wouldn't be as crunchy and in-your-face BUT the song for all intents and purposes would remain largely unchanged, and you can bet that she would make it a success. Which means I don't see how Evanescence can't make it work on pop.

I didn't really think it was all that pop friendly at first listen, but now that I've listened to it a few hundred times (k, that's exaggerating ), I can certainly here this on a pop station. Personally, I think this is this blows the whole The Open Door album out of the water, and it's one of my Top 5 favorites already.

I like this a lot! The beginning is too Kings Of Leon-ish but as it progresses it turns into a classic Evanescence track. I don't think it's hookless nor boring at all. I can see it going top 20 on pop and #1 on the rock charts.

IMO it's not just the "heaviness" of the guitars - the chord progressions are really Active Rock-ish, and I really can't see this fitting in on CHR playlists
I wonder if they might have a second single that's more pop-oriented
BTW is there any sign that this is even being sent to CHR? Sometimes bands like this lead off with rock-only singles...

The only problem with this song is that its hard to discern the chorus at first. You get it by the end of the song, but the verses and chorus are too similar for the average pop listener to catch on to the song.

I love this but it's too active sounding for Pop.

Sounds really weak as a comeback single...will probably underperform. I'm looking forward to their album though.

I don't like it. Sounds like a Lacuna Coil album track.

This song has fewer than 5 spins on CHR/Pop (possibly zero spins) .... No chance of doing anything....

Just wondering if anyone remembers a Hot AC hit from a while back called "Hello" by Sugarbomb, cause the chorus to this is kind of a ripoff of it

I feel like the hype for this pretty much went away after a week or two. I haven't even played it as much.

Well Evanescence haven't really had a huge lot of hype for this song, which is sad. I hope radio misses them and starts playing this song more.

This song was a major flop, it didn't do well in UK and europe and not even going top 10 on Active Rock which is very surprise. I guess people are forget and lost interest on them since they hasn't had a huge hit from their last album which was five years ago. Besides that, the music trend has been change lately on CHR. I think only a few pop stations are spinning this.

I think only a few pop stations are spinning this. I think more than anything is the huge break they took, that seems to really hurt artists these days. Christina use to take huge breaks in between records but I think she learned her lesson and so did Maroon 5. You no longer can afford to release an album every 3-4 years. Not to mention that this is nowhere near as catchy as "Bring Me To Life" or "Call me when you're Sober"

I just don't think there is really a spot for them in the music industry right now. It is always tough with a female fronted rock band-always. Plus, their music just hasn't been connecting which makes it even more of a difficult sell. I hate it though because I feel like the potential the band had was HUGE. I won't judge the cd until I hear it though-maybe it will surprise me.

Maybe this can go platinum without any hit single at all.

I don't know how to judge how solid their fanbase is anymore-I have no idea how it will open. I wouldn't be stunned with an opening of 75K or 200K+ lol. I mean, they always sold well-even their second cd did well and there is a bit of a demand opened up for them.

I think when your gone for so long that you basically start and square one. Regardless of who you are you need marketing dollars to have success and I am surprised I have not heard more about their return, they are an established band after all.

This hasn't flopped. ???
It's still climbing on Alternative nearing Top 20 with an average bullet, and I think it can pull itself out of a 'backwards bullet' on Active. Time will tell, so don't make assumptions that this band has flopped this era already.

Album leaked a month early.... I'm still gonna buy it. Artists/bands just can't afford to take year + breaks anymore. Way too much to overcome with a single and a record after years of being gone.
