I don't need to sway anyone's opinion- I think it would, and if others don't, that's fine. :) Bette Midler is #105 on my Itunes, so I'm not sure what or how you have been searching it.

Oh, I've seen that. lol Did it just randomly start going up? Because that commercial has been around for at least a few weeks now hasn't it? "Glory and Gore" has been steadily increasing for the past two and a half weeks. It first entered the top 100 last Sunday, the 16th. G&G is the now the 3rd single from PH.

"Wind Beneath My Wings" not in top 1,500- recall that the Oscars also had little impact on "The Way We Were" when Babs performed it (I think it didn't break the top 1,000). The ageist sales behavior of iTunes consumers. It is currently #104 on iTunes.

1. Pharrell - Happy 4. Idina Menzel - Let It Go 8. U2 - Ordinary Love 24. Karen O & Ezra Koenig - The Moon Song
Is this the highest all respective songs have been so far?

The Live Pop Bars, which lists the top 1,500, wasn't giving me "Wind Beneath My Wings" when I was searching for it. Odd. Thanks for the heads-up. :)

Even though the performance wasn't great, Idina is surely profiting from the attention paid to Travolta's flub.

Idina is also benefiting from winning best song at the Oscars. Also her not great performance is still way better than most pop auto tuned singers attempts to sing live. I think she suffered from the orchestra really speeding up the song and changing it from a 3 minute song to a 2 minute song.

Oscars had 43 million viewers, if 2% of the audience purchases the single Pharrel can hit 1 million units sold. Wow.

I don't get all the love for All of Me. It's like audiences were completely unaware of John Legend until they saw him at the Grammys and now they suddenly decided he's great.
(just to be clear, I like him, I think find it strange that it took so many years for him to achieve that level of success, and randomly with that particular song. Sometimes it seems you really have to expose people to your music and convince them they want to buy it, just like putting Happy on the Beats commercial, and suddenly a six-month old song becomes the hit of the year)

Aside from two listings of "Wind Beneath My Wings," Bette Midler's "From a Distance" and "The Rose" also have cracked the top 1,500.

And didn't radio react after they moved up on Itunes, I'm not sure of the time line, but that seems to be common now.

I think it helped that he sang the song and his wife was in the audience and it was like he was singing it to her. He also had a burst of publicity as he just recently married her and she was just on the cover of the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated. I also think it's a really good song that was quietly building an audience for a while before he played it on the Grammys.

Anyone know why the Chainsmokers was removed and then added back to Itunes. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with them signing a record deal.
