LADY GAGA • YOÜ AND I "Yoü and I" is the fourth single from Lady Gaga's third studio album, Born This Way. It went for adds on 8/23/11.
Watch the video, filmed in Sarpy Country, Nebraska in mid-July:
A picture from the set of Gaga's new video has made its way online; Another one: i.imgur.com/CIUnN.jpgAnd here is an article with more information: It hasn't been a long time since she came around. But Lady Gaga is back in town.
According to people with knowledge of the project, the singing superstar arrived on a private jet at Eppley Airfield on Tuesday night and spent part of Wednesday filming something in Sarpy County, possibly a music video. Roads surrounding the filming site at 108th Street and Capehart Road, in Richfield, Neb., were closed and onlookers were kept out of the area.
Angela Lewis, a teacher at Springfield Elementary School, saw road closure signs go up Tuesday near her home and thought crews may be preparing to pave the gravel road.
But to her dismay, she got Lady Gaga instead.
“She's kind of weird,” Lewis said.
Sarpy County Sheriff's Capt. Dan Williamson confirmed that the Gaga crew had gotten permits to close several roads around the perimeter of the set.
At 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Tara Gloe of Richfield woke up to a crew “zooming down” the gravel road next to her house.
The set had a rural feel, with filming taking place during the hottest part of the afternoon on the unpaved road, with tall cornstalks on each side.
Reporters were not allowed anywhere near filming. But from a distance, you could see a woman on the set wearing a large black wide-brimmed hat with a veil. Some kind of metallic material embellished the top of her black outfit, which showed bare shoulders, though her arms were covered. The outfit stretched to the ground — it was either pants or a long gown. It appeared to be a typical Gaga costume, though not exactly what you'd want to be wearing when it was 100 degrees with a heat index of 103.
Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, last performed in Nebraska at the sold-out Monster Ball Tour on St. Patrick's Day at the Qwest Center Omaha, now CenturyLink Center Omaha.
She also was in Omaha in December for Christmas weekend, visiting boyfriend Luc Carl and his family, who still live in the Sarpy County suburb of Springfield. At that time, fans spotted her buying seafood at Shucks Fish House & Oyster Bar and hanging out at the Max, a downtown club. She also rented the Papio Bowl for a private party.
Since then, celebrity tabloids have reported rumors that she and Carl were no longer a couple, although the rumors appear to be untrue. Reports of alleged Gaga sightings also periodically make the rounds among area Twitter and Facebook users.
Although members of the crew would not confirm Wednesday what music video was being filmed, or if it was a video at all, residents nearby said they found out that Gaga was coming to the neighborhood a few days ago.
Gloe said her landlord had told her that Lady Gaga would be in town for a few days.
Lewis, the Springfield Elementary teacher, said she learned about Lady Gaga's visit from her husband, who is a coach at Platteview High School.
The high school provided accommodations for the Lady Gaga crew Wednesday, said principal Angela Simpson. They fed the crew members breakfast, lunch and dinner — and shared their air conditioning.
Simpson said Springfield Elementary will host the crew for the next two days.
“The district office has known for several days,” Simpson said. “We're just being a host to something a little different.” So while it doesn't explicitly say 'Yoü and I' anywhere, having the video being shot in Nebraska and the already existing rumors for 'Yoü and I' being the fourth single, I think that pretty much confirms it. This might get locked, but at this point, it seems pretty unlikely that it will go another way, so I felt that it could get a thread. I'm still totally against this being the 4th single, but at least the music video looks interesting - hopefully she doesn't just walk down the road for five minutes. Hopefully this song doesn't flop.

I'm surprised she's doing this as the 4th single because her and Luc aren't even dating anymore. From the way she described to Howard Stern, it seems like a 'Friends with Benefits' type relationship.
Sad. Just by all of this, you can tell she's clearly in love with him and he probably isn't as reciprocal if he's just keeping her for sex.

I love the song, but I cannot see this doing well at all. I will never understand how/why the label thought that they could possibly go 8 to 10 singles deep with this album. :kii: "Scheiße" is the only one that I can remotely think of as working as a single, but at this point, I really don't know.

That seems like the most likely choice to me. 'Fashion of His Love' and 'Hair' would both work too. Just if this flops though... nothing would work, which is the problem. I really don't know why they chose this.

I've met Luc before, he didn't necessarily seem like the douchebag type of guy, but who knows, I was drunk lol.
I love this song, I can definitely relate. The quality itself should get the song somewhere, it is going to be challenging if they want to make this a big hit though.
I agree that Fashion of His Love, Hair and Marry The Night has great single potential, with The Edge of Glory and Beyonce's Party, I totally see this "late 80s/early 90s" throwback sound being the next big thing.

I really don't know why they chose this. Probably not. It just doesn't scream 'hit' to me. "Fashion Of His Love" is really cute, but sounds a tad dated for today's standards (it has a really strong 80's hi nrg sound to it). Fernando Garibay's remix from disc 2 modernizes it a bit. Has a single ever been released off of the deluxe version of an album that didn't appear on the standard edition? That could be good for digital sales. The original version of FOHL reminds me of Stock Aitken Waterman, Bobby Orlando, Ian Levine, Shep Pettibone, and Justin Strauss' work from the 80's. It has that same kind of vibe. I had this dream the other night that Gaga did a brand new song for a re-release of the album with the Pet Shop Boys and released it as a single and it was the biggest hit of her career. It sounded amazing. It had a mid 90's Eurodance sound. It sounded a lot like their song "I Don't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing."

Plus the special edition sales were bigger than the standard sales anyway. But we've had this discussion before. ;)

I love You and I, but I'm still not convinced it's the next single. Also, she could be shooting 2 videos (and have You and I ready to go for the future).

Been a long time since I came around, been a long time but I'm back in town...this time I'm not leaving without you :'(
I know everyone wants her to go the predictable route ala "Scheibe/Marry The Night" which are both good but I love that she's taking this risk since it's my fave song this era. I love the direction she's headed into this era, she could really gain a more solid fanbase by doing this.

There must be 2 videos. I can't see a video in Nebraska also having mermaids. LOL. Who knows with GaGa though.

The fact that her stans are against this being a single and more casual fans/listeners are for it is a good sign.

This song is really going to broaden her fan base. If she makes a normal video, I see it being the song that helps with the departure of not being taken seriously, and viewed as a just a "shock and thrills pop singer" that a lot of people think she is. This song could actually get played on country radio too! haha.

Bring it on, I guess. I hope this is a hit, it could be important for her. I'm thinking with this/TEOG video, the chances that Schiebe gets released are getting slim since she's actively moving away from that.

I enjoy this song but I will not be convinced that it will do anything other than stall until it starts having some impressive updates upon release. Of course, I always hope that I'm proven wrong but I can definitely see a lukewarm response from CHR for this one. For one thing, this song just seems old. We've been hearing it for a while. She's already performed it numerous times. Hell, it's already been performed on AI by both her and a contestant.
I hope the video is grand and can propel it but sign me up with the others who are disappointed with this choice. This isn't one I personally wanted to see released at all much less at this critical juncture for the BTW era.

I skip this & The Queen when I listen to the album; actually prefer The Queen over this. This could have worked for me with a different producer. This as a single doesn't look good. I say "Scheibe" (Fav!), "Marry The Night", or "Americano" is what radio needs from her. It looks as if she's moving forward to doing her pop folk type of music she played at bars.
