Obviously it's difficult to narrow down a Beatles song to start a thread about, but "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" is interesting for a couple of reasons and I thought it would be a more obscure song to talk about. It was a track from Help!, one of two albums the group released in 1965. It has a strong Dylan influence, and has been covered by plenty of high profile acts including the Beach Boys, U2, Elvis Costello and Oasis, who clearly based a number of their songs on this sound.
One of the reasons it sticks out to me is that it tackles the subject matter of manager Brian Epstien's homosexuality, which was illegal at the time, and a supposed encounter in Spain with John, who sings lead on this song.
Help! was the soundtrack to their film of the same name, and that's the other reason it's so interesting to me. The clip of them performing it in the film functions like a music video, and it's fascinating to see them in that kind of setting. As a video it's simple, but it fits the song brilliantly and is really well produced, especially considering the time period.

Help! is a guilty pleasure of mine. I'm always reminded of the Epstein backstory whenever I hear this song, which definitely makes the song more interesting for me as well.
