No radio adds date here or at Pop that I'm aware of, but they did just roll out a video for this breezy, bittersweet tune. This won't do anything for Cardiology at this point, but I still root for these guys and am very pleased that they're promoting my favorite song on the album. A nice little surprise for me. :)

This just has to be a hot Smashing Pumpkins remake.

What a shame. If this were released as a follow-up to "Like It's Her Birthday", it could've got them a minor hit on pop, HAC, and alternative. Oh well.

I still root for them as well even though they're not in the spotlight anymore. I'm glad to see that many of the late 90s/early 00s pop-punk bands are still around even if they're not charting anywhere. Like I just heard a clip of New Found Glory's first single "Radiosurgery" off of their upcoming album with the same name.

What a shame. If this were released as a follow-up to "Like It's Her Birthday", it could've got them a minor hit on pop, HAC, and alternative. Oh well. I doubt Alternative, since I assume the only reason "The River" scraped the Top 40 four years ago was because the Avenged guys were on it. Pop these days is more suited to something like "Last Night" from them, which was an admirable attempt to beat Katy Perry's inevitable smash hit to the punch, trying to pre-emptively steal some of her glory with her very similarly-themed song and not look like opportunists by releasing it as a single in her wake. Considering the performance of "Like It's Her Birthday," the Pop audience surely wouldn't be bowled over by a bittersweet follow-up single from Good Charlotte in 2011, especially considering all the references it makes to music from the late '70s. Hot AC might have been their only bet, had this song been released second, and even that wouldn't have been a guarantee.
