First single from NFG's upcoming seventh studio album with the same name "Radiosurgery" which will be released on October 4th. I don't expect this to chart since I don't believe they have charted since 2004 with "All Downhill From Here." They're on Epitaph, and besides Weezer, they don't have any other bands tearing up the mainstream lately, although many of them seem to do very well in the punk scene. These guys will always be in the Top 5 of my favorite all-time bands. Here's a 30 second clip of the song and a digital download is supposed to be released today. www.amazon.fr/Radiosurgery/dp/B005D5KAOS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1312233436&sr=1-1

Really like this, actually. The full song can be heard already too.

Oh man. I love it. It's a shame that only diehard fans will ever hear it.

It's funny, because I've always loved NFG. Discovered them when I was really young. Coming Home will always be my favorite album, especially the song "Familiar Landscapes", as I was going through a really tough time as a child and the "What do you want from me?" part really spoke to me.
Anyway, Excited for this release. Enjoyed "Not Without a Fight", so hopefully this is even better.

Coming Home will always be my favorite album, especially the song "Familiar Landscapes", as I was going through a really tough time as a child and the "What do you want from me?" part really spoke to me. As I've mentioned many times before on here, I grew up in Coral Springs, Florida where they're from and still reside. The band members are a few years older than me, so while a few of them went the same high school as me, I never actually "knew them." Around the time that I started high school in 1998 is when their popularity started to rise locally and then within about two years, "Hit Or Miss" exploded nationally. Everyone and their mothers it seemed in the area seemed to listen to NFG and it really paved the way for pop-punk to really become extremely popular in South Florida with other bands forming locally. So, during my high school years their "Nothing Gold Can Stay" and self-titled albums were really the soundtrack to my life as a shy nerdy kid who was afraid to talk to girls. I'm married now, so I guess I kind of grew out of that a bit ;) Anyway, I totally related to their music and they've been one of my favorite bands ever since. They still have a very big diehard fanbase down there with most fans being in their 20s since they grew up as teenagers listening to them like myself and their local small venue shows sellout very quickly. Although, last year I saw them open for Paramore at a large amphitheater to a crowd of mostly pre-teen and teenage girls and hardly any of them knew who NFG was. I've seen NFG live I believe eight times and it upset me because their popularity has really downfallen over the past seven years or so and Paramore hasn't been around anywhere as long, but I'm glad they're still considered one of the biggest all-time punk-pop bands today.

I think (at least I hope) they will go down as one of the legendary pop-punk bands. Especially on sites like Absolutepunk.net, they have a HUGE fanbase that just love and support them with everything and I find that admirable. I think the lead singer has a really unique passionate voice and it's kinda like Blink-182 for me, It doesn't matter what they release, I'm going to like it.

I think (at least I hope) they will go down as one of the legendary pop-punk bands. Alternative Press gave them their own "Oral History" feature last year. I don't know, I just don't find them to be relevant and influential enough to have earned that kind of honor, so I thought it was a little undeserved or premature, despite getting credit for inserting breakdowns into pop-punk songs. I certainly respect them, though, for sticking around as lifers in the punk and hardcore scene after their heyday came and went, even though I've never felt compelled to actually buy any of their albums over the years. This new song is alright, but not particularly impressive.

"My Friends Over You" was probably my favorite song in middle school. It really introduced me to pop-punk music, including the then "A Simple Plan", Good Charlotte, Yellowcard, Sum 41, Not By Choice, among many others. Still some of my favorite bands.

That was the song that convinced me to download more of their stuff. :)

Interesting to know that a major site like Yahoo is still giving them publicity after seven years of not having a decent sized hit. I'm glad to see that.
