Is this supposed to be like a "No Surprise" sequel.

Good choice if they wanna really sell albums/singles. Bad choice if they don't want to be labelled cock-rockers for the rest of their fucking lives.

Whatever. Losing hope in this band. If they released Hurricane I'd gain a little respect back.

I think they'll go with "Bitch Came Back" to try and replicate the "Bad Girlfriend" success. Yeah, I knew they'd go with this. They're just that predictable now. I wish they'd thrown a curveball and released "Hurricane."

Is anyone here actually suprised by this? As DJ-O said, they'll do very well with it and lose all credability.

I'm not surprised at all, just disappointed. Then again, I didn't really have much faith to begin with so...

At this point in my life, adult kindergarten sounds like a good idea to me. I'd rather not worry about what I have to do when I finish college.

At this point in my life, adult kindergarten sounds like a good idea to me. I'd rather not worry about what I have to do when I finish college. This is seriously the conclusion I draw. Obviously CHR/Rhythmic, Country and Mainstream Top 40 are packed with immature, juvenile songs of their own. But they seem more varied as far as temperament is concerned. With Country radio, sure. You have an extensive share of defensive, childish songs that are the musical equivalent of a game of Tug-And-War at recess in that they blurt out: "Oh, what do them city folks know with their fancy cars and Prada? Screw them, we're way better than them!" topically. But there's still also plenty of prominent songs that speak to mature subject matter and have a true narrative structure. Like some recent efforts by the Zac Brown Band, Sunny Sweeney and Taylor Swift (say what you will about the latter's vocals and music, but she is a sharp lyricist and has quite a knack at composition) Even with Rhythmic radio...........yes.............there's so, so much childishness permeating the format, top to bottom. But more often than not, that childishness is projected more in the form of schmaltzy, self-centered reflection or passive-aggression than out of outright reptilian-brained anger. It's also true with Urban radio, which is more likely to churn out aggressive material but, even there, is much more syrupy and restrained compared to previous years overall. It's not to say Active Rock doesn't consist of more mature-minded songs. It does. But overall it just seems like Active Rock consists of one fine duality. On one side of it you have songs where the narrator flamethrows rage, either out of defiance or from a defensive posturing (often both, actually). On the other side you have songs where the narrator indulges in short-term deviant urges (almost always alcohol and sex-related) with a sort of adrenaline-induced "Screw everything else!" disposition. Don't get me wrong, sometimes listening to music this banal and annoying can make for quite an amusing distraction from the helter-skelter of modern life better than any other kind. For instance, I love dancing to dubstep music, but when it comes to listening it outside of a club..........all my attention is lost and I can't enjoy it. It's not intended for stereo speakers. Stereo speakers call for a music that is most adrenal, direct and free of subtlety. All in all, yes............juvenile. Adult kindergarten put to audio, replete with the fights and flirtations that typify a schoolyard without conflict mediators! ;) And there's no format I can think of that best suits that description than Active Rock! ;) Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Heard this last night for the first time on WJRR. The DJ seemed so happy to play it too like it was the most anticipated song they've ever played before. Anyway, as almost every TOAD song I hear these days, the lyrics are freaking horrible and they could lessen up saying the name of the song that many times. However, it kind of made me laugh since I have to agree with the song that 95% of girls are like that. I hope to never hear it again, but damn it for being catch. It's been in my head all morning.

It's horrible but catchy. On the other hand, songs like "The Truth Is..." are just horrible.

What sucks is that it's not catchy because Theory wrote it that way, it's catchy because the original children's song was catchy.

What also sucks is that Theory Of A Deadman used to write good songs, but have clearly given into being a joke if it makes them more money.

For example, "The Last Song" from their debut was a masterpiece (for a post-grunge song, at least). Now they've evolved into shit. It's sad. I hope when they get older and mature more musically they'll make good music again. I still have a little faith in them.

"Head Above Water" suggests that they haven't completely lost the plot. But its a diamond in the rough.

^ "Hurricane" is better-written lyrically and musically in my opinon. "Head Above Water" is just average and the composition is a little generic.
