Convoy and that John Denver song are basically like the epitome of old stereotypical country songs
Kung Fu and Car Wash are really cheesy
And that Grand Funk song, jsut something about it I don't like

Snow's "Informer" has to be up there, it just has to. Also "I Swear" by All-4-One.

For the longest time, I thought "I Swear" was a Boyz II Men song.

I should listen to that clips link and make a list of which ones I am familiar with. I'm curious for myself now that it's been brought up. Are the clips in order of when they hit #1 (for easy tracking)?

Ok, I've found some pretty bad ones form the 70's aside from Disco Duck and You're Having My Baby In Order: Knock Three Times- Dawn One Bad Apple- The Osmonds Want Ads- The Honey Cone The Candy Man- Sammy Davis Jr My Ding-a-Ling- Chuck Berry (how is this even a hit) Touch Me in the Morning- Diana Ross We're An American Band- Grand Funk Keep on truckin- Eddie Kendricks The Streak- Ray Stevens Billy Don't Be a Hero- Bo Donaldson Rock the Boat- Hues Corporation (it's just so cheesy) Kung Fu Fighting- Carl Douglas Thank God I'm a Country Boy- John Denver Rhinestone Cowboy- Glenn Campbell Convoy- CW McCall Afternoon Delight- Starland Vocal Band (the birds chirping doesn't help) Car Wash- Rose Royce Blinded By the Light- Manfred Mann Three Times a Lady- The Commodores Boogie Oogie Oogie- A Taste of Honey Knock on Wood- Amii Stewart (just something about this song irks me) and of course the final #1 of the decade- the Pina Colada Song- Rupert Holmes and those are just the songs I know This list is interesting but should have included... Alone Again Naturally-Gilbert O'Sullivan (July 1972) Seasons In The Sun-Terry Jacks (March 1974) The first one was about a depressed person whose life was a failure deciding to kill himself "In a little while from now, If I'm not feeling any less sour I promised myself to treat myself And visit a nearby tower, And climbing to the top, Will throw myself off In an effort to make it clear to who Ever what it's like when your shattered" while the Terry Jacks song was also about death, though it wasn't clear it was about suicide. "Goodbye Papa please pray for me, I was the black sheep of the family You tried to teach me right from wrong, Too much wine and too much song, Wondered how I got along, Goodbye Papa it's hard to die, ( ahhh, ahh, ahh) When all the birds are singing in the sky. ( ahhh, ahh, ahh) Now that the spring is in the air, ( ahhh, ahh, ahh) Little children everywhere, ( ahhh, ahh, ahh) When you see 'em I'll be there. (ba ba)" I added the lyrics for the benefit of those who weren't subjected to those hits.

The first ones that sprung to mind were those awful Boyz II Men ones that stayed there for months. There were some deadful ones in the early to mid 70s too. Having had a quick scan of Wikipedia, "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life)" would be up there too. You'll never be as cool as any of the Dirty Dancing song. F ag.

Hot Child In The City- Nick Gilder (1979) Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes (1981)

Till this very own day how don't get how I Gotta Feeling is called a song. It has no structure at all, it's all very random. The fact that it got to be the biggest selling digital track in US history is beyond me. and it spending 14 weeks at the top... it only gets to show how slow and lame music was at that time - there was absolutely nothing good out at that time.

Blinded By the Light- Manfred Mann Is it bad that I am pretty much in love this song? Do you think that Go Cart Mozart is still checking out the weather chart, seeing if it's safe outside?

You might not like it, but there's no mystery about why "I Gotta Feeling" was such a smash. It defined our generation (for better or worse) in a single song. Is it bad that I am pretty much in love this song? I like it too. With a lot of these choices I can see what people could find offensive about them even if I like them myself, but I'm not seeing it with that one. Plus it was written by Bruce Springsteen, and everyone round here seems to dick the Boss.
