Seeing how fast it has made the Top 50 on alternative, that could very well be true.

i think the album might debut in the top 20 on billboard 200 I'd be suprised if It didn't. This will probably be their first album outside the top 5 in over a decade won't it?

I would think with the dubstep influences considering how huge dubstep is now, I would have expected this album to outsell Chevelle's and am very surprised that it's not going to.

Well, Jonathan Davis admitted himself in a recent interview that many of their old-school/longtime fans are going to be "pissed" about this album, so there you go! ;) Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

His video of Paralyzed tripled in views in couple of days. At least he'll do well off this. :)

It amazes me how close minded some fans can be.

It amazes me how close minded some fans can be. I've been guilty of that a couple of times too. A localish hip-hop rock band with a very distinct gritty style that I loved got signed last year and recently released a pop-synth driven album. Took me a long time to get over that. Almost always if one thing a band does resonates strongly with people when they change things up it upsets fans, as Korn has done. That said I think this dupstep album is the best thing they could have done to remain relevant.

I much prefer their older material from the 90s than their 2000s stuff, but I do like this new dubstep direction that this album brings. I've only heard the album once through in parts, so I'll have to hear it a few more times to see which tracks seem to stand out.

Korn is still hit and miss with me. See You On The Other Side remains my favorite album from them and to me their most complete effort.

This seems to be inching its way to the Top 20 on Alternative. Wonder if it'll get there.

Count me among those who consider it wise for Korn to make their foray into dubstep sensibilities.
The shrill staccato pulsations and miter saw beats complement Jonathan Davis's visceral vocal styling hand in glove. They fit the mood of his characteristically angst-heavy ramblings and ruminations. Plus, "Munky" and "Fieldy" haven't been short-changed either. The latter's bass contributions remain instrumental in discerning and driving each rhythm track, while the former adds a punch to each cathartic beat.
Whether you like their new experimentation or not, it's hard to argue that, both stylistically and atmospherically, dubstep (or at least dubstep sensibilities, depending on how much a purist of dubstep one is) works well to Korn's advantage in that it just fits the traditional scope and temperament of their discography. I've even heard plenty of their nu-metal purists who are generally unhappy with their recent direction nonetheless concede that they can at least see how this particular tinkering fits their artistic leanings. One fan even told me he probably has just reacted strongly with displeasure out of the fear this signals just the first of multiple steps away from an instrumentalist band ethic to something entirely dependent on technology. He added that he has a diminished respect for artists that rely on technology as a crutch, and fears Korn are starting to forsake their craftsmanship.
So that tells me there is a fair likelihood that "The Path of Totality" will grow on plenty of listeners partial to their nu-metal sound, the more the band fleshes out their new sound in a live setting and proves, and reassures fans, that it doesn't diminish their band work ethic, but in fact builds upon it.
