I hope it's something left-field and epic like "Slip to the Void." That would be sick!

What Dev said. "Words Darker Than Their Wings" and "Show Me A Sign" would fill that same role very nicely.

"I Know It Hurts" or "Wonderful Life" for me From a chart performance perspective, those would likely be the two best choices.

This will probably be the closing single for the album since next year the members plan to put a new Creed album out and Myles will be doing vocals for Slash's second solo album. They have 2013 earmarked for Alter Bridge IV.

"I Know It Hurts" or "Wonderful Life" for me From a chart performance perspective, those would likely be the two best choices. "I Know It Hurts" I think has a definite ticket to Top 20, but it's like taking the cheap way there. I don't think "Wonderful Life" would do well to be honest. It may reach Top 30 and then I'd predict it'll fizzle out. Major-key happy ballads on active rock haven't done so well recently, and alternative isn't going to touch it. I have a hard time seeing HAC or Pop playing it either, because nowadays they lean electro-pop and heavier ballads like this are usually ignored. "I Know It Hurts" for the safe choice. "Slip to the Void" for risky choice, but it may pay off in due time.

"I Know It Hurts" for the safe choice. "Slip to the Void" for risky choice, but it may pay off in due time. I think you're sleeping on "Words Darker Than Their Wings" here. I love "Slip To The Void" and agree that it's a risky choice with a potentially big payoff given it's edginess/epicness, but "Words Darker Than Their Wings" to me brings that same risk of an epic album closer, but the rewards it bring are even greater. What I REALLY wish is that they had released the title track as the third single off Blackbird instead of the boring "Before Tomorrow Comes". "Ties That Bind" would have been awesome too, but by the risk/reward argument, I think "Blackbird" is the stuff of legends. I do think they're more established this time around to get away with something like that with the success of "Isolation" and "Ghost". And now that they're calling their own shots, they can push their own risks down radio's throats, and if it couldn't be "Blackbird" last time out, "Wings" would definitely have a similarly epic affect.

I have to listen to the album over again, but I listened to "Words Darker Than Their Wings" again I'm starting to really like of the idea of it being a single. It may need a radio edit, but "Slip to the Void" may also. I'm all for either of these tracks to be released over "I Know It Hurts."

Are they as divided as us as to what they should choose, or do they just not see a point in releasing another single? Any news on this front?

"I Know It Hurts" recently got an add. Don't know if that counts or not.

Given they released more singles during the less successful "Blackbird" era, I don't see any reason they couldn't release a third single for "ABIII". They've just wasted too much time here. I'm pretty sure they're focused on the next Creed album at this point.

Considering most music fans have written off Creed and take Alter Bridge seriously, their legacy might be better served if they focus their energies on ABIII being as legendary of an album as possible. But it's their lives so obviously I can't fault them for their decision even if I would advise them against it if I were somehow in a position to do so. Creed can wait another year. The more time that passes, the less hostile people will become towards it I would think, especially as Alter Bridge garners hard-earned respect among Creed-bashers.
