She has something like a dozen one-liners in the film, outside of the obvious troll comments noone was gonna place the success or failure of the film on her.

Rihception looks to be closer to positive than panning. Twitter-free excerpts below: Rihanna is as convincing as the character allows. Even Rihanna, playing a petty officer who handles the big guns, helps out (and she’s just fine in the rather generic role). Right in their line of fire are the Pearl Harbor-based Pacific fleet vessels that the Stone boys (as well as gunner Cora Raikes, played in a pleasantly feisty debut by Rihanna) call home. One of only two women in the film, pop diva Rihanna, plays Petty Officer Cora Raikes, and while she pulls off the general comportment of a soldier, she should definitely keep her day job. Fans of pop megastar Rihanna, making her film debut, will be disappointed to find that the role of Raikes may as well be renamed Young Female Demographic for all the pertinence it has to the narrative, but she's a sparky enough presence. Rihanna is more credible as a tough-as-nails petty officer on Alex’s ship; at least, unlike Sports Illustrated model Decker, she isn’t always filmed in Megan Fox-style soft focus in front of a wind machine.

Poor Taylor Kitsh. That boy's career just got nailed to the cross this year.
But anyhoos, I think people pretty much know Rihanna was stunt-cast just to bring in publicity for the film since she's obviously the most famous person there and the one doing the most interviews for it. It was equally as obvious though, that she's probably only in the movie for like 15 minutes and with no other big names, plus a ridiculous plot, plus "Avengers", why would anyone really go to this? It did well enough worldwide, they should have just released in the US at the same time.

So did anyone actually see the movie? Or will some folks continue to focus on the "hit or flop" saga?

The movie sounded like a flop as soon as it was announced they were making it. People are overreacting, especially by placing the blame on Rihanna.

True she didn't cause the shitty movie to flop, but y'all know if it was a huge success the riri fans would be the first one's to say it was because of Rihanna(kinda like Xtina and the Voice). I haven't seen the movie(just the awful previews)but I think Rihanna could be a good actress with the right role. She's soooo young, she's got all the time in the world.

I saw the movie last night and it was pretty unexciting; typical generic action flick. As for Rihanna's acting, I feel her role wasn't the kind of role that could be used to properly gauge acting skills since it was quite shallow. Anyone playing her character wouldn't have made or broken the movie either way since the character wasn't an integral part of the plot. That said, she did a good job of helping kick alien ass though.
Mahalo, motherfucker! ;)

Cheers to the Illuminati Princess for giving the best performance of her career - demdike dead-eye stare and all. I was even feeling the two seconds of pu$$y pat she gave before the good folks at Fox decided to cut away. She sounded fantastic, rocked that Predator look and was overall a star.

In the second verse, somewhere in the CROWWWWWDDDD would sound a mess with the choreo attached to it if she actually attempted to sing it.

I Love her 1st fragrance. Does anyone know roughly how much artists make selling these fragrances if they do decently?
I liked Rihanna's performance the other night. She has a cockiness to her when she on stage that I like.

I don't know where to ask this, but does anyone know which Rihanna songs had the most longevity on the H100? Wonder if WFL could beat (I'm guessing) Umbrella in that regard too.

^Disturbia had 37 weeks and We Found Love already has 35. Umbrella did 33 and Don't Stop The Music, 30.
