Oh Sail is more interesting alright. It is fascinating in a ... what bizarre twist will this saga take next sort of way ... whereas Not Your Fault has lyrics, a melody, a hook, you know, normal fun catchy stuff. [/sarc] ;)

Not just that though...the sounds in "Sail" are really interesting. The juxtaposition of the grating vocals and hard fat synth lead with the stately I would go as far as to say BEAUTIFUL pizzicato strings, synth pads, chorus of "ooos," and lush guitars at the end -- I think the whole thing is actually quite brilliant. The rhythms are also really cool.
"Not Your Fault" is just your typical song. If you like it, then great, and a good song deserves more praise than any bells & whistles. I just don't find "Not Your Fault" all that special as a song, so therefore, the fact that it has nothing interesting conceptually to fall back on makes it an objectively weaker song in my mind. But obviously when it comes to opinions about music, nothing is objective.

I totally see where you are coming from, and I give him a lot of credit for trying something like Sail. I just have heard the song more than a dozen times and I cannot for the life of me appreciate it, particularly the vocals. But the creativity there is a refreshing change from so much of what is on rock radio now ... particularly on the active rock side.

Wonder what's next for these guys? "Kill Your Heroes" and "Jump on My Shoulders" have gotten some airplay but nothing really jumps out at me as being a next single.

Music Choice has been playing "Burn It Down" quite a bit, but that seems like a mistake as a single release both based on how it sounds and a certain sorta popular band currently charting on alternative with a shockingly similar song title.

"Wake Up" as the next single I'll assume. It has that crossover-pop vibe which I can hear pop radio stations playing the hell out of
