I like OneRepublic, but yeah I have to say that I'm pretty surprised that this charted. I don't expect it to last long as it's been played on Hot AC/Triple AAA/Pop for quite a while. I guess there's quite a bit of poppy leaning Alternative stations out there.

Yeah, only 91 spins, but this still really surprised me. The Script may not be too far behind, in actual fact.

There's a station with the call letters WROX. I haven't looked, but I'm willing to bet that they're responsible for this. The fact that they're considered an alternative station is ridiculous. Also, if "All The Right Moves" couldn't chart on alternative, then this definitely shouldn't have. And if The Script are ever going to chart on alternative, it should have happened with "Breakeven", not one of their really poppy new singles.

^ "Breakeven" wasn't poppy? I think it's just as poppy as "For the First Time" or "Nothing." Non-U.S. singles and album tracks such as "We Cry" and "Rusty Halo" from The Script and "Exit Wounds" and "Bullet From a Gun" would definitely fit the bill for alternative.
As for "Good Life," I don't expect it to reach Top 40 and I think it'll fall off the chart soon anyways.

It's WROX/Norfolk, KLCK/Seattle, and KUCD/Honolulu - all three are Hot AC/Alternative hybrids, but Mediabase considers them Alternative

I can't believe this, of all their singles, has enough spins, few though they may be, to give them their first Alternative chart hit. I mean, this is OneRepublic. In 2011. At least in 2008 when "Stop and Stare" came close to charting, they were still a new enough band that their identity hadn't been firmly established for them yet. But at this point, everybody knows this is a fairly vanilla pop band.

Back in 2008, there weren't any Hot AC/Alternative hybrid stations - in 2011, there are three I don't think it has anything to do with how cutting-edge the band is - just the fact that three stations in 2011 decided to combine the Hot AC and Alternative formats into one station

KUCD has had their Alternative/Hot AC hybrid format for quite some time.
I actually like this song a lot, but I'm not sure how well it would sit with me if I heard it on an Alternative station.

KUCD has had their Alternative/Hot AC hybrid format for quite some time. Yeah, but they used to report to the Hot AC panel

I think they used to report to the alternative panel, then were switched to Hot AC temporarily, and then they switched back. At least that's how I remember it.
